ECW Week 3

The arena goes dark as a video begins to play on the titantron. It shows a hooded man standing in a wrestling ring in an empty, dark arena, facing away from the camera.
Man- My destiny. ECW. The time is near...

The man turns towards the camera but his face is still shielded from the hood.

Man- It won’t be long now. I am coming. I am going extreme. Audiences, prepare yourselves...

The lights turn on in the arena and suddenly out of nowhere we see people in the seats, and the arena is full.

Man- I have waited oh so long for this opportunity. Fans, I won’t let you down. Mark my words, you will remember my name. You will cheer my name.

Fireworks start to go off in the arena and fans begin to cheer wildly, though it is too hard to make out what.

Man- The time is near. ECW. My destiny...

The man goes to take his hood off, but right before we are able to see his face, the video stops playing and we return to the ECW arena.

MATCH 1
Mark Henry v Finlay
(Extreme Rules)

The match begins and Finlay already has his shillelagh in his hand. He goes to hit Mark Henry but the Silverback bats the weapon out of Finlay’s hands. Henry then pushes Finlay before hitting him with a fireman’s carry gutbuster. Mark slides out of the ring in search of a weapon and goes to the edge of the ring. He pulls out a trash can, a steel chair, a cane and eventually the table. He takes the trash can lid and turns around, only to realise that Finlay is there with his shillelagh. Finlay strikes him with it, first in the gut, and then the head. He then clobbers Henry down with the steel chair, before pushing the table into the ring. Finlay slides in and sets up the table but when he goes back to the outside, Henry is waiting for him and hits him over the head with the trash can body. Henry places the can on the ground and then places Finlay on it. Henry then runs and splashes him onto the trash can, crumpling the piece of metal.

Henry throws Finlay in the ring and picks up the cane. He goes in the ring and hits Finlay with the cane relentlessly. Henry keeps going and hitting Finlay with the cane before finally stopping and beating his chest. Finlay tries to escape the pain and crawls away. He rests on the middle rope but then Henry runs and hits a senton splash through the ropes, choking Finlay in the process. While on the outside, Henry grabs Finlay’s own shillelagh and gets back in the ring. He goes to hit Finlay but Finlay grabs the cane from next to him and hits Mark in the hands, making him drop the shillelagh. He gets up and hits Mark three more times and then throws Henry on the table. In a rare occasion Finlay goes to the top rope, and jumps for a leg drop, but Mark moves out of the way and the Irishman crashes and burns. Henry picks up the downed Finlay and puts him in a bearhug. He squeezes the life out of him as the ref notices Finlay is not responding. He checks him for life but his hand falls all three times and the ref stops the match. Mark throws Finlay to the ground and roars in celebration.

WINNER- Mark Henry by KNOCKOUT in 13:04

John Morrison’s music plays and he and the Miz walk down to the ring, where furniture is set up for the Dirt Sheet.

Morrison- Welcome unworthy fans, to the Dirt Sheet presented by I, the Shaman of Sexy...

Miz- And I, the Chick Magnet...

Morrison- Consider yourselves lucky to be graced by our presence tonight, and make sure to tell your friends that you breathed the same air as the Tuesday Night Delight...

Miz- And the Sextreme Sensation...

Morrison- Tonight, our guests come straight from the retirement home!

Miz- Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman, these two has-beens think they are better than us? They think we are ruining ECW? Well we’ll show them, well send them crawling right back to the senior citizens club.

Morrison- So bring out the failures!

The Sandman’s music plays and he, along with Tommy Dreamer, makes his usual entrance through the crowd. With his Singapore cane in hand, Sandman rushes into the ring swinging, and the Miz and Morrison hide behind a couch.

Miz- Hey man, don’t even think about using that cane. You don’t want to take out the future of the business.

Sandman- I’ll get you two bastards, I’ll-

Morrison- We just wanted to ask you a few questions, that’s all. So just hear us out...

Dreamer- Go on...

Miz- First of all, how does it feel to be in the ring with greatness?

Sandman goes to swing at them but Dreamer stops him.

Dreamer- It feels... good...

Morrison- Secondly, do you two even think you would have a chance of beating us?

Sandman again is about to attack John Morrison and the Miz but Tommy stops him and whispers something in his ear.

Dreamer- I... don’t think so...

Miz- Finally, when will we finally see the time when you two washed-up geriatrics move on to the resignation office and stop dragging ECW down?

Sandman shows signs of attacking but then stops himself.

Dreamer- The time... is... NOW!

At this signal the Sandman suddenly goes wild with his cane and strikes both Morrison and Miz with it in the head. They fall to the ground and take some body shots with the cane and some boots from Dreamer but then they roll out of the ring and escape to the outside, where they try to recover.

Dreamer- You two do not want to mess with us again!

Suddenly Theodore Long’s music plays and he walks onto the stage.

Long- Sorry playas, but you guys are gonna have to mess with each other again. I see y’all have some legit beef in that ring, and I’m gonna let y’all vent that bottled up aggression with a match, right here, right now! It will be a tag team match pitting Tommy Dreamer and the Sandman against the Miz and John Morrison. It’s happenin’ now playas, so y’all best clear that stuff out of the ring.

Sandman smiles and kicks over a sofa. Dreamer picks up a table and throws it over the ropes at where Miz and Morrison are standing but they dodge it. They eventually clear the ring of all furniture, by breaking it all. Workers clean up the set as Morrison and Miz slide into the ring, rubbing their bruises.

MATCH 2
John Morrison +The Miz v Tommy Dreamer +The Sandman
(Tag Team)

Dreamer and Morrison begin in the ring and they lock up and Morrison gets the advantage with a chinlock. Tommy fights out with some back elbows but when he turns around he gets nailed with a European uppercut and then a roundhouse kick. Morrison tags in the Miz, who stomps on Tommy and then picks him up and hits him with an Inverted Stunner. Miz gets Tommy and whips him into the corner. He runs for his signature corner clothesline but Tommy moves and Miz gets his legs stuck on the bottom rope. Dreamer uses this chance to tag in the Sandman, who goes over to the Miz and pulls him away from the corner. Sandman spends some time wearing down Miz with striking maneuvers and afterwards lands a rolling fireman’s carry slam for a two count. Sandman then picks up Miz and goes for his signature White Russian Leg Sweep, but it gets countered into a running bulldog for a near fall. John Morrison in then tagged in and he and the Miz pick Sandman up and hit him with a double flapjack. Morrison covers, 1.....2..... Kick out.

