On Impact Wrestling this week Sting announced the return of a new Main Event Mafia to face Aces & Eights. He was unhappy that none of the current TNA roster came out to help him after Aces & Eights beat him down so presumably he won't pick any current faces.

I can't see any other originals returning to the group either;

Angle: Didn't help Sting so no
Joe: Same as Angle
Booker T: Signed with WWE
Nash: Legends deal with WWE
Steiner: TNA won't sign him again after the lawsuits

The old group had a ruling where all members must be former world champions so from the current roster the options are; Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe, Hulk Hogan, Jeff Hardy, Bobby Roode, James Storm, Mr Anderson, AJ Styles, Austin Aries, Abyss, RVD and Jeff Jarrett. Rampage was a champion in UFC and Pride so I guess he could be claimed as well.

From that list there are three that I would like to see join that I think make sense. Firstly AJ Styles. Since returning he has been playing both sides and is basically recreating Sting's storyline from 96. He is a multi time TNA World champion and a clear maineventer, he could easily fit in with the group. Secondly Jeff Jarrett. This is the perfect way to bring him back onto television. They need some star power in the group and there just aren't many free agents that fit the bill. Would be a nice surprise return. Lastly I think that Abyss should be part of it. Would be a good way to use his character again and allows him to get revenge on Aces & Eights for what they did to Joseph Park.

Who do you think will be part of the new MEM?

Pretty sure you can rule out Anderson & Jarrett.

I just don't see the "starpower" in TNA to reform a group like this. It would honestly be a better idea for Sting to bring in a few future main eventers, like Morgan(who lets face it, is due for a break), and Crimson. Along with guys like Aeries & Roode.

AJ isn't going to join right away for sure with his whole "Trust no one" thing, they'll definitely do the Sting thing where both groups try and get him. If A&8's bring in a fake AJ :mark:

Even though Kurt didn't help Sting, I can see him and Rampage both joining, but other than that, idk who could be in it really, especially if they're doing the former world champion thing. I'd love to see Jarrett finally come back.

Sting, Roode and Aries, Hardy and Abyss.

You're welcome.

Anyways, think this is a dumb idea. The only way this could be good is if it equals the end of both stables.

Jarrett needs to be involved. He would have fit in as the leader of Aces & Eights but since it's Bully (who I have no complaints about), I definitely see this as a great way to bring Jeff back with some relevance. I wouldn't rule Angle or Joe out just yet, knowing the inconsistencies in TNA's booking. RVD and Hardy are two guys I can see in it. I can't think of anyone Sting can bring in that we wouldn't expect. The only swerves I can think of is Hogan or Flair maybe.

So tna wants to drub up the past? Loltna.

Then again, after watching that aces n 8s battle royal, looks like tna is looking at anything from the past, seen that shit in xpw.

Even worse than WCW creating two seperate factions of the NWO.

I agree with this. The only good reason to bring this back is for it to lead to the end of Aces & Eights. This can be the final major storyline for the group and they can eventually end both groups with the one big match on PPV. Otherwise there isn't much point having two large stables running around when they only have two hours each week to utilise them.

I don't consider RVD or Jarett as on the Roster.

Really have no idea who joins this if he's ruling out people on the roster already, although the only person i'm really hoping for is Morgan as he does have an 'in' to the group that can be easily written.

None of these guys being thrown around are even main eventers.

AJ Styles hasn't been in a worse position (name value wise) for a long ass time. I know he's recently been getting pushed but I don't think anyone really cares about the guy anymore.

Hogan, Sting, Hardy, Angle and Jarrett are the only real names they have, and they are all semi-crippled. TNA's factions have always been laughably bad though. "They". lmao.

I'm gonna laugh so hard when they add a bunch of guys who's never been world champs or even been in a main event before.

TNA really love their factions, don't they?

I'm sure there's better ways of ending Aces and Eights than forming another group that people won't really care about.
