Cena will be around a long time yet, unless some catastrophic injury forces him out. I think ending Taker's streak would indeed be another mile post for the guy's reign at the top, and he still remains a top draw. It's old school to have a guy leaving put over the guy remaining. Triple H's career was winding down as a rassler. Brock's there as a part time attraction.

Cena's still money for them. It continues the legacy for this character they continue to market. It's another torch being passed, just as Rock did to Cena last year. Anyone that takes the title away from Cena seems a bit more important for every legend that passes that torch to the guy.

Sentimentally speaking, I could see them having Taker's streak remain intact. He's been that loyal and good to them. Fans might like that as well. But considering they're selling the idea that the streak is all that keeps the character alive, the logical conclusion could be the end of the streak.

Every old school guy will tell you, it's better to go out on your back.

Think it's just a better way for Taker to retire, streak being broken ends speculation of him returning. If it remains, we will get it until he is in a wheelchair.

I agree for the most part but they could always have 'Taker come out and say this is his last match regardless if he wins or loses and in comes Cena s the last chance for The Streak to be defeated and they could bill that better than an "I'll try and end it this year" match.

I could see them adding the Michael's stipulation. If Undertaker can't beat Cena then Undertakers career and streak is over. Instead of them just announcing before hand that its gonna be his last match win or lose.

I still don't think anyone should beat it. In my opinion, Shawn should have been the one to end it. Seeing that he didn't, I don't think anyone else should.

My scenario was strictly one allowing 'Taker to retire with The Streak in tact and there not being any speculation of him coming back.

If Cena is going to beat it then a 'Taker has to retire if he loses stipulation would be best.

Unless it leads to what Cork said of Cena turning heel finally (which won't happen of course) I don't really see the payoff to having Cena end it. Only way you end the streak is if the person beating him gains something from it or there is a big enough pay off to that person ending it.