Morrison rushes over to Sandman and hits him across the face with repeated forearms. Morrison picks him up and hits an inverted headlock backbreaker before going to the top rope. He jumps for the Starship Pain but Sandman moves at the last second and crawls to his corner. Morrison also goes for a tag and then Dreamer and Miz are tagged in at the same time. Miz runs for a clothesline but Dreamer moves and then puts him in a headlock, before hitting the Dreamer DDT! He covers, 1.....2..... Morrison breaks it up! Sandman runs in and takes Morrison out with a dropkick. Dreamer and Sandman then hit a double DDT on the Miz and Dreamer covers again. 1.....2..... Again John Morrison breaks up the pinfall! Now the Sandman has had enough and he goes to the corner of the ring where he keeps his Singapore cane. He goes to hit Morrison but then Dreamer stops him from getting disqualified. While the Sandman is distracted, Morrison steals the cane out of his hands and hits both Dreamer and Sandman, causing the referee to ring the bell. Miz recovers and he and Morrison beat down their opponents with the cane.

WINNERS- Tommy Dreamer +The Sandman by DISQUALIFICATION in 9:13

Chavo Guerrero is backstage with Bam Neely by his side. He is about to be interviewed by Todd Grisham.

Grisham- So Chavo, I hear you are taking place in a big fatal 4 way match tonight.

Chavo- Sí

Grisham- Ahh... so what are your thoughts going into that match?

Chavo- You want to know mis pensamientos?

Grisham- Err...

Chavo- My thoughts are simple Todd. I will win tonight. And if anyone thinks otherwise then usted es un idiota.

Grisham- Sorry, what are you-

Chavo- Shut up Todd, that’s what I’m talking about. Todd, take this time, to honour me, because I am better than you and I am better than everybody on this roster. And most of all, I am better than that estúpido Kazarian. Me and my man-

Bam- BAM!

Chavo- Me and my man Bam beat him and his little lackey Colt Cabana senseless last week and he’s un idiota if he thinks the same wont happen to him at Backlash. My era at the top restarts at Backlash, and I’m going to use Kazarian’s fallen body as a stepping stone to get back up there.

Grisham- Wow Chavo, well now I say gracias for the interview, haha.

Chavo- Shut up Todd.

Chavo walks away and Bam shoves Todd to the ground before following Guerrero.

MATCH 3
Christy Hemme v Cherry
(Single)

Hemme and Cherry go to lock up in the ring but before they can, Christy hits her with a vicious knee to the gut. Christy grabs her by the hair and throws her into the corner, where she unloads on her with vicious kicks. Cherry slumps down and Christy gets her with a facewash, before choking her out with her boot. The referee forces Hemme to let Cherry recover and as soon as she gets up, Christy puts her in an inverted headlock. She goes for the Twist of Christy but Cherry spins back to a standing basis and kicks her in the stomach. She then hits a running bulldog for a near fall. Cherry gets Christy in an armbar but Hemme fights to her feet. Cherry can’t keep hold so instead she twists the submission into an hammerlock. She goes for the Hammerlock DDT on Christy but Hemme uses her free hand to land punches to Cherry and make her to break the hold.

Christy then hits Cherry with a dropkick and then waits for her to get up, before hitting her straight in the face with a spinning heel kick. Hemme kicks her onto her back before going to the top rope. Christy taunts and then comes down with the Guillotine Legdrop, but Cherry moves! Cherry slowly get to her feet and boots Hemme who is on her knees. Cherry picks her up and gets some punches to the stomach, before getting her in a waistlock and landing a snap suplex. One again Cherry locks in a Hammerlock and goes for the DDT but Christy uses her free arm to grab Cherry’s head and then falls to the ground, hitting a jawbreaker. Christy then puts Cherry in a headlock and gets to her feet, before inverting it and hitting the Twist of Christy. Cherry lies motionless on the ground as Hemme picks her up and slaps her hard across the face. Cherry falls to the ground and Hemme covers, 1.....2.....3

WINNER- Christy Hemme by PINFALL in 4:05

Kazarian is walking backstage but then Rob Van Dam goes over to him and stops him.

RVD- Hey dude, can I have a word?

Kazarian- Sure, what’s up?

RVD- I just wanted to say that, even though I respect you, I will go through anyone to win tonight’s fatal 4 way. Even the WWE Light Heavyweight Champion.

Kazarian- You know what, I respect that, and I respect you too. But tonight, I will go through everyone to win tonight’s fatal 4 way. Even the ECW Champion.

Rob laughs and pats Kaz on the back.

RVD- Well you better be prepared, because the match is next. And good luck kid, but I’m sorry because the best you can hope for tonight is to come second.

RVD smirks and walks off as Kaz watches him exit with a small smile on his face.

MATCH 4
Chavo Guerrero v Sabu v Rob Van Dam v Kazarian
(Fatal 4 Way)

The bell rings and Sabu runs towards Rob Van Dam and starts attacking him, but then Kazarian separates them and takes out Sabu with a dropkick. Chavo then runs to Kazarian and from behind, he throws him through the ropes and out of the ring. RVD has recovered though and he kicks Chavo in the midsection. He knees him in the gut but then takes a forearm to the back from Sabu, who has gotten up. Sabu and Chavo double team RVD by hitting a double dropkick and then they simultaneously stomp on him. They pick Rob up but then see Kaz on the apron so they throw RVD at him to knock him back down to the floor. Chavo picks RVD up and lands a Northern Lights Suplex while Sabu goes to the top rope. Guerrero places Rob in front of the rope as Sabu prepares to jump. He does, but instead of hitting RVD he lands a crossbody block on Chavo and slides into a cover, 1.....2..... Guerrero rolls through and throws Sabu off him.

