WWF World Champion: Hulk Hogan-23/1/84
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Tito Santana-11/2/84
WWF Tag Team Champions: Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson-10/12/83

WWF All Star Wrestling
February 11th, 1984
Allentown, PA

Before Sheik's squash, Sarge's music hits and he comes out to an insane reaction. Sheiky is pissed and waves his Iranian flag and gets in Slaughter's face, and the fans chant USA. They jaw each other and Sarge dares him to hit him, but Sheik refuses and tells him to leave. Eventually a ref convinces Sarge to leave the ring. Sarge points his fingers and screams he's going to shove that flag down his throat. Sarge stands in the aisle to watch the match. Wonderful stuff.

Match#1 The Iron Sheik w/Freddie Blassie vs Ken Jugan
Sheik is pissed and really belts Jugan's lights out while pointing at Sarge to get some. The fans chant for Sarge and it gets louder and louder. Sheik wins with a gross belly to belly.
*3/4

Post match, Sheik gets the mic and screams IRAN NUMBER 1.

Gene walks over to Slaughter and asks him what's going on. Slaughter says throughout his life he's called a lot of people "maggots" but Blassie and Sheik are THE BIGGEST MAGGOTS OF THEM ALL. EVERY TIME HE SEES ONE OF HIS BOYS WENT DOWN, HE GETS MAD. GOVERMENT'S DON'T FIGHT, IT'S THE PEOPLE THAT FIGHT AND HE WANTS TO FIGHT HIM NEXT WEEK. He leads the fans in the USA chant. This is the best angle ever.

They replay the Rocky/Atlas squash from Championship Wrestling.

Match#2 Paul Orndorff w/Roddy Piper vs John Callahan
Only 60 seconds this week, but sick as hell. Gross Lariat and the Piledriver do it
*

Match#3 Brian B Blair vs Tony Colon

Very lame and bad. Fuck this dork. Rollup does it. Get a finish fucking loser
1/2*

Match#4 Greg Valentine w/Lou Albano vs Rudy Diamond

Hammer shoves him against the ropes and ties his legs around them and kicks the shit out of them in one of the coolest little things ever. He keeps working them and gets meaner and meaner, and it's a blast to watch. Figure Four ends it
**

Piper's Pit with The Wild Samoans. Piper says a crooked referee cost them the titles and he's disgusted by this. Lou says he loves Lord Piper and he has nothing but respect for a man as honest and decent as him. Piper knows it all and he loves him. Piper says hopefully the WWF can investigate and get the titles back to them. Not great, but awesome bullshit if that makes sense.

Match#5 Tito Santana vs Charlie Fulton.
Another fine one for our new IC champ. Fulton blows a ton, but Tito guides him through it and eventually ends his night with the last supper
*3/4

Match#6 Roddy Piper & David Schultz vs Eddie Gilbert & Frankie Williams

Here we fucking go. Piper and Eddie start and have a fun back and forth, and Piper gives Ed a lot. Frankie gets in and gets murdered for his trouble and it's awesome as hell. Piper and Doc both choke him out with the sleeper, and then beat his dead body to a pulp. Piper slams his head off the mat and screams at him to get up and fight, and it's the first showing that he's fucking nuts and not to be trifled with. Piper eventually chokes him out and won't let go, SO EDDIE RUSHES HIM AND THEY FIGHT ON THE FLOOR, AND DOC HITS THE KNEE TO WIN
**3/4

Post match, Piper and Eddie keep fighting and Piper whacks him with a wooden chair and slams him on the floor. Doc gets involved and slams him again. Incredible stuff.

Match#7 Ivan Putski vs Butcher Vachon.
Horrrrrrrible.

WWF World Champion: Hulk Hogan-23/1/84
WWF Intercontinental Champion: Tito Santana-11/2/84
WWF Tag Team Champions: Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson-10/12/83

WWF AT THE SPECTRUM
FEBRUARY 18TH, 1984
PHILADELPHIA, PA

Our first proper live event with Hogan at the forefront, so i'm pretty excited to see how it goes.

