:WWF 1999:

“Is it safe to come out yet?â€

This BTB takes off from the 1999 Royal Rumble where lots of things had happened, lots of unforgettable moments that will for sure’ go down in history. The WWF Championship I Quit match between the Rock and Mick Foley, the Royal Rumble match which saw, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Mr. McMahon starting the matchup off as the first two combatants. The Corporation eliminating Stone Cold from the match for the 100,000$ bounty. Only to have Stone Cold Steve Austin coming back from the hospital in an ambulance then only to be eliminated by Mr. McMahon, with the help of the Rock.

The ever so dominant Kane made his presence felt eliminating everyone in the ring at the time when he was in the ring. (Eliminating 4 people in :53 seconds) Kane looked to be unbeatable only to eliminate himself when he would walk out of the ring stepping over the top rope and go out after the ‘men in the white coats’ who tried to tie him up, Kane left the ring and went through the crowd to go after them. Kane’s brother the Undertaker also made an appearance during the Royal Rumble night alongside the Acolytes, Mideon and Paul Bearer eliminating Mabel from the match and beating him all the way to the parking lot where the ‘creatures of the night’ would take him away in the back of a Hearse. The whereabouts of Mabel currently, 24 hours later is unknown and of what condition he is in.

With the WWF Championship matchup, the Rock won the gold defeating the legendary Mick Foley in his style of match, The I QUIT match. Many thought and believed that Foley would never ever say the two simple words “I QUITâ€.

Ken Shamrock also retained his Intercontinental Championship during the night, he beat his nemesis Billy Gunn who was possibly injured during the match. Ken Shamrock used the Ankle Lock on his opponent and refused to let go of the hold, until referees and officials would run down to break it up. Later on in the night Billy Gunn on one leg tried his luck in the Royal Rumble but was eliminated by the rattle snake making quick work of the injured one legged man.

With Mr. McMahon winning the Royal Rumble match, Wrestle Mania XV is confirmed to be a massive one with the Royal Rumble winner being guaranteed the main event spot of the Wrestle Mania night. What would happen in the weeks leading into Wrestle Mania? So many possibilities, so many options. So many shake ups.

What will WWF do next to combat WCW in the Monday Night Ratings War which has been going on back and forth since the early 1997? What move will Vince McMahon and the WWF do next on the road to the last Wrestle Mania of the millennium?

---

Some reports have also noted that WWF after that massive night was winning the ratings war and reeled in a nice final rating. Vince knew that he had to do something to stay on top and not to lose his hold right now and is in the works of signing a tag team from WCW over to the WWF two huge names, a tag team that would excel the division over on the WWF…. That is if they decide to sign.

More information on this in the upcoming weeks.

Didn't you just come away from a 1999 BTB? Seriously, just make up your mind with stories and at least obey the rules and wait 1 month.

^ honestly, the more BTBs we get around here the better. With the activity at an all time low I have no problem with him starting over.

Looking forward to the first show!

Im looking forward to reading this BTB, and im very interested in it. I am curious to what your going to do with lots of the superstars, like Undertaker and Triple H, when they wernt as big as they are today.

Raw is War Preview
January 25th 1999

>>> After the Royal Rumble with only weeks until February's PPV, four to be exact what matches will be announced this week on Raw? what feuds will begin and what ones will have fuel added to the fire and even more hatred?

>>>The coveted European Championship will be on the line here on tonights Raw show, X Pac the champion will be defending the title against non other then brood member Edge. Will the brood and the other D - Generation X members get themselves involved? will tonight crown a new European Champion?

>>> Stone Cold Steve Austin has not picked up a telephone or answered any sort of calls to any of the fellow wrestlers, even family are saying he is acting strange. It has only been 24 hours but some say that Stone Cold has officially lost it after his loss to Vince McMahon during the Royal Rumble to close the PPV, Stone Cold though has asked time to open the show to speak.... what will happen when we have ourselves a distraut rattle snake in the building? this won't end well for the Corporation that's one thing that can be certain.

>>> Mankind, has been around the block in the business for a long time now and has assosiated him self making a legacy of hardcore matches. Putting his body on the line for the fans, putting himself through such excruciating pain that many would not even attempt to do. During the I Quit match many beleived that the Rock was in a match that Mick Foley can not lose and the Rock can not win.