They both get up and Sabu picks Chavo up for a scoop slam piledriver but Chavo wriggles free and hits a Rolling Wheel Kick on Sabu. Chavo taunts and goes to the top rope. He is about to jump but then he sees Kazarian on the apron and hits him with a missile dropkick, knocking him back to the outside. Chavo laughs at him but then gets rolled up from behind by RVD. 1.....2..... Sabu breaks the count by hitting a springboard leg drop on both RVD and Guerrero. Sabu picks up Guerrero and throws him out of the ring where he lands on a recovering Kaz. He then stomps on Rob and rolls him onto his stomach, before stepping over him. Sabu locks in a Camel Clutch and chokes the life out of RVD. Rob fights however, and makes it to the ropes, forcing Sabu to break the hold. Sabu then kicks RVD into the ropes, which chokes him, and then he picks him up and nails a tornado DDT.

He sets RVD up in the middle of the ring, and then goes for a springboard moonsault, but when he reaches the ropes, Kazarian knocks his feet away and makes him stumble back to the mat. Kaz jumps onto the apron and waits for Sabu to get up, before slingshotting himself over the apron and hitting a double knee facebreaker on Sabu. He covers, 1.....2..... Chavo breaks the count. Chavo takes Kaz and puts him in position for the Gory Bomb, but Kazarian counters with a mule kick. He spins Chavo around before nailing the Flux Capacitor! He covers Guerrero, 1.....2..... No! Rob Van Dam breaks the pinfall by hitting a rolling thunder on top of Kaz. RVD picks Kaz up and whips him into the ropes, before hitting a monkey flip on the rebound and flipping Kaz right onto Sabu. RVD goes to the top rope and signals for the Five Star Frog Splash, but Chavo Guerrero goes to the corner and suplexes Rob off the top rope, before going there himself.

He jumps and hits his own Frog Splash on both Kaz and Sabu. He covers Kazarian, 1.....2..... Kaz gets his hand on the rope! Chavo looks bewildered and he picks up Kaz and throws him right onto RVD. He then turns around and picks up Sabu, going for a suplex. He hits two amigos but when he goes for the third Sabu stops himself and hits a brainbuster on Chavo, before going to the top rope. Sabu jumps and connects with the Arabian Facecrusher on Chavo, but before he can cover, RVD hits him with a huge roundhouse and goes to the top rope himself. Rob comes down with a big Five Star Frog Splash on Guerrero, but while Rob recovers from the impact, Kazarian crawls over to cover Chavo, 1.....2 RVD tries to go over and stop him, but it is no use, .....3! Kazarian wins and RVD looks rather down but Kaz offers a handshake and Rob nevertheless accepts it, before celebrating with Kaz to end the show.

Best Match: The Fatal Four Way Match, a good mix with all four participants. Many near falls and counters that made the match interesting until the end. I thought RVD will win but then Kaz pulls out the victory. Good job in this match.

Worst Match: Most of the matches are good but I think my least fave in this show is the women's match.

Best Promo: The Dirt Sheet, This duo always put some thrill in ECW. A good promo and it could be better if we see some thrash talks from Sandman and Dreamer.

Worst Promo: I am not really that interested with Chavo's promo but you still made it a good promo. It's all Chavo's fault! :D

Additional Feedback: A really good show here, too bad you're not going to continue this BTB as am I really getting interested to it :(. I say good luck with your new BTB and I hope it will be more interesting than this.

Well this BTB is officially over. I chose to end it because I just got sick of it and realised I didn't like the storylines so much. I'll just post the rest of the unfinished stuff now for any of you guys to see. Thanks to all that review and I pride myself on this being my most successful BTB to date, hopefully it solidified me as a formidable BTBer on the site.

Smackdown Week 3

MATCH 1
Carlito +Eric Perez v Jesse +Festus
(Tag Team)

The bell rings as Festus goes crazy, and attacks the Puerto Rican Nightmares, but then Jesse subdues him and he goes to the apron. Festus agitatedly walks around in his corner as Jesse starts off in the ring with Carlito. Carlito pokes Jesse in the eye while he isn’t focused and then hits a spinning neckbreaker to start the action. Carlito stomps on Jesse’s back before dropping a knee onto his spine. He continues to target the back by hitting an STO backbreaker and then a handspring elbow drop to the back. Perez is tagged in and he launches some vicious stomps in the direction of Jesse’s back. Eric then locks in a Boston crab to stretch out Jesse’s back and apply pressure to it. Perez lifts him onto his shoulders and goes for the Puerto Bomb, but Jesse reverses it into a hurricanrana, taking Perez down. Jesse crawls over to make a tag, but Carlito rushes illegally into the ring and pulls Jesse back. As the referee restrains Carlito, Perez goes to hit a low blow on Jesse, but he gets dropkicked away before he has the chance.

Jesse finally then manages to get the tag to Festus and the Corn Fed Colossus cleans house, big booting Perez before knocking Carlito off the apron. Eric gets up but is soon taken back down with a leaping shoulder block and then Festus hits him with the running seated senton. He picks him up and hits him with a flapjack before tagging in Jesse, who immediately goes to the top rope. Jesse comes down for the Diving Leg Drop but Carlito pulls Perez out of the way. Festus rushes in and hits Carlito with a big boot, but the Perez low blows him behind the referee’s back and then throws him out of the ring. Eric goes to Jesse and hits him with a side slam backbreaker, before lifting him up onto his shoulders. Jesse is in position for the Puerto Bomb, but instead Carlito rushes in and hits an elevated Backstabber to Jesse, in an innovative tag team maneuver. Perez makes the cover, 1.....2.....3

WINNERS- Carlito +Eric Perez by PINFALL in 8:30

After the match, the winning team grabs microphones and is set to address the crowd. Carlito talks and reveals that Eric Perez is his cousin, and he brought him here to take over the tag division on Smackdown. Perez says that they will restore some pride into Latin American wrestlers. The LAX come out and disagree, saying they are the most successful Latin American tag team and that they will prevail at Backlash. The WWE Tag Team Champions then come out and taunt their challengers. Kendrick says that his man Ezekiel is unstoppable and he will mow through Hernandez tonight. Carlito and Perez chime in saying that the Puerto Rican Nightmares are out to get both of them, before walking off.