Match#1 Brian B Blair vs Rene Goulet
Oh joy, just what we needed to kick off the new era. The mat wrestling is actually very good, but it's dry at the same time because neither dude has much fire or snap to them. Still, it's good for what they do. It ends up going to a 20 minute draw.
**

Match#2 Jose Luis Rivera vs Steve Lombardi
Oh, sick as hell....Nearly 8 minutes and none of it is very good or worth talking about. Jose wins with a crossbody
1/2*

Match#3 Rocky Johnson & Tony Atlas (c) vs Roddy Piper & Don Muraco (WWF Tag Team Championships)

Big pier 6 to start and it's the best the champs have looked, and it's all thanks to the heels taking HUGE bumps for everything like the kings of old. Piper breaks out the incredible stooging and stalling and the heat is insane no matter what he does. Don takes the brunt of the abuse in ring and he's so good at this point with everything, and he brings up the champs with everything he does. Piper decks Johnson and tags in and we get a sick control seg. Gross strikes, manic energy, the best shit talking in the world. Just a masterclass from Piper. To his credit, Rocky takes a wonderful beating and his attempted comebacks are good. Atlas gets the hot tag and it all breaks down and Rocky gets a sunset flip on Don to win despite not being legal.
**3/4

In a pre-tape, Tito Santana talks about Sheik costing him the world title a month ago, and he wants revenge for that.

Match#4 Tito Santana (c) vs Iron Sheik w/Freddie Blassie (WWF Intercontinental Championship)
This is a rematch from last month in Philly which i don't have, sadly. Sheik attacks the back right away with some gross knees and punches, and Tito's selling is amazing as you'd expect. He's slower on everything and holds when he gets a chance, and Sheik never lets up and beats the shit out of him. Tito hits a flash vertical suplex and fucks Iron up in revenge, and now both dudes have great selling. Tito mounts the comeback and it's incredible! So much damn fire and a snap to everything, and Sheiky's selling and bumps are killer. Tito gets him in an airplane spin and they both fall out of the ring and fight to a double countout.
**3/4

Post match, Sheik tries to attack him, but Tito fights him off and holds the ring.

Match#5 Hulk Hogan (c) vs The Masked Superstar (WWF Championship)
To say Hogan is popular is sort of an understatement given the roof fucking explodes when he shows up, and it's a moment in time to see how quickly they fell in love with him. He's a massive shitbag of a human (which i'll get to here and in the TNA review) but i can't deny how cool this all is in spite of that. They have a test of strength, and that bitch Hogan gets him down and stomps on his hands. MS does a lot of stooging and gets his ass kicked for the new few minutes, and it's a decent thing, but i'd rather a power fight. I assume once Hogan gets the routine down it'll come together in the right way. MS takes over with some clubbering and get a couple of minutes of a decent control seg with some clubbering and sleepers. Hogan makes a comeback and it's not the full thing yet, but it's close. Hogan keeps going after the mask like an asshole, so MS tries to use some brass knucks and gets DQ for it.
**1/2

Match#6 Andre the Giant & Jimmy Snuka vs David Schultz & Sgt Slaughter

The crowd loves Sarge and hates Doc, so you can see where this is going. They miscommunicate right away when Sarge hits him and Doc refuses to tag in, so poor Sarge takes a beating. Awesome bumps as his last night as a heel, and it's rad watching him and Andre go at it again. Sarge goes for the tag one last time and Doc punches him, AND SARGE SNAPS AND ATTACKS HIM IN REVENGE AND AWESOME FIGHT HAPPENS AND SARGE CHASES HIM OFF. The match ends on that.
3/4*

Post match, the faces offer their hands to Sarge, and he takes it and the crowd is elated to cheer for their new hero.

Fun show, and a nice little intro to the Hogan era.