Though it happened last night and it shocked the world when an unconcious Mick Foley uttered those two simple words which changed everything. Many are still in shock, Mick Foley has also asked time to speak here tonight, Mick Foley now the former champion does have a rematch clause... with so many people now gunning for the Rock and the Corporation including Austin and Foley, who will get Rock at next month's PPV, better yet who gets him at Wrestle Mania?

This question will be answered here tonight by non other then Vince McMahon who won the Royal Rumble and will decide who is the challenger.

Confirmed things for this weeks Raw

Stone Cold Steve Austin opens up the show
European Championship on the line, Champion X Pac takes on Edge
Ken Shamrock faces off against Mark Henry
Owen Hart vs. Test
D-Low Brown in action against Al Snow
Mick Foley speaks out
Kane in action
Plus; The Rock, Vince McMahon, Undertaker & Shawn Michaels in the building!
All this and more on the road to Wrestle Mania XV

Also in other news, Vince McMahon has offered a contract deal to a legendary multi time WCW Tag Team champions, the tag team is currently in a heated storyline on WCW with another team and can not sign now but if they do eventually sign is another question as both men have been in WCW for their entire careers. More update on this and these negotiations in the coming previews.

*Thanks for dropping into the thread, I am about three quarters way through the first show, it should be up in the next 48 hours if there isn't any major set backs.

RAW IS WAR
January 25th 1999

----

*Video Package of the Royal Rumble is played highlighting the events that went down last night at the event*

Jim Ross: “Welcome ladies and gentleman to Monday Night Raw!â€

Jerry Lawler: “Mr. McMahon our boss won the Royal Rumble, I still can’t believe it…. This is the greatest day in WWF History.â€

Jim Ross: “Stone Cold Steve Austin and the entire WWF audience would have to disagree.â€

*Glass shatters*

Stone Cold Steve Austin makes his way down to the ring storming down receiving a standing ovation, he is visibly furious over what went down just 24hours ago.

Jim Ross: “This isn’t going to end well for the Corporation.â€

Stone Cold paces around the ring, circling it around and around looking down before he could calm himself down; bring himself to the state of actually being able to talk.

Stone Cold is about to talk as he asks for the microphone but then moves it away from his face holding his head in disbelief.

Jim Ross: “He is speechless.â€

Jerry Lawler: “Well what do you expect him to say, he lost last night. Ha-haâ€

Jim Ross: “He was cheated, he not only had a bounty put on his head but it took the entire Raw roster to keep him from winning even the reigning WWF Champion, the Rock had to make an appearance to eliminate him.â€

Jerry Lawler: “But those are the rules in the Royal Rumble, everyone for themselves.â€

Stone Cold then leaves the ring and makes his way storming to the back as the show goes to a commercial break.

Jim Ross: “Looks like he is leaving early.â€

When the show returns from the break, it shows Austin getting into his car in the parking lot and ignoring what people are telling him and trying to interview him on the way out. He just speeds out into the night with his Jeep.

*At that point of time the music of D Low brown hits and he gets himself a good crowd reaction as he gets into the ring ready for one on one action*

Once D-Low brown entered the ring, his opponent’s music played and ‘Head’ signs were held up high as veteran Al Snow made his way down to the ring to face D Low Brown in the opening contest, Al Snow places the ‘Head’ of his unofficial wife on the ring steps as the bell rings.

D-Low Brown vs. Al Snow

Al Snow runs at D-Low Brown who ducks underneath a forearm shot, D-low then begins to club Al Snow from behind before grabbing him in a headlock and dropping him down to the mat with a hard whiplash effect. D-low then quickly dives on him and covers him for a pin fall attempt but it was not to be as Al Snow would kick out before the count could even begin. D-low got back up to his feet, trying not to lose momentum he runs at the ropes as Al Snow was getting to one knee and D-Low brown dropkicked him in the jaw putting him back on the canvas. He then stands up and begins to taunt the crowd receiving chants as he shook his head from side to side and began to shake his body… Al Snow crawled up behind him and rolled him up for a school boy pin fall; 1………2… but D-Low was able to get out of it. Al Snow threw D-Low at the ropes once both men were at a vertical base and, Al Snow leant forward for a back body drop but on the rebound D-Low Brown held onto the ropes, putting the ‘brakes’ on and then coming up to Al Snow and hitting a hard DDT on the canvas.