MATCH 2
Ezekiel v Hernandez
(Single)

This is a typical big man match, and it begins with both men trying to gain a power advantage over the other with shows of strength. They lock up but then Ezekiel lands a cheap shot in on Hernandez’s jaw and takes control. Ezekiel beats the large Mexican down with crushing fists and forearms, before grounding him and then beating him with kicks and stomps. Afterwards, he works him down with various power moves including a side slam and falling backbreaker. He then locks in a sleeper, but with cheering from Homicide and the crowd, Hernandez manages to escape from the sleeper. He decks Ezekiel with a punch and then a big boot. He goes to bound off the ropes, but Kendrick grabs his foot from the outside. As the referee tells Kendrick off, Homicide slides in the ring and delivers a low blow to Ezekiel, fueled by revenge, before sliding back out. Hernandez turns around and picks Ezekiel up, before throwing him back down with the Border Toss. He covers, 1.....2.....3 Homicide gets in the ring and celebrates with his tag team partner over the win.

WINNER- Hernandez by PINFALL in 6:54

Edge is inside the ring to host the Cutting Edge. He talks himself up before bringing in his rival and brother Christian cage. Edge asks Cage degrading questions including asking why he is inferior, and why he reeks of fail. Cage responds by comically cutting down Edge and saying that the interview would be more appropriate if Edge had conducted it on himself. Edge calls Cage scum and says he will never escape his shadow. Christian goes to attack Edge after hearing this but then the Rated R Superstar slides out of the ring and the Big Show runs down the ramp and slides in the ring, beginning to attack Christian. However, Jeff Hardy then runs down to the ring to aid Cage and the two teams are separated from each other and put on different sides of the ring for their match.

MATCH 3
Edge +The Big Show v Christian Cage +Jeff Hardy
(Tag Team)

Hardy and Show begin in the ring together as Jeff tries to gain an early advantage with a dropkick that the Big Show simply shakes off. Hardy goes over to Show and attempts to kick him in the midsection but his foot is grabbed. However, Hardy manages to spin himself out and hit a mule kick on the Big Show, but the Giant is still not taken down. Hardy goes to grab Show, but he simply laughs and grabs Jeff by the throat. He lifts him for the Showstopper, but Hardy boots him in the abdomen and drops down into a sitout jawbreaker, which makes Show sway. Hardy tries to take advantage of Show being stunned and tags Christian in. Hardy and Cage then hit a double dropkick on Show and then a double Russian leg sweep that finally takes the World’s Largest Athlete off his feet. Cage waits for Show to get to his knees before hitting him with a DDT and then going to the top rope. Cage motions for the Frog Splash, but then Edge walks across the apron and pushes Cage off the top rope and down to the floor.

The referee warns Edge not to do this again as in the meantime, Cage and Show both recover simultaneously. Cage goes to Irish whip the Big Show, but he himself is sent into the corner. Show goes for a corner splash but at the last second Cage moves and the Big Show goes hard into the turnbuckle. He then calls Hardy into the ring and kneels in front of the turnbuckle, while Hardy uses him as a platform to go for Poetry in Motion on the Big Show, but at the last second Show moves and Hardy only hits turnbuckle. Show staggers to his corner and manages to tag Edge in. Edge immediately runs in and spears Hardy and sends him rolling out of the ring, before turning around to face Christian, the legal man. Edge is about to punch Christian but then stops, waves goodbye, and rolls out of the ring. Edge walks back up the ramp to Christian’s bewilderment as the referee counts, 1...2...3...4...5...Edge is showing no signs of coming back, 6...7...8...9...10.

WINNERS- Christian Cage +Jeff Hardy by COUNTOUT in 10:46

At the end of the interview he cockily shoves Josh Matthews to the floor and walks off.

MATCH 4
Number One Contendership to the Diva’s Championship for Natalya
Natalya v Michelle McCool
(Single)

The match begins with Natalya on the offensive, as she wants to get her title shot, but Michelle McCool is holding her own at countering Natalya and stopping her from taking control. The tide of the match changes when Michelle goes from defensive to offensive but it is to her own demise, as she misses a boot to the gut and gets slammed into the canvas. Natalya repeatedly slams McCool’s face into the mat before grabbing her by the hair, lifting her high into the air, and slamming her down one last time. Natalya goes to lock in the Sharpshooter but Michelle tries to reverse it into the Heel Hook, but Natalya kicks her away. She picks McCool up and drops her on her knees, before continuing to wear Michelle’s legs by sliding out of the ring and slamming them many times into the ring post. Natalya gets back in the ring and continues to decimate Michelle, picking her up and hitting her with a piledriver, with shades of her uncle Bret. Natalya covers for a very near fall and then lets out an ear splitting scream, before crossing McCool’s legs and putting her in the Sharpshooter. Michelle taps out almost instantly and Natalya is declared the winner.

WINNER- Natalya by SUBMISSION in 5:38

Torrie Wilson was on commentary during the match and she steps away from the announcing table. Natalya grabs a mic post match and says that the match is official and that she will face Torrie for the Diva’s title. Torrie says that she has been a fighting champion since she won the title but Natalya calls her lucky and says that her lucks has run out. Natalya walks off and motions for the title around her waist.

MATCH 5
Shelton Benjamin +Chavo Guerrero v R-Truth +Kazarian
(Tag Team)

Chavo and Truth begin in the ring, and lock up with Truth hitting a hip toss to gain an advantage. Truth shows his innovative offense with various aerobatic and gymnastic moves, including a corkscrew dropkick. He goes for his signature corkscrew springboard forearm on Chavo but the Mexican Warrior ducks the blow and tags in Shelton. Benjamin takes Truth down with a snap powerslam, and then wears the United States champion down with a shoulder stretch. He focuses on Truth’s one body part, throwing him into the ring post shoulder first and then covering him for a near fall. Chavo is tagged in and he continues to isolate Truth, and work on his shoulder. He stretches Truth’s neck with a modified head scissors, before continuing the damage with an array of knees to his neck and shoulder. Chavo picks Truth up and catches him with an arm drag continued into an arm bar, further weakening Truth’s shoulder. Chavo crawls over to his corner and tags Shelton in, while Truth is still in the submission.

