CM Punk will be playing a part in Starz's scripted pro wrestling drama series "Heels."

On social media today, "Heels" star Stephen Amell posted a picture of him and Punk in a wrestling ring and wrote: "Please welcome @CMPunk to @HeelsSTARZ — He was a little rusty in the ring yesterday, but I assured him it was just like riding a bike."

Punk had noted earlier this month that he was quarantining as a mandatory safety procedure for a job.

PWInsider reported that they were told that Punk "will return to the ring as an adversary of" Amell on "Heels" and that the word is Punk's character could be a recurring one.

"Heels" is "about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small-town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals, Jack (Amell) and Ace (Alexander Ludwig) Spade, war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy (Ludwig) and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel (Amell). But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to -- or hard to leave behind."

Amell formerly starred in The CW's "Arrow." He's also had three pro wrestling matches, facing Christopher Daniels at All In in 2018, teaming with Bullet Club for ROH in 2017, and teaming with Neville against Stardust & Wade Barrett at WWE SummerSlam 2015. Amell was part of Cody Rhodes' entourage accompanying him to the ring at AEW's Revolution pay-per-view in February 2020.

When "Heels" will be premiering hasn't been announced. The show was given an eight-episode order by Starz.

I like Punk but he's kind of a mediocre actor, honestly. I watched one of his horror movies and it wasn't particularly great. He did remind me of Bruce Campbell a bit, but nowhere near as good

This might be a better suited role for him, I'll catch the reviews and see what people make of it.

ngl I dont even care about Punk specifically here, more so that it could potentially be an interesting rassling sitcom thing. I enjoyed first 2 seasons of GLOW so this could be equally as entertaining

For sure. It's an interesting concept, having Punk in there if he does a good job is just an added bonus. I think he should do well with it being wrestling related, it's not super far out of what he's been good in. Just a bit more acting required than WWE.

Show looks pretty good. The wrestling scenes look decent. The storyline isn't going to break any new ground by the looks of things, but I would be interested in it.

I don't watch the videos I post so idk lol no mention of him in the article I stole the trailer from tho so not sure if something is up there or he's just a smaller role

Sometimes it’s not about winning inside of the ring, but who you are outside of it. Heels premieres August 15 on STARZ.

Watched the first episode. It was an easy watch, and went by quickly. It's similar to Glow where there is wrestling intertwined with every day life. So it's pretty cool, and nothing corny when it comes to the wrestling, or discussing wrestling. I certainly recommend it based on what I saw on the first episode.

First episode was solid, some good ideas. Also Amell was great, did a good job playing against type. But there were a lot of cliches too. It could have done with some lighter moments. I don't see it having the broad appeal of Glow. That was a show which works whether your a wrestling fan or not. I'm not sure this will.
