BTW, ZOMG, KNOCKOUTS DRAW BIG RATINGS. They do a freaking 1.2, while the rest of the show does 1.1
Every thread, someone says this...

The reason they draw only a 1.2 or slightly higher is because TNA is not as well known as WWE, simple as. The fact of the matter is that of all the people who actually KNOW about TNA (and that's maybe a third of WWE's fanbase at best) most of them enjoy the Knockouts, hence their near-constant topping the charts week after week. If TNA had WWE's exposure, the ratings breakdowns would proportionally grow. Statisticians call this "sampling." :)

Sad thing is about the whole Knockouts getting best ratings is that it is probably due to the booking, which was by D'Amore. How Jarrett didn't notice this and give him more responsibility is baffling.

Mmm, looks like we're back to the same old argument indeed but although it can be written off as 'flogging a dead horse' there must be a reason the majority have been bitching about TNA for the past what? Two years? And continue to do so.

I always prayed that they'd give wider booking to D'Amore, he did such a good job with the Knockouts why didn't they expand on his booking power for the company? Lord knows. And now he's gone.

Maybe I shouldn't judge too much as I haven't truly watched TNA for months but likewise to Headfirst for Hardcore, they alienated me long ago and everytime I try to go back, just to see what's happening, I see the same shit. TNA in my eyes, as a wrestling fan, has more problems than it does positives and that's what keeps me away from the company. TNA has a ridiculous amount of talent in its wrestlers (superstars? whatever) so why the fuck do they continue with these nonsensical programs and skits and overusing stipulations and gimmick matches. What happens when you overuse stipulations? The fans lose interest. Quick.

I don't believe everything Lance Storm says by a longshot but I have to agree with most of his opinions here.

I agree with the 'towel' on Bashir's head. No need for that. Glad they took the plane crash noise out of his music after the first week though.

That being said Storm himself is being mildly racist when he calls it a 'towel' isn't he?!

As an American, I still don't see a problem with a plane noise in his music. If 9/11 didn't happen, no one would care about the noise. People are just thinking way too far into things and it's getting ridiculous. I'm sure they weren't adding the plane noise because it had something to do with terrorism. It was just a sound they added as part of a wrestler's intro. People are way too sensitive over things.

I also don't see how wearing a turban was wrong. Do you think it's wrong that people in your area where turbans? Are you going to run up to them and tell them it is wrong? Pretty sure you wont. It's part of their culture.

Oh boo hoo. Political correctness is the least of TNA's problems right now. If having a turban on hurts your feelings, then you are a pussy and probably shouldn't be watching the product of an industry that has frequently gone outside the realm of what is "right."

Doesn't offend me as such, but it could offend others.

Of course I respect other people's religion and culture. What I am saying is that it is a bit of a wrestling stereotype that the Asian wrestler must wear a headdress everywhere.

But I suppose if Daivari is fine with it himself then I suppose it doesn't matter.

Cheap heat imo. But heat nonetheless of course :D

Actually, they did add it because of that effect. He's a heel, and billed as a "terrorist" from Iran. lmao @ them calling him the "middle eastern nightmare."

Didn't notice that bit. I think you're right - it was blatantly added to be provocative. Notice it was gone after 1 episode of his debut as Shiek Abdul Bashir, ironically enough an episode around the 9/11 anniversary I recall?

People seriously need to get over it. I mean really, what's next, recall every WW2 game because it's offensive to families involved in that? Yes, that happened a longer time ago, but it's been 7 years. We're approaching a decade. Move on.

TBh and totally off topic, and I'm not saying that I agree with this sentiment, but as Canadians its a lot easier for us to say "get over it".

I'm American and the plane noise didn't even matter to me. I see it as wrestling and away for him to get over as a heel. People who get offered easy should not watch wrestling IMO.

I just find it amazing how horrible genocides and crimes against humanity are occuring all over the world even as we speak, but there are some Americans who are still crying over something that took place 7 years ago that, though horrible, was barely a speck compared to the crap that has gone on before then, was going on then, and has gone on since then. And now to get so offended over plane noises? These people need to do some traveling; they need a SERIOUS dose of reality.

You think getting offended over plane noises is bad? Over here, there was a phone ad which made a little gay joke (I cbf explaining it, they play it out like the two guys are in the tent together having cowboy gay sex, but they're just watching the phone), and some guy said it was 'breaching his human rights' as a homo. I wonder how PC the world will be in 20 years.

Did they confirm that? Didn't know it had any reason, just thought it was randomly added.

Either way, it's still just a noise. I mean, should every plane noise in a game/movie/music video be removed because it has to do with 9/11?

To be honest, I'm sick of anything that has to do with 9/11. Terrorism happens every single day in different parts of the world. The middle east has to live through terrorist attacks every day. It's almost as if 9/11 was the worst attack to ever happen in this world.