The show open with a ten bell salute to David Von Erich. (wish this was the last time i had to write one of these. Fucking wrestling)

Match#1 Rocky Johnson & Tony Atlas vs Ron Butler & Rene Goulet
Bad squash from the champs as per. Just need North-South to murder them and then maybe we can have a division that doesn't fill me with dread. Sunset flip pins Butler
1/2*

Match#2 The Masked Superstar vs Steve Lombardi

MS takes it to the mat this week and works on Brawler's neck for a while. Good stuff as always, but i'm begging for him to find BDSM and some Axe's. Neckbreaker ends the fun.
*3/4

Match#3 Ivan Putski vs Goldie Rodgers

Goldie looks like the long lost Valiant brother or a Moondog. He's the coolest looking jobber thus far. Bad match, go fuck yourself, though.
1/2*

Match#4 Eddie Gilberg vs Israel Metia

Eddie gets 3 minutes to play with and he's good at this point, but he's lacking something, and he needs that to become the guy we all love. He wins with a spinning back elbow.
*

Before the next match, jimmy Snuka comes out to the ring and tries to shake Valentine's hand, but Hammer rightly doesn't fuck with killers and tells him to leave. Snuka walks off looking dejected. Weird way to start a feud.

Match#5 Greg Valentine w/Lou Albano vs Frankie Williams
Hammer wins in 30 seconds with the Figure Four
poop

Piper's Pit with Tony Garea. Piper says Tony has lost the tag titles 5 times because he's a loser, and he wants to know if he blames himself for not training hard enough or being good enough. Piper keeps cutting him off and calling him a loser who lost the title 5 times, and it's the best. Tony grabs the mic and says he would never be caught dead wearing a skirt. it's a kilt you dumb cunt. Piper says that just proves the type of man he is.

Sheik is in the ring waving his flag ready for his match with Slaughter, and the heat is crazy. Sarge comes out with a gold plated eagle and the American flag, so Sheik waves his flag harder and harder, so Sarge waves his back. Neither man will back down and it's the best. Sheik gets on his knees and bows to another flag with the Iranian president on it. Sarge goes to salute the American flag, BUT SHEIK ATTACKS FROM BEHIND AND LOADS HIS BOOT UP AND KICKS HIM IN THE FACE AND NECK, AND SARGE SELLS IT ALL INCREDIBLY WELL. SHEIK TAKES OFF HIS BELT AND WHIPS SLAUGHTER IN THE FUCKING FACE AND BEATS HIM DOWN EVEN MORE. SLAUGHTER TRIES TO LUNGE AT HIM, BUT SHEIK LEAVES THE RING WITH THE BLASSIE. Sarge finally gets back up with the help of the ropes and he's all kinds of fucked up and angry. He screams that he's going to kill him, and the fans chant USA. AMAZING, amazing angle.

Match#6 Paul Orndorff w/Roddy Piper vs Ken Jugan
Sick one for Paul as always. He bashes the kid inside and outside the ring and looks SO damn evil the entire time. Gross Piledriver does it
**

Post match, Piper grabs the camera and screams "That's pure wonderfulness right there". Love these two so fucking much.

Match#7 Brian Blair & Tony Garea vs Butcher Vachon & Jack Carson.
A personal tag team sent straight from the very depths of hell. The faces win with a move that sucked.
Poop that won't come out.

NEXT WEEK. EDDIE GILBERT VS IRON SHEIK

WWF is fucking white hot right now to the point where it won't see a downturn in business until 1990. Just a goddamn insane run that will take the entire US wrestling business falling to shit to finally bring them down for a while. Strap in folks, this ride is about to get insane.

Sadly only 60 seconds, but still a motherfucking fun 60 seconds. Piledriver ends it
*

Match#3 Rocky Johnson, Tony Atlas & SD Jones vs Butcher Vachon, Goldie Rodgers & Rene Goulet
The 6 man from the very depths of hell.

Mean Gene Inteviews-

*Piper is up first. He says LA doesn't impress him, HE impresses LA. He couldn't fight a Mexican to fight in LA, so they had to bring in Tony Garea. IT'S A HELL OF A LOT EASIER TO JUMP ON THAN IT IS IT JUMP OFF.
*Tito is up next and he will be facing Mr Fuji. Classic promo from Tito. Love him, but he can't speak to save his life.
*Blassie and Sheik are next. They call Tito a "taco eater" in a real gross moment, but it;'s the 80's so you know. Sheik is going to break Hogan's ass and fuck him like a bitch.

They replay the Sheik/Sarge angle in full, and Piper's pit with Garea. Kills nearly 12 minutes, so fuck yeah.

Match#3 The Masked Superstar vs Roco Vernoa
Another fun one for MS. Sucks that's he's gone by the end of March. Neckbreaker does it

In the back, Sheik cuts another insane promo in his native tongue about humbling and ass fucking Americans. Bless him.

