Moments ago, CZWNews received a voicemail message from none other than Ultraviolent Icon himself... ZANDIG.. ordering the announcement of a TOURNAMENT OF DEATH and CZW first... the FISH HOOK DEATHMATCH...

You've seen weedwhackers, barbed wire, light tubes, water jugs, and panes of glass... and on May 17th at TOURNAMENT OF DEATH, CZW once again raises the bar in Ultraviolence as we bring you the FISH HOOK DEATHMATCH... of course... you wanna know... what is the Fish Hook Deathmatch?

It's boards, wiffle ball bats and other assorted instruments of Ultraviolence covered in industrial grade fish hooks... capable of tearing away flesh, and reeling in your catch of the day... which at TOD could be your unfortunate opponent. On May 17th... someone's career could change forever... or come to an end in the FISH HOOK DEATHMATCH... coming this SATURDAY TO CZW!

In addition... the ever popular and almost equally as sick FANS BRING THE WEAPONS matches return to TOURNAMENT OF DEATH! We're in Delware this time... so break out the lighttubes or whatever else you've got laying around, put together your sickest TOD weapons... and bring 'em with you to SMYRNA for what should be the most Ultraviolent TOD of all time!

It's the true showcase of the Ultraviolent and it defines CZW. It's Tournament of Death. Every year, we gather the sickest, most insane and deadliest Deathmatch wrestlers on the planet and bring them to Delaware for the single bloodiest day in professional wrestling. With lighttubes, barbed wire, thumbtacks, weedwhackers and whatever else the fans bring, men like the WIFEBEATER, the NECRO BUTCHER, SICK NICK MONDO, NICK GAGE and DRAKE YOUNGER have staked their claim as Tournament of Death champions.

Who will survive this year's tourney and lay claim to the title of TOURNAMENT OF DEATH 7 Champion?!

Let's take a look at the complete field for TOD 2008:

#1 - TOD 5 and CZW World Champion - NICK GAGE

The words Nick Gage, CZW, and Tournament of Death are synonomous. Nick Gage bleeds black and yellow, and lives to compete at the Tournament of Death. Gage is a multiple time CZW Champion and has competed with the very best the Combat Zone has had to offer, but ask him, and he'll tell you the day he won TOD in Summer 2006 was the single happiest and proudest day of his life. Gage was unable to participate in last year's event due to injury, and has looked forward to this day ever since.

On May 17th, Nick Gage returns to his Ultraviolent roots at TOURNAMENT OF DEATH 7!

#2 - DRAKE YOUNGER (TOD 6 and UVU Champ)

Drake Younger is the reigning TOURNAMENT OF DEATH Champion, and also the CZW Ultraviolent Underground Champion. He is one of the toughest, and most resilient deathmatch competitors in the world. He's also battle tested, and at the top of the game. Drake always brings his best to Delaware, and that has to make him one of the favorites to walk away with the TOD 7 trophy.

#3 - BRAIN DAMAGE (TOD:FF and CZW Iron Man Champion)

Brain Damage is built for Tournament of Death. The Ultraviolent Cyborg is the most intimidating force in all of CZW, and boasts a dominant victory at Tournament of Death: Fast Forward in late '07. He posseses one of the stiffest right hands in the world, which he relies on to slug his way to victory after victory. He has no real weaknesses. It's virutally impossible to take him down, and keep him there. Brain Damage will be a force to be reckoned with on May 17th at Tournament of Death.

#4 - DANNY HAVOC

Always the underdog... many believe this will finally be the year for Danny Havoc to capture the TOURNAMENT OF DEATH trophy. Havoc may not look like the most imposing physical specimen, but put a light tube or a staple gun in his hand and he's as tough as any competitor in the entire Tournament. Like many others in this Tournament, he's battle tested and determined to take home his first ever trophy at TOD 7.

#5 - PINKY SANCHEZ!

Pinky Sanchez is known for having a good time. He dances on his way to the ring, dances inside the ring, and dances during his match, and on April 5th at Winner Takes All, he danced his way to victory. His celebration however was short lived as he was attacked by former friend and former CZW fan favorite Danny Demanto. The "Cold Hearted Playa" wrapped a chair around Pinky's head, and buried him with the patented HOGSPLASH... leaving him bloodied and unconscious on the mat.

When he woke up from the beating, Pinky made it known that on May 17th, he intends to seek revenge on Demanto for both himself, and the CZW fans in the first round of TOURNAMENT OF DEATH!