Shelton goes to the defenseless Truth and stomps on his vulnerable shoulder, which the US Champ can’t protect. The referee eventually forces Chavo to release and Shelton picks Truth up, before nailing him with a shoulder breaker. He covers for a two count before stalking him in waiting. Truth gets up after a period of time and Shelton goes for the paydirt, but then Truth reverses it into a Rock Bottom like maneuver. Truth crawls to the corner using his good shoulder, and manages to finally bring Kaz into the match. Kazarian comes in like a house of fire, springing off the ropes to hit a jumping DDT on Shelton, before running off the ropes and hitting a springboard splash for a near fall. Kaz picks Shelton up and kicks him in the legs before going for the Flux Capacitor. He tries for the move, but Shelton kicks him away and tags in Chavo. Chavo taunts Kaz but out of nowhere is hit with a roundhouse to the face. Kazarian goes for the Wave of the Future but Chavo stops him and rolls him into a small package, 1.....2.....3 The challengers with this match. After the match Shelton picks up Truth’s United States championship and holds it up, before throwing it to the ground and making motions around his waist, signaling he wants the belt.

WINNERS- Shelton Benjamin +Chavo Guerrero by PINFALL in 15:21

Triple H is backstage with Eve Torres. She asks him about his match up next and he responds by saying that MVP isn’t ready to play the game tonight. He says that at Backlash, the King of Kings will go back upon his throne and there is nothing Montel can do about it. He says that he will regain the title he lost at Wrestlemania and that MVP will fall victim to the cerebral assassin. Triple H leaves commenting that Eve has a nice rack, leaving the interviewer embarrassed.

MATCH 6
WWE Championship Tournament
MVP v Triple H
(Single)

The match begins very back and forth with both men resorting to brawling for the first few minutes. HHH gets thrown into the corner and MVP mounts him with punches, before hitting him with an uppercut and a dropkick that turns the match in his favor. Montel gets a little more technical, continuing an inverted headlock into a reverse DDT for a near fall. MVP continues to attack Hunter’s head, pressing knees into the back of his skull. HHH mounts a comeback after escaping a headlock and hits his signature facebreaker knee smash and he goes for a spinebuster, but MVP kicks him away before hitting a facebreaker knee smash of his own. Montel goes to follow up with the Ballin’ elbow but HHH moves and manages a better comeback. He fights back with hard fists and chops and eventually hits the double AA spinebuster, but he is disappointed to gain only a near fall. HHH then goes for the pedigree, but MVP backs him into the corner, before hitting the Playa’s Boot. Hunter slumps to the ground and is covered, 1.....2..... Kick Out! MVP is frustrated and kicks HHH in the stomach before waiting for him to get to his knees. He then lunges and hits the Drive by Kick! MVP covers, 1.....2.....3! He is going to fight for the WWE title at Backlash!

The bell rings and Sabin immediately rushes towards Cade and hits him with rights and lefts, trying to wear him down early. Cade manages to stop Sabin and knee him in the gut amid the frenzy of punches. Sabin holds his stomach and Cade goes for a clothesline but it is ducked. Sabin then kicks Cade in the back of the legs, making him sink to his knees. Chris then hits him with a dropkick to the back, making him slump to the ground. Sabin then knees Lance in the shoulder before grabbing his arm and twisting it into an armbar. Sabin puts strain on Cade’s shoulder but Lance uses his strength to push himself along the ground until he reaches the ropes, forcing Sabin to break the hold. Chris goes to pick Cade up but Lance pulls Sabin’s leg away from the ropes, causing his upper body to fall forward. Sabin lands in an awkward position, choking himself on the top rope. Lance then uses the ropes to get up and taunts Sabin, who is resting on the ropes gasping for breath.

Lance then paces back from where Sabin is and measures him. He then runs towards the ropes and goes to big boot Sabin over the top rope but Chris moves at the last second and Cade crotches himself. Lance is hung up on the top rope and is immobile so Sabin uses his chance and goes up to the top rope. Chris then plays to the crowd before jumping and hitting a missile dropkick, knocking Cade to the outside. Sabin lands in the ring and goes over to the ropes closest to where Lance is on the floor. Chris waits for Cade to get to his feet, and then he vaults himself over the top rope and takes Cade down with a crossbody to the outside. Sabin gets up to cheering from the crowd who are on their feet. He picks Lance up and goes to roll him into the ring but Cade doesn’t let him, and pushes off the apron. He then grabs Sabin and whips him, sending him straight into the steel steps at the corner of the ring. Cade then picks him up and bashes his head against the ring post, before rolling him in the ring. He then slides in himself.

Cade stomps on the weakened Sabin and shouts in his face arrogantly. He then walks to the corner and climbs to the second rope, before jumping for a fist drop and landing it, sending his fist right into Sabin’s head. Lance then bounces off the ropes for momentum and nails Sabin with a running leg drop, impacting his thigh into Chris’s chest. Cade picks Sabin up and whips him into the ropes, before bending over to hit a back body drop. However, Sabin sees this and stops before reaching Cade, before hitting him square in the face with a front snap kick. Cade is about to fall back but then Sabin whips him into the ropes. Chris jumps for a dropkick when Lance rebounds back, but Cade grabs the ropes to stop himself and Sabin crashes into the mat. Cade waits for Chris to get back up and when he does; he turns right into a huge spinebuster from Lance. The champ covers, 1.....2..... Sabin kicks out to an ovation from the crowd!

Cade picks Sabin up and catches him with a right handed uppercut, before kicking him in the gut and setting up for the Cade Bomb. He goes for his finisher but then Sabin manages to get his legs up and reverse it mid move into a hurricanrana. Cade gets thrown through the ropes and out of the ring from the force and he rests on the outside. Sabin goes over to the edge of the ring but then Cade jumps onto the apron. Sabin tires to hit a forearm but it is blocked and Cade pulls Chris’s upper body down onto the top rope, sending him bouncing down to the mat. Lance gets on the apron and climbs to the top rope from there. He is about to jump for the diving lariat but then Sabin gets up and walks towards the corner. Sabin punches Cade in the jaw before hooking his arms and going for a suplex. Lance grabs onto the ropes behind him but Sabin kicks his hands away and manages to hit the suplex from the top rope! Sabin then climbs to the top rope and goes for the Somersault Leg Drop but as he comes down for the move, Lance Cade rolls away and rolls out of the ring. He walks down the ramp and has obviously had enough. 1...2...3...4...5...6... Sabin recovers in the ring and is shocked to see Lance walking off. 7...8...9...10 Sabin wins by countout, the champion retains.

