^In today's day and age with so many wrestlers that can legitimately be champion, 6+ does get a litte repetive. But to be honest at this point I don't think Orton's title reign has been too long and it's not nearly like Cena's reign, you don't hear people bitching everytime he retains because people don't expect him to retain so him retaining is actually a bigger surprise than him losing.

A long title reign can be done, depending on how many feuds he goes through during his time. If he just keeps beating guys until you have to get guys from other brands, that's too much. But if you have a couple nice 3 month feuds, that would make the championship and the champion look much better.

please tell me you didnt just say that..................................................

6+ monhts title reign= ridiculously long. even if it was the rock....

I don't see why Rock should be a particular yardstick. (Not a taste widely held, but personally I enjoyed his titles fueds that had frequent title changes the most anyway - Foley, HHH. ). Besides, he trancended titles more than most anyway (esp. "Peoples champ" blah).

Go look at some of the world title reign stats on wiki.... Some good reigns amongst the longer ones.

It's down to the attention span of the audience ( :hhhhmm: ) and the depth of the characters/storylines....

I'm all for this approach.... Especially with a heel champ as you're open to so many more finishes that can force a re-match without a title change (by virtue of their character's tactics), then you're in the realms of having good reason for gimmick matches etc. which should then provide enough "wow"-factor to keep the A.D.D. element of the audience passified (LOL) too.

sure, any reign can be good if it was booked properly regardless of how long it takes for him to lose. but what are the chances of having a good 6+ months title reign these days? exactly. triple h's reign made me hate wrestling for a while, JBL's reign was worse and cena's reign...was...just.......:nonono:. back to orton, i wanted the belt off of him before the rumble, i really hated the prick. but thanks to WM's build up, im starting to like the guy and i see him as a real champ now....for 2 extra months.

exactly why we loved him and the attitude era...FREQUENT TITLE CHANGES. im all for it tbh. now, every champ has to bury everyone on the card until he gets unlucky enough to lose the title...its ridiculous. and i used the rock as an example not for his reigns, just wanted to to show you how it'd make me sick if a champ holds the title for too long. even if it was THE ROCK (top 5 of all time in my book).

Like I said, all they need to do to make him a face without changing his style is simply change his targets to heels, just like how Kane slowly became a face by chokeslamming and setting heels on fire. If Randy gave a random heel who was beating Cena down an RKO because he hated the heel more than Cena, and then spit in McMahon's face once he went backstage and got yelled at for it, he'd be an instant face.

They've tried making Orton a babyface. It doesn't work. He doesn't have the character for it. He's boring as a face. At least as a heel he has character.

He doesn't have to be a babyface to be a face. Look at Kane. All you have to do is change his feud targets to heels, and leave EVERYTHING else about him the same.

We also have to think, if Randy Orton turns face, whos turning heel?

My guess would be Batista, who than starts a feud with Shawn Michaels.

I never really liked Orton as face but, sometimes you have to re-fresh your product. He's been heel for 3 years so maybe its time to turn him back.

You're right he doesn't have to be a babyface, but he should not be face. He's a terrible face, he's said it himself, and he just doesn't have the personality for a good guy. He's an awesome heel and they should continue to let him flurish in that role. Also he's not a monster like Kane so he can't just come out and kick the shit out heels like Kane does. He should stay heel imo.

Well my vision for him is more tweener than face. Targeting other heels for his own heelish ends, disrespecting his opponents, teaming with faces simply because they share a common enemy. Like Christian Cage's gradual change to face, except not moving all the way there if he feels he just can't play a face right.

^Yea I guess I could see that. But, I think he's such a great "evil" heel that him staying that way is best. Especially considering the lack of Main Event heels on Raw and the mass amounts of ME faces. If anything they need someone to turn heel, like HHH or preferably Cena(which isn't going to happen).

just because fans cheer orton when he whooped cenas ass doesn't make him a face thats as likely as a 5 year ecw title run by colin delany ( but that would be cool if colin did though )
