Jonathan said:No offense but the way you have like 'I love God' and stuff i thought you were a devout hardcore bible-bashing church-going christian :dawg:

I don't go to church anymore because they judge everyone. I was judged when I went because of my piercings and tattoos. They looked at me like I was scum. Many Christian churches will turn away certain races, poor people and gays and I think thats messed up. Church is not what it once was. Most churches...People praise the Preacher not God, I am not into that. I don't need to go to church to declare my love to God and Jesus.
And no offense taken. I am not one to throw God and Jesus down people's throats because I wouldn't want other people throwing their beliefs down mine.

Farooq said:This, I had first hand experience from church. The one I went to before made me feel bad for who I was, yes I'm bisexual and whatnot, but why couldn't I be saved? Yes I had long hair, but why couldn't I be saved? It just seemed every little flaw they could point out made it to where I can't be saved, but I would go to hell for it. If I loved God I wouldn't be like this was basically what I was told, so it was better to be a broke, straight, short haired, suit wearing, obnoxious, pushful "Christian" and stay in their little group then to be myself. Sorry I'm not straight, I love my 'fro, and I know God doesn't want me nor my parents to give every penny to a church and not to help ourselves since we need it as well. And it was all well played, no matter what the preacher said, he was always right in their eyes. If you didn't agree then something bad would happen. I remember that when I dated a girl from there he banned her because he didn't want us dating, and that was just a small manipulations I saw there, before anybody else even my family I saw the dark side of the church that seemed to be almost perfect.
If there's anything I learned there though is that it got me into the Bible, I did read a lot of it, and studied a good amount of it. A lot of stuff they did was something Jesus wouldn't do, Jesus wouldn't cast us away from our mistakes, Jesus wouldn't down us for something as silly as a sexual orientation, Jesus wouldn't ask us to give everything away and give nothing in return, and I can go on. It's not the God that was a problem, it was the people. It seems all churches have been like this, they seem to neglect Jesus's teachings, because they didn't forget obviously they are reading from it, but it's sad. The church should be a place where you are not judged, where you come to worship God with other believers and whatnot, not an American Idol casting, getting judged by how well you "appear" to love God and are loyal to the church.
