The WWE Raw Supershow on Monday, August 6th, 2012 will be Shawn Michaels Appreciation Night. It's being held at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, which is HBK's hometown.

Go to WWE.com: WWE Raw SuperShow: Shawn Michaels Appreciation Night tickets | AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX | Aug 6, 2012 at 06:30pm EST for more info & Home - Pro Wrestling Events for info about upcoming shows.

I'm sure we had something similar in the past.. So what about all the other nights they have had to honor him on RAW and Smackdown, how is this one special? Meh doesn't bother me that much.

meh.

It'll probably just turn out to be a usual Raw, just with a lot of HBK

This is good.

Hopefully the whole Raw is just a shitload of those 'From The Vault' clips of Shawn Michaels matches.

Perhaps Shawn could make a special appearance, possibly to help Cena somewhat with Johnny Ace, as HBK was never one to like authority figures and all. :p

Point blank, without Shawn there would be no WWE. He earned the right to be there and have an appreciation night in his hometown, just like Foley, Austin, Rock, Trish, Lita, etc should.

You are learning

That said, I don't remember any appreciation night from him. He may play host like Trish did in Toronto, not sure when his birthday of. Still good for business, the fans, and USA as They do have a hour to fill and he isn't as boring as Foley has been in his return. The Spurs also had a half time appreciation ceremony for Michaels in the same arena during the last round of the playoffs where he ended up SCM their mascot to end it.

Cue ridiculous Shawn Michaels hate that I will never understand!

Anyway, I'm fine with this, big fan of Shawn, all his appearances since his retirement have been pretty good, Rock had like 5 specials for him last year, HBK can have one.

While I agree with most of this I still can't help but feel we've seen it more then a few times before. I mean didn't we basically have a raw that was very similar just before Mania? One just after he left? I mean if we're going to make it yearly then lets say it'll be yearly but I do think it's possible to overkill it.

I like this idea, HBK pretty much started the Attitude Era, but beyond that deserves this. This also could be to boost ratings since the recent Raw shows have been flopping!

I'm expecting a Lesnar confrontation.

I just read that op said all the times he has been honored on SD? I glossed that over before, but my spresponse is WTF?

You can literally count Shawn's appearances on SD since it debuted in 99 on two hands because he doesn't like working the show. When have they honored him there? Heck when have they honored him in raw besides the day after he retired from in ring competition like they did Flair?

The closest thing to being honored I guess you can call it is when they announced he was going into the HOF and they had him come out to pop the crowd.

Other than that he has been just a hype guy for Taker vs HHH and promotional guy off camera

I don't remember any sort of WWE "appreciation night" for a wrestler that wasn't dead...

I remember them advertising an appearance last year around this time on the Roulette Show where Punk did his epic shoot, but even on that one, he was in a few backstage segments and Superkick a few people, that's it. People complain a lot over petty things.

Closest thing i can think of is Rocks birthday

As much as I like Shawn, you would think WWE would do something like this for a wrestler who actually did something signifficant in their career that helped WWE before doing this for a guy like Shawn who mainly just helped himself. And he's only been gone for what... 2 years?
