I don't really think it's that serious tbh the nxt fans already hated Kross lol and Joe was gonna be the most over guy no matter what. The angle being flat probably woulda happened regardless of Kross's raw appearances just bc he was already viewed as a flat champion no matter how much he won

But I do see where you're coming from, Chris but I kinda only half agree with you.

I'd agree that no matter what the fans are just ready to see Kross drop the belt to Joe. And when it's all said and done, Joe will still be champ and whatever happens from that point on can hopefully be all positive.

At the same time though, we can't just deny that booking matters to wrestling fans. It's some very WWE thinking to act like Kross taking these losses doesn't obviously taint his perception, as far as what beating him should mean, and a win's a win either way for Joe. Just look back at KO beating Cena while he was still NXT Champ, that was huge. If I were Joe, I would much prefer Kross at least be able to beat Jeff Hardy and a severely depleted Keith Lee leading into our title match so that my beating him means something. Now it's like beating Kross is the least Joe should be able to do. In my opinion, Joe should really just squash Kross if you want to send any kind of message as to how big of a deal Joe is.

Yeah, you could hear Michael Cole at one point during an entrance talking about a 16 time world champion lol which is hilarious with the Flair news but I'm pretty sure he was talking about Cena during the comment whenever it actually happened
