With the huge debate going on the last few years revolving around legalizing weed, what are your thoughts on the plant?

I personally feel it isn't as bad as others make it out to be. I love sitting back and relaxing with friends while smoking a joint or two. I don't see how Weed can be illegal but Tobacco and Alcohol are legal. With that being said, weed may not be the problem but people break the law by stealing to get money to buy it. Also, me smoking weed led to stronger and more harmful things such as pills. So weed plain and simple is great as long as it doesn't lead to other things.

I just figured I'd throw the topic out there and see what you guys have to say.

I don't have a problem with it, I don't smoke it anymore, but it's easily the most popular recreational drug out there. That being said it being legalized is going to come with a whole new set of laws. Really won't be able to smoke in public unless your in a smoke shop, and driving under the influence is going to be another issue. Still see it being legal in the next 10 years though.

Never smoked it never will but if people wanna do it that's their choice. I just find it funny that they do all these ads about how bad weed is and such but as soon as they get in position where they can legalize it and sell it themselves then it's all good.

What's funny is that more and more studies are being conducted on cannabis these days and scientists are telling us that it's got more medical benefits that we were never aware of (you can thank THC), yet the government pretends to be blind and just stares at it like it's a drug or a chemical, rather than a plant with a vitamin. After almost 100 years of propaganda to the public, the public is still being brainwashed to believe it is physically addictive but it's not. More people are starting to learn about it, though, and that's fine. Like I said, more and more studies are being conducted on it; we know more now than we ever did, so prohibition was just a waste of political time and a waste of the government's money from the 1920s until now.

I also suggest on merging some topics like this and another one of mine into a drug thread.

I personally think it's ridiculous that adults cannot come to a conclusion that this plant we all "marijuana" does a lot more good than harm. In fact, it barely does harm at all in general. It's a shame out our governments cannot legalize this healthy plant. It's so ignorant, that opne of the reasons weed is illegal, is because it gives you are certain high. And for other stupid reasons why weed is illegal annoys me greatly. So basically, my view on it is, that it should be illegal with no tax, but the usual cost for the quality of the weed/marijuana.

I thought that if the government sold weed, they would sell it like the tobacco in pouches or finely ground up in a tin like Skoal's chewing tobacco. Buy it by a 1/4oz, 1/2 oz or 1 oz in a tin or a pouch; 7 grams (1/4oz) for $49.99 + TAX! Hell yeah.

I think that alcohol should be in weeds place. Compared to tobacco and alcohol weed seems the least harmful. Tobacco is insanely addictive. Alcohol is also very addictive and widely available. It's a lot more dangerous than tobacco though. As for weed, I don't think it's addictive as tobacco.

I have thought of this before. Put it in pouches like snuss and call it, Happy Sacks!

I wouldn't say weed is "good" for you, at least not the backyard stuff that most of us smoke, but its still a lot less harmful than alcohol and tobacco. I'd love to see it legalized. I'm fine with whatever laws and restrictions come with it, but I think we've progressed to the point where keeping marijuana illegal and punishable with jail time has become ridiculous.

I'd still like to see LSD and DMT regulated/decriminalized, or at least available by prescription from doctors.

I have never seen the appeal of it. I don't think it should be legalised because I do think that it does cause some damage and people under the influence can do some dangerous thing. But I agree it is a bit hypocritical that tobacco and alcohol are legal when marajuana is not. Then again I don't touch, never have and never will, alcohol, tabacco or any drugs so honestly it wouldn't bother me if all of it was made illegal. I don't see the appeal in putting harmful things into my body that have no benefit whatsoever and that can cause me serious harm.