Mercury dominates Kofi again and hits a vertical suplex neckbreaker for a near fall. He then lifts Kofi for the Snapshot, but Kingston floats over and lands a high angle dropkick. Kingston sets up for the Trouble in Paradise, but Mercury ducks it and lifts Kofi up before nailing the Snapshot for the three count!

Katie Lea walks down to the ring accompanied by her brother, ready to explain why she faked being British. She takes a mic and gets right to the point, saying the reason was that she hated America and Americans. She said that she despises this country and all that it represents, and that is why she posed as a Brit, because she wanted to be a better person, and because she didn’t want to associate herself with America. Melina then comes out with Jack Gabriel and she says that even though she has Latin American heritage, she still respects the USA and takes pride in it. Melina says that she will take the title off Katie with the help of the American fans cheering her on. Katie responds by saying that if she wants to get to Backlash she will have to get through her upcoming match.

MATCH 3
Beth Phoenix v Melina
(Special Referee: Katie Lea Burchill)

The match begins with Beth immediately dominating and taking advantage of Melina with power moves, wearing her down. Beth doesn’t focus on a body part but instead completely decimates every part of Melina. Beth hits a delayed vertical suplex and there is a fast count from Katie, but Melina still manages to kick out somehow. Beth continues the damage and later in the match goes for the Down in Flames but Melina slips down and nails a hurricanrana. Both divas get up and Melina hits a dropkick before going to the top rope. She is about to jump down but Katie then pushes her down to the floor below. Katie then makes an extremely fast count and counts out Melina before she can get back into the ring, making Beth the winner.

WINNER- Beth Phoenix by COUNTOUT

Kane and Abyss walk down to the ring with their masks on and microphones. They say how much they will enjoy inflicting pain on four different souls at Backlash. They say they will emerge as the winners and champions and the others will be sent to the bloody depths of hell. They are interrupted by Team 3D who say that they are not cowards and that they will come out of Backlash as champions. Bubba says that blood is thicker than water and that’s why he and Devon will win, but Kane responds to this by saying how much he loves blood leaving Team 3D looking rather nervous. Rey Mysterio and El Generico then come out and Rey says that their fighting spirit will allow them to take the World Tag Team Championships. Generico simply shouts ‘Ole’ and the three teams run at each other and begin to brawl, but are quickly separated by officials.

MATCH 4
Kane v D-Von Dudley v Rey Mysterio
(Triple Threat)

All three competitors have their partners at ringside, at different edges of the ring. The bell rings and for a short while there is some clustered action with every man attacking whoever is closest. The match settles down after Kane is sent out of the ring after a hurricanrana from Rey. On the outside, Abyss watches over and protects his partner while on the inside, Devon gets the better of Mysterio with some power moves, including an impressive looking front powerslam for a near fall. Eventually Kane recovers and gets back into the ring, where he immediately takes D-Von down with a big boot. Kane then throws Devon out before dominating Mysterio with some more high impact moves, including his side slam and diving clothesline combination. After wearing down Mysterio, Kane goes for a Chokeslam, but Rey reverses it into a Tornado DDT.

The subsequent pin in broken up by Devon, who is back in the ring and looks pissed. He goes to throw Rey out of the ring but he skins the cat and remains on the apron. Devon hits Kane with a DDT but when he turns around he sees Rey about to do a springboard move, only for him to get pulled to the floor by Bubba-Ray. On the outside Generico then goes to hit Bubba with a dropkick but gets taken down by Abyss before he has a chance. Inside the ring, Devon and Kane are going at it with tests of strength and then Mysterio climbs to the top rope without them seeing. He is about to jump on Devon and Kane, but he then sees Abyss hammering down on Generico on the outside, and instead jumps to the floor and takes out Abyss. Meanwhile, Kane sees his partner being taken out and becomes infuriated, but then Devon blindsides him with a Falling Reverse DDT from behind, followed by the 1, 2, 3.

WINNER- D-Von Dudley by PINFALL

MATCH 5
World Heavyweight Championship Tournament
Chris Jericho v CM Punk
(Single)

A very technical match here with Punk working Jericho over with kicks early on, only for the tables to turn after a rake to the eye. Jericho focuses on Punk’s legs, and attacks them by throwing them into the ringpost. Chris goes for the Walls of Jericho but Punk twists over and powers out. They have some even offense before Punk connects with the knee lift and bulldog combo in the corner and then goes to the top rope. Punk comes down with a Moonsault Elbow Drop but only gets a two count. Punk works over Jericho with some submissions and more kicks. Eventually the action spills to the outside and Punk goes to ram Jericho into the ring apron but it is reversed and Punk gets forced into the steel steps. Jericho gets in the ring but Punk also gets back in at the referee’s count of 9, narrowly avoiding being counted out.

Jericho immediately goes for the Codebreaker but Punk holds onto the rope. Punk goes for the GTS but Jericho floats over and hits the breakdown. Jericho again works over the legs and for the second time goes for the Walls of Jericho and this time locks it in, only for Punk to reach the ropes. Jericho hits an enzugiri and then goes for the Lionsault but Punk rolls out of the way. Punk gets up and goes to the top rope but then Randy Orton comes running down to the ring and distracts Punk, allowing Jericho to get to his feet and walk over to the corner. Chris ascends the corner and goes for a superplex but Punk reverses it into the Pepsi Plunge. Orton gets onto the apron but then Punk knocks him off before pinning Jericho and gaining the three count.

WINNER- CM Punk by PINFALL

Booker calls him a peasant and says he must worship the king of Raw. Booker walks down to the ring and tells the downed Punk to kiss his feet. Punk refuses but then Orton and Jericho hold him in place and make him kiss Booker’s feet. Orton then RKOes Booker and throws Jericho out of the ring. He then sets up Punk and knocks him with a huge punt kick. The show ends with Orton standing tall over the two men facing each other at Backlash.

Throughout the match, Steen put Harris through two tables, firstly after a Steenalizer and then after a crossbody splash off a ladder, but Harris kicked out both times. He bullied Truth with very physical maneuvers, and even hit his finisher on the United States Champion, though the impact caused Truth to roll out of the ring. Eventually R-Truth made a comeback against the Intercontinental champion and used various aerobatic maneuvers to combat his sheer strength. The finish came when Truth set up for the Scissor Spin but then Shelton Benjamin ran down the aisle to distract him. Cade took the opportunity to hit a low blow and when he went for his finisher, Chris Sabin ran down to the ring, only to have Jack Swagger follow him and take him out. This second distraction was enough for Truth to roll Cade up for the win at 10:32.