#6 - DANNY DEMANTO

At April's CZW event, an uninvited Danny Demanto crashed the ring and ruined Pinky Sanchez celebration after a victorious showing in the "Winner Takes All" match. Demanto claims that just like he made Pinky in CZW, he can end him, and on May 17th at TOD, he intends to do just that. Demanto will certainly have the advantage at TOD in both the obvious size differential, and experience. While he came up short, Demanto was very impressive in his CZW deathmatch debut at '07s Tournament of Death Fast Forward.

#7 - DJ HYDE

CZW's own Mastodon will be making his 3rd appearance in the Tournament of Death. While he has yet to take the trophy home, DJ Hyde has been a part of several memorable TOURNAMENT OF DEATH moments including TOD 5 where he was the receipent of multiple weedwhacker shots from the likes of Danny Havoc and Drake Younger. On May 17th however, DJ Hyde will look to dish out the pain as he vows to become TOD 7 Champion.

#8 - SCOTTY VORTEKZ

While he currently makes his living in the tag team ranks, Scotty Vortekz is one of the most skilled Ultraviolent athletes in the world. Vortekz is also no stranger to TOURNAMENT OF DEATH, having peformed well at last year's TOD and reaching the finals of TOD:FF. On May 17th, the former Junior Heavyweight Champion and reigning Tag Team Champion looks to make history by etching his name on the TOURNAMENT OF DEATH trophy.

#9 - "The Walking Episode of Cops" MICKIE KNUCKLES

On May 17th, Mickie Knuckles will make history by becoming the first woman EVER to compete in CZW's TOURNAMENT OF DEATH. Mickie is no stranger to the deathmatch though, as she has participated with the men in deathmatch tournaments all over the world, and done well for herself in the process. Mickie gained entry into TOD via BOTB's ULTRAVIOLENT SURVIVAL match, in which she was one of 3 survivors. On May 17th, Mickie vows to not just compete in TOD... but also to win the whole thing.

#10 - WHACKS

In 2002, he stood at ringside and took photographs of Zandig's first-ever Ultraviolent Tournament of Death. Now, almost a decade later, Whacks has traded in his trademark camera for a light tube as he becomes a participant in his first ever TOURNAMENT OF DEATH. The fearless fan favorite has transformed in front of everyone's eyes into the most skilled Ultraviolent technicians in the game, and on May 17th he'll look to prove why he belongs with the best in the world.

#11 - ANDY SUMNER

Andy Sumner will be making his 2nd appearance in Tournament of Death, fresh off the heels of his victory at BOTB's ULTRAVIOLENT SURVIVAL match. There's no doubt that Andy Sumner is one of the most powerful men in this competition, and if you've seen him lately, you'd know he's also quickly becoming one of CZW's most violent. On May 17th, Sumner will look to make an impact at TOD 7.

#12 - "HOLLYWOOD" NECRO BUTCHER

Despite the best and most annoying attempts by his agent Nicky Benz, the Hollywood Necro Butcher will be forced to leave the friendly confines of Maui where he's shooting a pilot for his new TV show, and face the fans (and maybe Danny Havoc) at May 17th's TOURNAMENT OF DEATH 7. While he is certainly not the man he once was, the Necro Butcher IS a former TOURNAMENT OF DEATH Champion, so if he's motivated, there's no doubt the Butcher could shock the world and win the whole thing. If Danny Havoc has his way though, the Necro Butcher's head will meet the end of a light tube.

What will happen when the Hollywood Butcher steps in the Combat Zone at TOD 7?

TOURNAMENT OF DEATH returns on MAY 17TH to SMYRNA, DELAWARE at BULLDOZER'S SALOON. Stay tuned to CZWrestling. com for more information regarding the TOURNAMENT OF DEATH lineup.

Davey Richards Calls Out Scotty 2 Hotty

Former WWE superstar Scotty 2 Hotty comes to FIP on May 30th in Crystal River, FL and May 31st in Arcadia, FL (check www.FullImpactPro.com for tix & info). Upon hearing the news, Davey Richards immediately issued a challenge to Scotty 2 Hotty. The challenge has been accepted and it will be Richards vs. 2 Hotty on 5/31 in Arcadia, FL. Scotty 2 Hotty has promised to hit Davey Richards with "The Worm" in Arcadia.

"There won't be any worm in Arcadia," Richards said. "I can't stand the worm. That isn't pro wrestling. I'm going to show Scotty 2 Hotty what pro wrestling is all about when I kick some of his teeth in and stretch his tendons until they snap. That is what pro wrestling is all about. I can't stand his style of wrestling and I will kick, strike and stretch Scotty 2 Hotty until he cries for mercy."

Tag Title Match Official For Crystal River

Tyler Black has constantly found himself outnumbered by The YRR. Last month, he promised to bring The Age Of The Fall leader Jimmy Jacobs to Florida. It will happen on May 30th and 31st. Crystal River, FL on 5/30 will see former ROH World Tag Team Champions Jacobs & Black with Rain challenge FIP Tag Team Champions Kenny King & Jason Blade. Can The YRR get past The Age Of The Fall?