Match#1 The Iron Sheik w/Freddie Blassie vs Eddie Gilbert
Really fun squash from our hero. Gross suplexs and strikes for a few minutes, and Eddie is game as always to take a beating when called upon. Sheik loads his boot like he did to Sarge and kicks Eddie in the face and chest and really hurts him. Camel Clutch breaks his back and humbles him.
**

Match#2 Roddy Piper & David Schultz vs The Invaders
Hell yeah. Piper slaps one of them to start and stalls and stooges in incredible fashion for the next few minutes, and it's a complete blast to watch him eat AL the shit and pretend like he's still in control of it all. He finally tags in Doc and the tide turns very quickly with the big man beating one of them down to take over. Really fun control seg with Piper throwing the sick punches and ripping at the mask like a real prick. The invader makes a comeback and they beat Piper's ass and gets him down, but Doc runs in and hits one of them in the back of the head with an elbow and throws Piper on top to steal it.
**3/4

Match#3 Tito Santana (c) vs Don Muraco (WWF Intercontinental Championship)

After two months of feuding, we finally get a match on tape. Thank Christ. Absolute rad back an forth to start with Tito being the faster man and even matching Don for strength. They have a sick fight over a wristlock with both dudes fighting like hell to get in control of it. Tito ends up grabbing it and he does some wonderful work on it. Always doing something interesting with it, and Don's selling and comebacks are great as well. Don throws en elbow to the face, SO TITO SNAPS AND THROWS SOME BACK OF HIS OWN AND HIPTOSSES HIM TO THE MAT AND HURTS THE ARM EVEN MORE. Tito keeps cutting him off and gets more and more angry at every comeback, and whilst heel in peril segments are stupid, this is how it's meant to be done. Don gets back to his feet and throws a nasty knee right to Tito's stomach and he looks to comeback, but Tito holds on to the arm and throws him back down. Don FINALLY says fuck it, and just headbutts right between the fucking eyes and Tito is hurt bad. Incredible selling right away, and Don goes right for it and beats the piss out of him in a killer control seg. He throws him over the top rope right onto the concrete and the thud is horrid, Don then drops him throat first on the rail and Tito takes another wild bump to the floor and he's bleeding from the mouth as a result. Don opts for knees to the face, or ram his face into the ropes just to be an even bigger fuck, and i adore him so much. Don even steals the running Forearm just to do it. HE TRIES IT AGAIN, BUT TITO DUCKS AND HITS ONE OF HIS OWN AND DON LANDS IN THE ROPES AND GETS HIS HEADS STUCK AND THE REF COUNTS TO TEN AND TITO WINS WITH A SUPER WEIRD BUT AWESOME COUNTOUT.
***1/4

What a match, give me another 40.

Match#4 Andre the Giant vs The Masked Superstar
MS is sadly on his way out of the company, so Andre runs through him without much struggle. Still, it's Andre fucking someone up so it's fun as hell. Andre stomps on his hands and rips his mask off, and it's not a nice thing to do, but he's leaving so i get it. Andre keeps fucking with him and having the time of his life, and it's nice to know they'll patch things up and hang out in Japan as the Machines. Andre misses a charge into the corner and MS jumps on him and clubs the hell out of him for a couple minutes and it's good times, and nice to see him get some shine on his way out. Andre makes a sick comeback and fucks MS up and beats him with Tremors.
**1/2

In the back, Vince is with Hulk Hogan. I WAS HANGING AND BANGING ALL NIGHT LONG BROTHER. HE KNEW ALL THE FANS WOULD BE HERE TONIGHT AND IT WOULD GO THROW HIS BODY LIKE THUNDER AND LIGHTNING. WONDERFUL HAS TO STEP INTO HOGAN'S PIT BROTHER. THIS IS THE COMBAT ZONE, BROTHER. GOD FUCKING BLESS COCAINE.

