Okay. Speaking of categories I'm looking at the list here. There are some that are obviously terrible like Games Played, Games Started but there are a few that we could consider.

Batters (bold = currently enabled):
Runs
Hits

Singles?
Doubles?
Triples?
Total Bases?
HR
RBI

Stolen Bases
Walks?
Strikeouts?
Errors?
Batting Average? (I think this is a must)
OBP? (This too maybe)

Pitchers (bold = currently enabled):
Innings Pitched (I think this should be removed?)
Wins
Saves
Earned Runs

K's
ERA?
Blown Saves?
WHIP?
Any Others?

Now we obviously don't want 20 categories so we have to be picky here, and we also have to balance it between hitters and pitchers fairly evenly. THOUGHTS?

I think you should enable singles/doubles/triples/total bases, and why the fuck isn't ERA enables? That's the most obvious one to do. IP should be removed, imo.

I'm in. Categories, absolutely. Points is terrible and unworkable.

What I've done and what I think works. 12 categories, 6 and 6.

Offensive: Hits, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG%. I think that's the perfect balance between contact hitter and power hitter stats. I cut runs out because they're more a product of what guys do after you get on base.

Pitching: Wins, Losses, Saves, WHIP, ERA, K/9. And I set the weekly innings minimum at 25, maybe higher. That's a good mix of quality and quantity stats, along with a stat that punishes you for too much quantity.

That's what I've done, but I don't really care what the stats are, as long as I know them and can plan based on them for the draft.

Shouldn't we keep it even though so someone doesn't just trade all of their good pitchers away for the best hitters in the league and go 10-4 every week.

What about

Runs/Hits/Total Bases/HR/RBI/SB
Wins/Saves/Earned Runs/K/ERA/WHIP

Maybe replace Earned Runs with ERA since it's kind of redundant and replace it with something else? We need to get Batting% in there somehow too.

mmmm okay too slow for Sal's post. sec let me read dis

I like this minus runs and earned runs. Not sure why I even considered keeping runs in the pool.

Sal's suggestion is pretty spot on, though. He seems like he knows what a good baseball league looks like so I'm in favor of that.

Okay after debating for literally an hour with myself I decided to go with

W,SV,K,HLD,ERA,WHIP
R,HR,RBI,SB,AVG,OBP

Any gripes? I went over to fantasybaseballcafe.com and found that this was one of the most balanced 6x6 setups.

Been messing around with the settings a little bit.

Minimum Innings Pitched is set at 22. This will prevent people from benching their entire pitching staff and ending up with a great ERA for the week. Not that any of you would CHEAT in a fantasy league anyway.

Maximum waiver wire moves for the entire season is 20. This will prevent streaming of pitchers/offensive players. This may seem low, but in perspective if you look at chico's team in the basketball league he has only made 18 moves all season and he's in 1st place. I don't think this league is going to be nearly as active as the basketball league (which is a shame), so I don't think it should affect anyone that much.

If this league does turn out to be active as fuck I'll bump it up to 50 or something.

We need more sign-ups fellas. Any ideas? If we can't get at least 8 we might have to go Roto.