"The revolution will spread to Florida," Jacobs said. "I look forward to meeting and organizing our supporters in Crystal River. We will rise to power that night when Tyler and I capture the FIP Tag Team Titles. Join us and be part of the movement."

Anything Goes In Crystal River

The feud pitting Black Market of Joey Machete & Shawn Murphy vs. Dark City Fight Club of Korey Chavis & Jon Davis has reached unimaginable levels of violence. Last month saw the first meeting between the two teams never get officially started as these four men just fought all over Crystal River. The scene almost turned tragic when Chavis & Davis poured gasoline on Black Market to try to set them on fire. Black Market won't be intimidated. They want revenge.

Black Market will get a chance at revenge on May 30th. Crystal River will witness Black Market vs. Dark City Fight Club in an ANYTHING GOES MATCH!!! Can Black Market get some revenge or will DCFC increase the violence? We will have comments from both teams in an upcoming edition of the FullImpactPro.com Headlines.

YAMATO went after CIMA after match 2, along with other RH members and Tokyo Gurentai. They attempted to cut his hair. Shingo stopped them, causing a bit of tension amongst the others. Typhoon made the save, which lead directly into match 3. After the main there was further discord between Shingo and Kong, for Shingo having aided CIMA.
NOSAWA and MAZADA will face RyoSuka at World for the Twin Gate.
The Summer Adventure Tag League will happen again this year, in August.

Good to see Generico getting the win. Unfortunately, he beat Genki Horiguchi who is the perennial jobber for Real Hazard :shifty:

Still.. OLE!!!

Major Star Returning to JAPW

The DOI has got word that a former champion in JAPW is set to make their return to JAPW. This wrestler has alot of questions to answer when he returns. This is great news for JAPW, as this news comes on the heels of Dan Maff's return. With JAPW's roster being somewhat weak this year, as opposed to previous years, JAPW will have two legit stars back (and possibly competing against each other) by October.

We've also gotten word that this wrestler will also take on other indy dates, unlike Maff, who is staying exclusive to JAPW for the time being. We've been told that once this wrestler is 100% ready, the DOI has the go to give all the details on this return.

I have a feeling that it's either Low Ki or the return of B-Boy. I'm hoping he gets a shot in ROH too, they need someone his style, and they should've taken him a long time ago to team up with Homicide. JAPW looks like it's making some good steps, they could be making more new stars now.

I'm thinking its Low-Ki. He should be near 100 percent after his knee injury.

It's B-Boy. I'm fine with that, I always was a fan of him, and I find it pretty ironic that I got his retirement show in the mail on Thursday. I'm hoping ROH gives him a chance, they're missing out on someone that can be taken seriously. JAPW could help with this too, with Omega probably getting a shorter schedule and having less talent than before.

B-Boy To Return To Wrestling

As hinted in a previous DOI article this week, long time indy veteran, B-Boy, will be returning to the ring. CZW made this news public at their event last night. While B-Boy makes his home in San Diego, California, B-Boy has a huge east coast following and roots in both JAPW & CZW.

B-Boy retired/took time off after a match for JAPW in December of 2007. The plan for B-Boy is to get some tag matches under his belt before going full swing.

Top rate indy wrestlers with no promotional affiliations (Unlike TNA or ROH talent) are in demand for indy promoters. I see B-Boy having a successful comeback, and it's only a matter of time before he returns to the PWG's, IWA's, etc.

I was originally under the impression that B-Boy's return was going to be a surprise, which is why we didn't use his name in our previous article. However, with CZW letting the cat out of the bag, and rightfully so, as they have to advertise him, we thought we'd acknowledge B-Boy as the wrestler coming back to JAPW and to other indy companies.

and here's news about a Kurt Angle shoot for RF Video. I'm guessing it'll be a 3 hour bashing on the WWE.

RF Video Films Explosive 3 Hour Shoot Interview with Kurt Angle

Rob Feinstein of RF Video told the DOI today that the company filmed a 3 hour shoot interview with Kurt Angle this past Saturday. I was told that this shoot was amazing. When asked if RF really challenged Kurt on some of his answers, in the light of Angle's recent radio interviews, RF said he did and got alot of good answers.

We'll have full details of this shoot once RF Video releases it. I know RF Video is looking to top this shoot with someone who has the same initials as Mr. Feinstein, and no, it's not Rick Fuller.

Look at that... Feinstein interviewed someone who loves playing with little boys >_>

As for B-Boy, can't say that I care all that much. I've always thought of him as the poor man's version of Homicide.