Grudge Match
Batista v John Cena
(Last Man Standing)

The match begins with the two competitors staring each other down. John Cena goes to lock up but Batista pushes him away into the ropes. Cena tries again to grapple but Batista doesn’t want to and instead he grabs Cena and hits him with some punches to the chest. He backs Cena into the corner and continues striking, and because of the rules the referee can’t do anything about it. However, Cena manages to push the Animal away and deliver some right hands of his own. Cena begins to attack Batista with punches himself, but then Batista connects with a haymaker that knocks Cena to his knees. Cena gets up but Batista puts him into a side headlock and wrenches his neck. Cena doesn’t allow himself to be worn down though and he spins himself out of the hold. Both men are face to face once again and glaring at each other, with sweat dripping off their foreheads and both panting heavily.
They lock up and Batista gets Cena in another side headlock, before whipping him into the ropes. Cena comes flying back and Batista goes for a clothesline but Cena moves out of the way and keep running. He then rebounds off the opposite ropes and hits Tista with a flying shoulder block. Batista is down and Cena motions for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle but when he runs to the ropes for the move, Batista rolls away and out of the ring, to catch his breath.

Cena follows and rolls out of the ring, before walking over to Batista, who is resting on the apron. Cena catches him with a right hand to the jaw and goes to grab him, but then Batista boots Cena in the gut. He grabs the Chain Gang Commander and rams him into the ring apron, making him hold his back in pain. Batista grabs him again and drives him back into the side of the ring once more. Batista pulls Cena away and then pushes him into the apron a final time, and after this third blow, Cena slumps to the floor, holding his back in pain.
The referee begins to count but Cena uses the ring apron to pick himself up off the ground. Cena staggers away from Batista but the Animal follows and whips Cena into the ring post back first, crushing his spine in the process. Batista then picks up Cena and drags him over to the announcing tables. He goes to drive Cena into the table’s edge, but Cena connects with a knee to the gut. He then kicks Batista in the stomach before Irish whipping him into the table. Batista hits the announce table front first and his momentum sends him rolling across the table and onto the floor on the other side, making the announcer’s scatter from the area. The referee counts,

Cena walks over to Batista and picks him up. He punches him in the gut before throwing him into the barricade behind him. Cena boots Batista in the gut over and over again. The referee pleads with him to stop but Cena refuses and keeps kicking away at Batista, to a very loud mixed reaction from the crowd.

Cena then throws Batista back over the announce table, and he is sent rolling over it, before hitting the floor on the other side of it. Cena gets up onto the announce table and waits for Batista to start getting up. Batista gets to his feet slowly and bends over to catch his breath, and this is when Cena strikes. He jumps for the Diving Fame Asser but Batista instinctively moves, as if he knew the move would be coming. Batista catches his breath as Cena painfully uses the announce table to pull himself back to a standing basis. Batista goes over to Cena and clubs him with a forearm but Cena responds with a punch to the gut. Cena then hits a hard uppercut before climbing onto the announce table. Batista soon follows and the two trade punches on top of the table. Cena eventually gets an upper hand before raking the eyes of Batista to boos from the crowd and lifting him on his shoulders. Cena goes for the FU but Batista struggles his way back down, before nailing Cena with a Spinebuster, taking him through the table.

The table lies broken on the ground with both Batista and Cena lying in its wreckage. The referee begins counting to go with the Last Man Standing rules of the match.

Batista connects with another punch to Cena’s jaw and then goes and looks under the ring for a weapon. Batista pulls out a chair and throws it to the side, before searching even further and pulling out a trash can. Batista turns around, having found what he wanted, but then sees John Cena standing up behind him with the steel chair in his hand. Cena whacks Tista across the side of the head with the chair and the Animal falls to the ground. Cena wails on Batista with the chair, hitting him in the back a number of times. The referee counts as Batista is down,

Batista’s perseverance allows him to get back up to his feet using the ring apron to pull himself up.

Cena drops the chair and goes over to the trash can that Batista retrieved from under the ring. He takes the lid off and inside the trash can it is revealed that there is a Singapore Cane. Cena picks up the cane and walks back to Batista. He swings it at the Animal but Tista ducks. John tries again to hit him with the cane but this time Batista bats it out of his hand before he can hit him. Batista then suddenly regains all him energy and out of nowhere nails John Cena with a Spear! John Cena rolls around on the ground holding his stomach as Batista picks up the cane. He strikes Cena with it in the stomach and chest and then pulls it across his arm and hits a standing elbow drop to the throat, with the cane choking Cena. Batista picks up Cena and throws him into the ring apron, before rolling him into the ring. Tista then slides the chair, the cane and the trash can into the ring, before going back under the ring to search for more. Batista takes out a spool of barbed wire from under the ring and then pulls out a large table. He slides these into the ring before rolling in himself.

Batista places the table in the corner of the ring and then grabs the spool of barbed wire. He also takes the cane and then wraps the wire around the cane, making it an even more dangerous weapon. Batista takes this dangerous cane and goes to hit Cena with it, but before he does, Cena realises the danger and rolls out of the ring to the outside. Batista follows him with the cane and Cena runs around the outside of the ring, picking up the trash can lid on his way. Cena runs up the ramp with Batista in hot pursuit. Batista runs after Cena up the ramp and onto the stage. Referees come out and state that Cena must remain in the ring area or he loses. Cena turns around and swings the trash can lid at Batista, but it is knocked away by the cane. Batista then strikes Cena in the chest with the barbed wire cane. Cena falls to the ground and Batista scrapes the cane across his back, busting him open. Batista rubs some of Cena’s blood onto John’s own face and stomps on his fallen body.

Batista takes John and strikes him once more in the back with the cane, before picking him up. Batista gives John the thumbs down and then picks him up. He brings John down with a huge Batista Bomb right onto the stage.