Match#4 Hulk Hogan (c) vs Paul Orndorff w/Roddy Piper (WWF Championship)
Another small step in the boom breaking feud. Hogan overpowers him with ease to start and Paul is very upset at not being able to get anything going. All basic stuff from Hogan, but he's doing it so well that it rules regardless. Paul finally gets a punch to the mouth of Hogan to take over and beats his ass for a minute or so, before Hogan fights back and shoulderblocks him out of the ring to take back over. He mostly eats him up until Paul finally hits a running knee to take over proper this time. Good stuff from him, and while not as good as his showcase work, it's still very fun. Paul hits the Piledriver and Hogan has his first seizure type sell before the hulk up. I'll hate it in a year, but for now it's a complete wonderful sight to behold. It's not all there yet, and Paul can comeback as a result, but Hogan is a force. Hogan ends up backdropping him to the floor to win via countout.

To open the show, we get footage of the title switch between Tito and Don, but without the finish as we talked about earlier.

Match#1 Tito Satnana vs Ron Butler
They now treat it like Tito just won the title, so i'm really confused about the taping order and airdates of these shows. Either way, this is a 40 second showcase for Tito, sadly. Forearm does it.
1/2*

Match#2 The Masked Superstar vs Frankie Willams

Good stuff from MS as always. Wish he wasn't leaving, but it is what it is. Neckbreaker ends it
*1/2

We get clips of Backlund doing amateur wrestling in his home town.

Match#3 Mr Fuji & Tiger Chung Lee vs Ken Jugan & Steve Lombardi.

Tigers hits a shoulder breaker to win in like 50 seconds.
poop

Piper's Pit with The Masked Superstar. Piper sings his praises as one of the best to ever do it over the last 11 years, and never having his mask taken off. MS says the mask is his title and he does whatever he wants to whoever he wants to. He walks out and that's that. Everything is really quick tonight.

Match#4 The Iron Sheik w/Freddie Blassie vs Eddie Gilbert
Sheiky fucks him up again for maybe the 3rd time this year, and it's good, but we need some new jobbers asap. Clutch does it in maybe a minute.
*

Post match, the crowd chants for Sarge, AND HE COMES RUNNING OUT AND FIGHTS SHEIK. HE PUNCHES HIM DOWN AND CHASES HIM OUT OF THE RING. FUCK YEAH SARGE. Slaughter gets in the ring and checks on Eddie and lifts his arm. Slaughter then gets the mic and says he hopes Sheik can hear him right now. He was ambushed and wounded in Vietnam, and he fought his way back. HE DECLARES WAR ON THE IRON SHEIK. He does the pledge and leads the crowd to do it as well. Incredible stuff.

Match#5 David Schultz w/Roddy Piper vs SD Jones
Doc gets 5 minutes to play with, so at least he didn't get screwed with time. Sadly, it does mean SD has to have offence and it blows, but everything Schultz does is very good, and mostly makes up for him. On another note, Piper has a sick Superman shirt on. Dave wins with the flying elbow.
*1/2

Match#6 Tonga Kid vs Bill Dixon

Not a very good one for TK this week. He plods around and doesn't do anything cool or interesting, and just works a lazy headlock and hits some shitty stomps. He wins with a top rope dropkick

Once again, Vince and Gene are talking about Tito's win like it's just happened, so i'm just assuming until someone competent is in charge of taping shows, it'll be weird like this.

Before the opening match, Andre comes out and shakes Tito's hand, and Vince says he was the first man to congratulate him when he won the title in Boston.

Match#1 Tito Santana vs Goldie Rodgers.
Tito once again gets dicked for time and wins in 60 seconds with the Forearm.
*

At ringside, Gene interviews Andre. He's very happy for Tito and Hogan, and he loves the fans very much.

Match#2 David Schultz w/Roddy Piper vs Rudy Diamond
Only 2 minutes for Dave this week. But it's rad as always, but it's still pissing me off. Elbow ends it.
*3/4

Match#3 The Wild Samoans & Samula w/Lou Albano vs Roco Verno, Salvatore Bellomo & Frankie Williams

AND THEY GET FUCKED FOR TIME AS WELL. HOLY SHIT STOP IT. Samoan Drop ends it maybe a minute and change.

No All Star this week, so we move on.