D-Low then points to the left side of the crowd to begin a D-Low chant and then to the right as the crowd were heavily behind him, he gave a ‘wiggle’ as he jumped up in the air and landed a hard leg drop onto Al Snow. Al Snow was then brought up to his feet and thrown at the turnbuckles, D-Low ran right at Al Snow aiming to clothesline him against the turnbuckles but Al Snow moved out of the way, as a result D-Low hit his chest onto the turnbuckles and staggered back as Al Snow grabbed hold of D-Low from behind and nailed a side Russian leg sweep in the center of the ring. Al Snow covered D-Low brown for another pin fall as the referee slid down to make the count; 1………..2 but at the count of two D-Low was able to get his shoulder up and off of the canvas mat.

Al Snow then grabbed the head of D-Low brown and moved him slowly up to his feet as he kicked him in the gut and then grabbed hold of his head going for a swinging neck breaker, D-Low countered it moving around doing a 360 turn before being behind his opponent and pushing him forward, Al Snow takes a step forward before turning around only to have D-Low, hit him with a standing dropkick taking him down. D-Low then leaves the ring taunts on the ring apron some more before slowly making his way up to the top turnbuckle, he then leaps into the air going for one of his patented maneuvers a leg drop from the top rope. He nails the move as he then hooks the leg on Al Snow. 1…….2…….3!

Winner D-Low Brown via Pin Fall

After the commercial break and a hype, video package for Wrestle Mania XV is shown, the music of Vince McMahon hits and he comes down to the ring with a smile on his face followed by the entire corporation which included Shane McMahon, Test, The Rock.

Vince McMahon: “Well it looks like I am going to Wrestle Mania and Austin isn’tâ€

Vince McMahon receives an enormous amount of deafening heat as not long after that turns into Austin chants as even members of the crowd are flipping Vince off trying to imitate Austin.

Shane McMahon: â€And that means Stone Cold Steve Austin is not going to be appearing at Wrestle Mania!â€

Heat

Shane then whispers something to The Rock and then over to Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon: “Seeing as I am not a professional athlete I am giving up my Wrestle Mania title match clause to anyone of the Rock’s choosing except Stone Cold Steve Austin! Who lost at the Royal Rumble and doesn’t deserve to head line Wrestle Maniaâ€

Jerry Lawler: “That’s so nice of Vince, giving the champion the choice on whom to face at Wrestle Mania XV, people can learn from him and his generosity.â€

Jim Ross: "Oh you people are just making me sick to my stomach."

Vince McMahon: â€So who’s it going to be Rock?â€

The Rock looks around as the crowd chants Austin, Austin, Austin, Austin!

The Rock: â€Shut up! At Wrestle Mania, the Rock, the Corporate Champion is going to give this man a chance to headline the biggest stage of them all, this man is going to unfortunately though go one on one with the great one and lock horns with the Brahma bull.â€

Jim Ross: “Who is it going to be?â€

The Rock: “Goldust!â€

Jerry Lawler: “Goldust?!â€

The Rock then begins to laugh as does the corporation in the ring

but at that time the music of the commissioner Shawn Michael’s hits and he stands on the entrance ramp receiving a standing ovation, the Rock is not pleased with him turning up and won’t take his eyes off of him.

Shawn Michaels: “Goldust? No offense to Goldust but Wrestle Mania needs a bigger name then that and I have just the guy in mind…..â€

Vince McMahon: “Goldust was chosen you don’t have the power to change anything.â€

Jim Ross: “Yes he does and, the Rock just wants Goldust so they can have an easy win.â€

Jerry Lawler: “Easy win? He is a former Intercontinental Champion you know.â€

Shawn Michaels: “If you are all what you claim to be Rock and really are the most electrifying man in the WWF, why not take on someone that made Wrestle Mania famous?â€

Shawn Michaels name begins to flow throughout the arena as they think he is talking about himself

Shawn Michaels: “No not me, I am still suffering from a back injury, the man I am talking about is currently 7 – 0 at Wrestle Mania!â€

Jerry Lawler: “Uh-ohâ€

Shawn Michaels: “That’s right, the Undertaker!â€

The Rock’s face expression was priceless as he was irate, taking his glasses off and his championship off of his shoulders. He is ready to leave the ring and go right up to Shawn Michaels before Shane intercepts him and stops him from leaving the ring calming him down.

