Who remembers Rocky Maivia? No, not The Rock: The People's Champ, I'm talking about Rocky Maivia, the "Blue Chipper" who debuted in 1996 at the Survivor Series. Needless to say he wasn't a draw, nor was he "the most electrifying man on earth". He sucked because he didn't have any type of gimmick other than being a face that smiled a whole lot, and was shilled and put over to death by the announcers. Anyhow, he wasn't taken seriously, and after awhile, he was drummed out of arenas by the thousands of boos courtesy of the fans.

Present Day: I think it's safe to say the next "Blue Chipper" is without a doubt Kofi Kingston.

So far:

Character Depth: Zero
Mic Skills: Zero
Heel Transition Reality: Zero
Character Evolution factor: Zero

Think about it..Do you really see Kofi Kingston able to transition to a worthy heel capable to talking up a storm on the mic and evolving from anything other than a "nice looking guy" who smiles a lot? I don't.

The thing is, why do you judge a character on his ability to evolve into a heel?

His mic skills? He is acceptable. He is a jamaican happy guy, and he sounds like one.

As for the rest, and your comparison with Rocky Maivia, Kofi has one thing that Rocky didn't: flashy moves. And in WWE, that alone guarantees to get someone over, and keep him over for a while (see Evan Bourne).

To anwer you question, his jamaican character is not designed to "take" a heel turn. If he ever does turn heel, he will have to distance himself from this persona. I will not comment on that as I haven't seen any of Kofi's work on OVW or FCW, nor any promo of his without his funny accent.

Neither do I. The comparision is insane, lol.
And seeing as you also don't think he will be the next rock type guy (noone does) what's the point here? Noone will argue with you on this one, because Kofi and Rock are nothing alike.

I can see Kofi being a solid midcard face for his entire career, and maybe getting a break like Rey Mysterio, to have a short world title run (of course, he would have to hope a close friend who was in line for a title shot dies first), but he's nothing great.

Being a Blue Chipper doesn't necessarily mean he is gonna make a heel turn. I dont really think you can compare Kofi to the Rock.

But I can tell He is going to have a big future.... plus has the rock ever done a perfect 540 kick?(j/k)

But really Kofi has mic skills, he has Character Depth( a Happy-Go-Lucky Jamaican who takes on all challenges), i dont see how his character could evolve but im sure if WWE keeps doing what they are with Kofi he could ATLEAST be ECW champ... i mean Cm Punk was World Champ, Tag Team Champ, and ECW champ all in 2008, so Im Sure Kofi can do it too....

I don't know so much if I was comparing Kofi to The Rock, just using the Rock as an example of what a "Blue Chipper" is. If that's what it seemed like, I apologize. These two are completely different yes, but the fact is, The Rock did start out with a "Blue Chipper" gimmick.

I just don't see the smiling Jamaican happy gimmick lasting. He's got flashy moves, but what else? Paul London had flashy moves. Billy Kidman had flashy moves. What happened to them? I just don't see why the WWE is investing in "this generation's Koko B. Ware", because I don't ever see Kofi as being able to do anything beyond the uber candyface role.

Kofi Kingston will be that kind of Savio vega style wrestler.. he is a crowd favourite, not much charmisa on him.. But once he turns heel the crowd will not care...

Kofi is decent.. But i won't speak anything highly on him yet...

He has had to do something besides his jamaican gimmick back in development, and so his mic skills had to be different then. If he goes heel me might resort to that persona (if it exists).

I am saying, I agree that Kofi Kingston, the character, if turned heel would die, but I am sure there's more than what we are currently seeing from the person playing that role.

I have an idea for a heel character. They could make him an evil pot dealer that rips off his buyers (according to Half Baked). :D

I'm sure he could have a nice long feud with a returning Rob Van Dam (who I'm sure would come back for that storyline, lol).

^Lol.

And RVD pretty much said he was taking a break from wrestling and he didn't know when (or if) he'd return. He has worked a few shows since then I believe, so he's obviously not retired.

No, I get what you were trying to do, however you failed at it.

No, I didn't. That's been around, online for years. 411mania has been doing it for a long time. I would admit it had I spelled something wrong. It makes sense, you just have to understand it.

Hey...nothing is impossible. More shocking and worse people have been elevated to the main event. Matt Hardy is holding a major title isn't he?......kinda..
