I think the timeline does give Vince some leeway tbf tho

He stepped down only a few months after the promise and I do believe it was in between them and him coming back that Goldberg wasn't re-signed so really that would be on Nick Khan more than anyone if it was known the promise was made. Unless I'm misremembering and it was after Vince came back when Goldberg wasn't re-signed, in that scenario Vince obviously was 100% aware and didn't care

Personally I also kind of don't think Goldberg necessarily deserves one anyway, he had more of a run this past time than anyone expected already. It's just shitty if it was a blatant lie when they had a clear 1to1 promise