He slams the lid onto Cena and then picks him up, hitting him with a powerslam right onto the lid. Batista then takes Cena and puts him in a sleeper hold. In the submission, he drags John all the way back to the ring. He eventually releases the hold and rolls Cena into the ring. Batista then goes back up the ramp to grab the cane and throws it into the ring.

Batista slides into the ring himself and immediately picks up the steel chair upon entry he hits Cena a few times with the steel chair and then places it on the ground. He puts Cena on the chair and stomps on him, before hitting a knee drop. Batista then picks Cena up and lifts him onto his shoulders in position for the Batista Bomb, but Cena falls forward and drops back a bit, hitting a falling Lou Thesz press on Batista. Cena struggles with the ropes to get to his feet but Batista is fresher and in already up. Tista takes the steel chair again and quickly whacks Cena across the face with it, sending him slumping back down to the canvas, with his face busted open. Batista grabs the spool of barbed wire and uses the last of it by wrapping it around the table set up in the corner, so that anyone who goes through it experiences even more pain. Cena uses the ropes to get himself up but then Batista nails him with a big boot, before dragging him to the corner and placing him against the table.

Batista runs at Cena from the opposite corner and goes for a Spear, but at the last second Cena falls to the side and Batista flies head first through the barbed wire table, breaking it in half and leaving Tista busted open at the skull. Hardy falls to the ground as MVP rolls out of the ring and grabs a steel chair from under Justin Roberts and throws it in the ring. He hits Hardy across his back with the chair, before handing it to him, and delivering a thundering Drive by Kick to Hardy’s skull, with the steel from the chair increasing the impact. He hits him once more with the chair, before taking off one of his chains that he wears around his neck. He strikes Hardy with the chain and then chokes him with it. He hits Hardy with a Playmaker while he is being choked by the bling. MVP throws the chain out, before going to the corner and taking the covering off one of the turnbuckles. He picks up Hardy before throwing him into the corner and smashing his head into the ringpost. He then paces backwards and hits the Playa’s Boot, sending the back of Hardy’s skull into the exposed turnbuckle, busting him open badly. MVP then ducks out of the ring and looks for something under the ring. He takes it out and it is the Money in the Bank briefcase! He signals for a referee to get to the ring and start a new match as he hits Hardy with the briefcase, before also cashing it in. The referee there for the previous match runs back down, and the bell is rung, signifying a new title match.

Because there are so many shows to review here, my reviews will be shorter than usual. Sad to see this BTB go, I really liked it.

ECW Review
BM: Main Event- The ending is what made it for me. The way the Kaz stole the win was perfect. A good mach all the way through.
WM: Hemme squash- It was better than some of the past Hemme squashes, but it was the worst match of the night.
BP: The Dirt Sheet- There wasn't much from Sandman and Dreamer, but you write Miz and Morrison very well. The match that cam after it was a bit disapointing because of the DQ.
WP: RVD/Kaz promo- to generic.
Random Thoughts: The preshow didn't really look all that good... The opening promo was an interesting way to start off the show... The extreme rules match was really good. It was action packed and it just missed being match of the week... Line of the Night: Shut up Todd...
Final Thoughts: This was a good show. Decent length. I was kinda disapointed that we didn't see who was under the hood.

SD Review
BM: Edge/Show vs. Cage/Hardy- I liked the ending. It keeps the fans hungry for the Edge vs. Christian match
WM: Zeke vs. Hernandez- It just didn't interest me.
BP: Cutting Edge- This is a segment that I would like to see in real life.
WP: I wouldn't say that any of them were bad or deserve to be called worst.
Random Thoughts: The final match of the preshow sounded pretty good... The Puerto Bomb/Backstabber sounds like a sick move... The promo after the opening match was a good transition into the next match... It think it would have been cool for Matthews to attack MVP at the end of that promo. lol... As sad as it is, HHH say that Eve has a nice rack is the most in character line of the night... Holy crap, MVP won. Did not expect that...
Final Thoughts: How this show was formated wasn't the greatest, but this was a really good show storylinewise. The promos felt extremely rushed. Other than that, this was a great show.

Raw Review
BM: Cade vs. Sabin- Even though it ended like it did, this was a very entertaining match.
WM: I have to say the women's match. It just wasn't that good. The countout didn't help it any.
BP: Katie Lea promo- She had a good reason for claiming to be a Brit. I thought that you had backed yourself into a corner with this one, but you found a way out.
WP: The tag teams- There was just something that I didn't like about this one. Couldn't tell you what it was though because I don't know myself
Random Thoughts: Heat- The Winners appear on Raw next week stip made me laugh... Good to see Mercury pick up the win over the spot monkey... The triple threat match was very good, just shy of match of the show... The ending of the show was pretty cool. Orton FTW.
Final Thoughts: I thought that this show would be funny detailed after reading the first match, but I was mistaken. There was only three promos and they really wern't the greatest. An okay show, but it was still enjoyable.

ECW Review
Because there is so little detail in this show I'm just gonna do a random thoughts style of review.
The preshow sounded like a damn good show. Hell it sounded better than the actual show... The first three matches felt like squashes... The 6 man tag sounded like it would have been good if it was detailed... Overall, this was a disapointing show. Even if it was fully detailed; the card sounded kind of crappy... We're not going to find out who was under that hood, are we?...

SD Review
This one had a good card. I would've liked a bit more detail, but it was okay. What you had there got the point across.

Backlash Review
Preshow- The Extreme rules match sounded sick! I would have loved to have seen this match.
Tag Title Match- A title change to kick off the show makes this show feel important.
Edge vs. Christian- It was kind of disapointing how this match started, but you really didn't give it an ending. It started out good though. I wish you would have put the ending to the match.
WHC Match- I'm thinking Otron did something to make this match end in No Contest.
Last Man Standing- This match looks big, or maybe that's just the font. This was a freaking awesome match. The best match of your that I have read. Holy crap, I don't think words can explain hom much I liked this. Seeing barbed wire in a Cena match was crazy. Some of the spots in this felt like something I would see in a deathmatch. great job on this one, you should be proud of it.
WWE Title Matches- This was a great angle to end the show. MVP just got pushed to the moon right here.
Final Thoughts- This was a good way to end this BTB. As I said before I liked this BTB and it's sad to see it go. Oh well, all the best, and I'll check out your next project when I get the chance.