Match#1 Paul Orndorff w/Roddy Piper vs Rocco Verona
Paul kicks the old man's ass in great fashion as always, and if he keeps this up, the WOTY is his. He breaks out a nasty vertical suplex and kills the kid, and even shakes Piper's hand before he hits the Piledriver to win.
**

Match#2 Tito Santana vs Israel Mateia
Tito finally gets time and uses it really well as you'd be expected. Arm work and some stiff strikes, AND THEN HITS THE FOREARM OFF THE TOP ROPE TO WIN. Holy shit yeah
**

Match#3 Greg Valentine w/Lou Albano vs Jose Luis Rivera

JLR's streak was being used for this moment where Hammer rightly runs through him like he's nothing, and it's a wonderful thing to watch. Hammer uses gutbusters and all the nasty elbows, and even hurls the poor kid to the floor like he's a bag of shit. Hammer hits a goddamn nasty club to the chest and Lou shouts "DID YOU HEAR IT?" Jose misses a knee in the corner and fucks his leg up, and Hammer smells blood and destroys it. Figure Four ends the streak,
**1/2

Post match, he won't let it go and wreaks the kids knee as he scream for mercy. He finally lets go as Jose shakes on the mat and looks near death. Hammer seemingly backs off, but he goes back to it and hurts it some more until refs makes him leave. Hammer laughs his balls off as he celebrates with Albano. The kid gets taken out as he yells in pain.

Mean Gene interviews.
Slaughter will be facing Masked Superstar in LA (no tape, sadly) he's ready to punch this maggot in the face for his crimes.
Schultz is up next and says he will beat Hogan like a redheaded step child, or maybe a little girl.

Piper's Pit with Tito Santana. Piper says most Latino's are on the slow side and don't make it, but Tito is the exception to the rule. He says Tito is sitting there like a big shot when he's done NOTHING so far. Tito says he just won the title and he'll take on any challenger, including him and Orndorff.

Match#4 David Schultz vs Steve Lombardi
Quick one this week, but still fun enough. Elbow does it
*

At ringside, David demands Hogan come out and fight him right now, or he's a coward son of a dog. He'll beat a man to death if it comes to it, and he doesn't fear Hogan.

Match#2 The Iron Sheik vs Angelo Gomez

Gomez has the great porn stache in history.
Angelo-Gomez-WWF-Jobber.jpg

DUDES FUCKING ROCK. The match is your standard fun Sheiky baby humbling with some ass fucking to end it
*

Match#3 Jimmy Snuka vs Butcher Vachon

Oh joy, he's back. Very funny how quickly he fell off and how much i don't want to see him outside of Taker breaking his neck at Mania 7. Snuka wins with the splash.
1/2*

Post match, Lou Albano runs out and gets in his face, so Snuka decks him and runs him off.

Match#4 Rocky Johnson & Tony Atlas vs Frankie Williams & Mike Sharpe
Iron becomes a jobber and life gets a little sadder. Match is whatever as the champs suck and we need North-South to end this bullshit soon rather than later. Tony wins with his bad splash.
1/2*

Piper's Pit with Brian Blair & Tony Garea. Piper tells Brian that he's teaming with a 5 time loser who can't win and will bring down his career, he needs to pick another partner. Brian says Tony won the titles 5 times, which is exactly why Piper is saying he's a fucking loser, you bee fuck. Tony grabs the mic and says to never let anyone bring you down to their level. What a dork.

Match#5 Greg Valentine w/Lou Albano vs SD Jones
Greg runs through another terrible loser and it's the best. Vince says Rivera was put out of wrestling last week, and he's ashamed of Valentine. Valentine slams the leg off the apron to fuck it up, and then locks in the Figure Four to make him scream and quit like a bitch.
**

Match#6 Sgt Slaughter vs Rene Goulet

Rene slaps Slaughter 3 times to start, so Sarge beats the holy fuck out of this French maggot shithead. He batters him and unloads the perfect pissed off babyface squash. Sarge surivies a comeback and hurls him to the concrete and suplexs him back in like a fucking machine and then kills him with the Lariat and Cobra Clutch.
**

Match#7 Ivan Putski vs Tony Colon
Bad squash from the old man. Hammer ends our pain

Hey, a real match kicking off a show in 84, i'll be damned. Really good back and forth on the mat to start and it's nice to see Tito challenged for once by someone, and having to figure out a way to overcome someone whose not a scrub for once. He slowly fights back with his strikes and breaks out the speed and eventually gets back on top. They tease it going the full ten minutes, but Tito kills him with the Running Forearm.

