I know that, I'm specifically talking about the top level .onion DNS Servers. If they find that, they have records of all people that use them, all the sites they've been on, and all the "real IP's" of the .onion sites, which they can then use to find where they all are located. Chain effect, pretty much.

FBI have more power than they should have, but not on foreign soil they don't. They went to New Zealand and requested a warrant and was granted it, but that's it. Piratebay has been putting the finger up to US since its birth.

If the court turned them down, you know for a fact that backhanders would fly and they'd soon change their mind. The FBI would probably try to sue New Zealand also, for protecting a criminal and encouraging piracy or something crazy like that, being FBI and all that.

Nah there's nothing America could do. NZ isn't scared of them either, they refused America the right to extradite Kim Dotcom as they wouldn't hand over the evidence (typical corrupt America). Atm Kim is still living it up in his mansion about to launch Megabox.

But yeah, it's not baffling. There's plenty of countries you can host sites and not be taken down, the main few being Holland (I think), Sweden and of course Russia.

Holland is on-shore, from what I remember, and sites can be taken down there. Sweden I thought was classed as on-shore, apparently not. Russia is like, bulletproof. :dawg:
