While I don't believe this was his intent, it's probably because his move isn't really an STF, but really an STS.If anything, how's THAT the awkward one of the two name changes?
Like I said, I don't think HE meant it that way, but it is true.

Picture them screaming "Throwback" when he hits the FU. It seems fucking stupid, as he isn't throwing him back at all, and basically, just doesnt suit it.

Haha, no idea, you'd have to ask Joey Styles, I believe he was the one who named it.So hang on a minute... The move formerly known as the STFU (refered to in WWE in relation to other wrestlers as a Stepover Crossface or STF) is in fact an STS....
What the fuck do these initials actually stand for???? LOL
But, if you watch Cena apply it, it's clearly a sleeper, not a facelock.
Just another reason why wrestling sucks now. This whole fucking PG era is gay.

It's the fact that the Attitude Era sucked as wrestling era, and merely was successful because it capitalized on the culture that was created with shows like Married with Children and Jerry Springer. The Attitude Era was successful because it was shocking and things we had never seen before. But, you can only do that for so long until the shocking is no longer shocking, and you've seen it all before.I don't know if it's the merchandise cash they make from all the kids that buy the merchandise, or if it's external pressure from the media/some other segment of society that's making the WWE "PG" these days. I'd rather they go back to the raunchy 100 mile an hour Attitude Era though.
Most people do. One of my favorite comments would be "Cena doesn't know wrestling. He can't even apply the STF correctly". It was my favorite because I would correct them, at the same time they show THEIR ignorance of wrestling knowledge.@ Sly & MS: I just had that down to Cena 'adopting' the move incorrectly and no-one ever pulling him up on it!
Learn something new every day etc.
I know. Its funny how 8 years ago we used to see middle fingers, drinking beers SOB, bra and panties, jericho's jokes about steph tits and bad words.
I agree with your thoughts on the Attitude Era, and the quality of the WWE right now. I said years ago that at some point we'd get to this level, and we have.^^^YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN!!! Go watch football then!
Wrestling has always been family entertainment.... The Attitude era was a exception in desperate times.
There's always gonna be things that could have been done better - This is effectively a live soap opera where the performers run risk of injury every night - but for what it's worth, the quality and depth of the WWE right now is, in some cases, as good as it's EVER been.
The only thing I think is particularly conspicuous by it's absence is a guy that EVERYBODY wants to get behind (like Austin), but IMO those days of such guys are gone.
To be fair, most of the women now are covered a lot more than they used to. Both Mickie and Meline wear tights instead of skirts, for example. I would even go so far as to say you could probably see more skin from a two piece swim suit than you do on WWE Divas. So they'll eliminate derogatory-type names of moves yet keep fucking whores with their tits and asses hanging out as opposed to creating outfits for them that cover them up a bit more?
Great job, WWE!