In the back!!! Mean Gene is with John Studd & Roddy Piper. Studd says he and Hogan are the two strongest men in the WWF right now, and there will be an earthquake when they meet. He challenges him to slam him just one time, and he'll leave forever! Studd laughs and promises to end him once and forever. Piper brings out a pic of Hogan with Johnny Carson and says he's a Hollywood bum whose not focused on the WWF title, and he has to pay for anyone to even let him on the shows. Piper barks like a dog and storms off.

Piper's Pit with Jimmy Snuka. Piper makes fun of him for being from Fiji with monkeys and hairy women uglier than him. He talks about climbing up trees to get coconuts and wonders why he's here. Snuka asks if he's picking on his race, and Piper back-peddles and says this is just part of the show. The interview ends before any punches are thrown., but you get the feeling this might turn into something if Piper isn't careful.

Match#2 David Schultz w/Roddy Piper vs Brian Madden
Another super mean squash from Doc. After a month off to focus on TNA, i really needed a piece of shit beating the hell out of some poor kid. He kills him with a fucking spike Tombstone and then the elbow drop
**

Match#3 North South Connection vs Lou Cheney & Terry Daniels

The boys batter another pair of poor souls, and it's truly heartwarming. Dick beats one of them all around the outside and even hits him a chair, leading a massive Mean Gene freakout. Brainbuster ends it

Match#1 The Wild Samoans w/Lou Albano vs Steve Lombardi & SD Jones

Jesus, poor Steve is stuck with this motherless fuck for the night. Same old squash for the monsters, and i'm pretty over them at this point, which is sad. It's a combo of how rotten this division has been, and how they don't change much because they've never been forced to. Lombardi dies via the Samoan Drop
3/4*

Match#2 Paul Orndorff w/Roddy Piper vs Angelo Gomez

The dudes rock jobber is back to get his ass kicked by the Wonderful one, what a nice man. Super focused on beating and mean stuff for a while before the Piledriver ends it
**

In a pre-tape, Vince McMahon is now hosting a news type segment about the "new era". They show a really cool video about Sarge's babyface turn to becoming the 2nd most popular man in the company behind Hogan, and about his blood feud with Sheiky. Cool segment.

In the ring, two kids have a wrestling match with Backlund as the ref. Incredible how quickly they killed him off once the belt was on Hogan.

Match#3 The Invaders vs Tony Russo & Charlie Fulton.
The killers are back and give us an actual fun tag squash. Super cool armdrags and smooth offence for a while, and it's a shame one of them is a cunt because i really enjoy them. Sunsetflip/dropkick combo does the deed
**

The famous Piper's Pit with Andre airs with the all time line "YOU DO NOT THROW ROCKS AT A MAN WITH A MACHINE GUN"

Match#4 Greg Valentine w/Lou Albano vs Tony Garea

Hammer wins in two minutes with an elbow to the face. FUCK YEAH HAMMER
*

Match#5 Butcher Vachon vs Steve King

Decent old fat man squash for Butcher. Classic case of everything bar punches being gone from the skill set, and that weirdly being enough to work. Butcher squashes him in the corner and pins him for 3
*

Match#6 Salvatore Belleomo vs Ron Shawn
Whatever stuff from Sal. He's a good dude. but not a good squash guy and i wish it wasn't the case. Running headbutt does it

Tonight; Backlund vs Lee

Match#1 Tito Santana vs Tony Russo
Good shit from our hero as always, and even more so against a really fat and gross looking jobber you want to see die. Running Forearm kills him dead
**

Match#2 Paul Orndorff w/Roddy vs Johnny Ringo
I WASN'T. Awesome shit from Wonderful against a loud talking shithead who pushed him too far. Watch Tombstone is what i'm saying, folks. Paul hurls him to the floor and really fucks him up as he should. Piledriver does the deed.
**

WWF News Update-Hulk Hogan. Vince shows footage of his meteoritic rise since January. Really love this stuff showing all the big names and giving us reasons to care. Really shows the new era that wrestling is slowly becoming.

Match#3 Sgt Slaughter vs Ron Shaw.
Maggot squashing is back in fashion, you pukes. Been far too long since i watched him fuck someone up, and it's a wonderful thing as always. The offence is mean as fuck for a while, and the big man takes a beating and then some. Cobra Clutch ends it
**

MEAN GENE
Andre & Snuka are up first. They'll be facing Doc and Piper on the weekend after Piper messed with them both (sadly, i don't have footage of this).
Hammer and Lou walk on next. Hammer talks about the series of matches they had two years ago when he broke his legs and the bell saved his life, and this time he'll feel a new version of the figure four and no one will save him.

In the crowd, they show Rocky Johnson's son...

Match#3 Rocky Johnson & Tony Atlas vs Charlie Fulton & Israel Matia
Sadly, Dwayne being there doesn't make his old man a good wrestler or person, but i had to hold out hope, you know. Atlas wins with his horrible press/splash

Piper's Pit with Iron Sheik & Freddie Blassie. Piper calls him the real worlds champion whose not getting the respect he deserves from these horrible American fans. Sheik thanks him for finally understanding the truth, and Blassie says he's full of class. Sheik says Piper can buy anyone car he wants and he'll pay for it, so Piper asks for a Rolls and dances in joy.

Match#4 David Schultz vs Steve Lombardi
Another fun one for Doc. Wish this was the 90's and he could have a proper TV feud, but i'll take what i can get. Piledriver does it
*

Match#5 Bob Backlund vs Tiger Chung Lee

Bob is now wearing a singlet and doesn't look near as mental as he used to. Really sad to see this happen to my hero, but i get it from the WWF's perspective of him being yesterday's news. It's not a good match either as Tiger is a bum who can't be hidden in tag matches, and Bob isn't killing himself when he knows it's over for him. Bob wins with a backslide
3/4*

Post match, Bob celebrates with the kids from last week. Sad shit.

Match#6 Iron Mike Sharpe vs Victor Mercado
Iron man does his thing and it's the best stuff ever. He beats him up on the outside with a table and kicks him in the face with the point of his boot, and it's a real shithead bully beating. Forearm does it
**

Next week; Piper vs SD Jones

Roddy Piper & David Schultz vs. Andre The Giant & Jimmy Snuka.
Piper talks endless amounts of shit to start at Andre to grab him now, and then he tags in Schultz immediately. AMAZING. Andre murders him out of anger, and it's an incredible sight watching Andre pick Doc up from the apron over the ropes like he's a small man. Just a freakish display of an already one of a kind human. Andre keeps fucking with him and Piper gets more and more loud in directing Doc on what to do, but never actually tagging in because he's a new level of shithead coward. Doc punches Andre in the back of the head, and Piper finally gets in and cheap shots him, AND ANDRE POWERS UP AND BATTERS HIM WITH PUNCHES AND SWATS TO THE FACE, AND PIPER RUNS FOR IT AND TAGS DOC BACK IN. Doc manages to knee the big man in the face to drop him down and he hits him in the head with an elbow, and Andre is hurt for real. Piper sneaks in and cracks Andre in the face with brass knuckles and he busts Andre wide open!!!! They go crazy on the cut with punches and knees and Andre's selling is incredible, and Patterson says it's been years since anyone has beaten Andre this badly. Piper's punches are amazing as hell, and he even bites him to further himself as the worst man in the world. Andre's entire head is covered and he slumps against the ropes, and Piper's chest is COVERED in Andre's blood in all time visual. The ringside doctor gets in the ring to check on Andre, and Piper has this insane smile on his face the entire time as he thinks he's slayed the giant. A mountain of officials come out and try to load Andre onto a stretcher, Andre somehow stumbles back to his feet as they try to help him out of the ringside. Snuka gets in and challenges them both to fight and MSG loses it. Snuka goes for it and it's the best he's looked in months and months, and the heels bounce all over the place for him. ANDRE COMES BACK OUT WITH HIS HEAD ALL WRAPPED UP, AND HE MURDERS THEM BOTH IN REVENGE. "ANDRE WANTS TO KILL THEM, PAT" shouts Gorilla as Andre lands two gross big boots to Doc's face. The heels finally get free and run for the hills and our heroes win via countout.
***1/4

One of the coolest things to ever happen.