Shawn Michaels: “Don’t worry, I’m going to give you a chance to get ready for your Wrestle Mania match, you will have a match tonight with a man that knows the Undertaker very well…. Tonight Rock you will take on Kane!â€

Jim Ross: “Oh how the tables have turnedâ€

Jerry Lawler: “This isn’t fair at all, it was meant to be Goldust.â€

Jim Ross: “Oh stop your bitching, now it’s the Undertaker taking on the Rock and that is something everyone wants to see.â€

Shawn then smirks as he leaves the area to make his way back to the locker rooms

After the commercial break, the music of X Pac hits and DX chants are filled throughout the arena as the reigning European Champion makes his way down to the ring for his matchup that is scheduled to come up next.

X Pac stands in the ring facing the crowd, chopping away as the green "X" Pyrotechnics go off in the ring, he then hands the European title to the referee as his opponents music hits. “You think you know me†as Edge makes his way through the crowd as usual running in and from behind tackling X Pac down.

European Title Match
X Pac © vs. Edge

As Edge came flying through the crowd as usual, making his entrance he ran up on X Pac from behind catching him off guard and tackling him down, he hits a couple of hard shots to the fore head before X Pac was able to push him off and both men were back at their respective feet. Edge takes his ‘brood’ cloak, jacket off and throws it out of the ring getting into gear as both men circle each other a few times trying to get underneath the opponent. Moments afterwards, Edge ran at X Pac attempting a clothesline, X Pac ducked underneath and ran at the ropes ahead of him. On the rebound Edge turned around then to take down X Pac with an arm drag. Edge holds onto the arm of X Pac as X Pac slowly moves up to one knee, Edge then moves X’s arm behind his back in a side hammer lock as X Pac then leans forward, grabbing Edge’s leg from in between his own legs, he pulls Edge’s legs forward making him fall onto the mat as X Pac turned around and kicked him while he was down.

X Pac then grabs a hand full of Edge’s hair and slowly brings him up to one knee as he then sits him down and gets him in a side head lock applying hard pressure over and over again squeezing his arms around the neck and throat area of Edge. Edge held his arms out reaching for the ring ropes but it was too far away, he would then slowly get to a vertical base where he would hit numerous elbow shots to the mid section of X Pac weakening and loosening his grip on Edge. Edge then ran forward only to have X Pac yank him back down to the mat with a hand full of his hair. X Pac at that point of time ran at the ropes and on the rebound hit a standing leg drop onto Edge and his throat and head area, X Pac went straight onto his opponent the challenger Edge for the pin fall; 1……… but as the referee’s hand came down for the count of two, Edge was able to kick out. X Pac grabbed Edge by the arm and slowly dragged his body over to the turnbuckles as he then sat him against the bottom turnbuckle in the corner of the ring.

X Pac took a few steps back, chop blocked Edge a couple of times and attempted his finisher maneuver, a variation of a bronco buster. He charged right at Edge but Edge scouted it and was able to side step him sliding out of the ring under the bottom rope as X Pac knocked his groin area on the bottom rope, X Pac held his groin area in tremendous amounts of pain as Edge slid back into the ring and went for the Spear! X Pac had the ring awearance to out of nowhere, jump up and take Edge down with a spinning heel, roundhouse like kick. X Pac then covered Edge once more but he would not receive the three count, Edge was once again able to get his shoulder up and off of the canvas.

X Pac at that point of time was quite frustrated; he walked up to the referee face to face and gave him a few words to think about, which was not smart on his part which also followed not long after with a Crotch Chop to the referee. X Pac would be warned, but meanwhile Edge crawled up behind him and grabbed a hand full of tights, he rolled him up. The referee slid down and made a quick count, 1…2…3! Edge was declared the winner; X Pac could not believe it.

Winner via Pin Fall and NEW European Champion
Edge!

After the matchup ended and Edge left the ring, X Pac was really upset and began to punch the mat going on a tantrum, X Pac did make his way down to the back not long after during the commercial break.

At that point of time, the lights were ‘dimmened’ and the leader of the Ministry of Darkness, the Undertaker made his way down to the ring, he received a mixed crowd reaction as he was followed by his manager Paul Bearer down to the ring. Paul would grab the microphone and begin to speak.

Paul Bearer: “By orders of Shawn Michaels, the Undertaker will be facing the Rock at Wrestle Mania, my man the Undertaker is 7 – 0 at Wrestle Mania….â€

Undertaker: “What that means Rock is that many have tried and all have failed to defeat me at Wrestle Mania, you will be no different.

Paul Bearer without the microphone begins to scream into the camera that come Wrestle Mania there will be a new WWF Champion

Undertaker: “The Rock you have never gone into the ring with someone quite like me, because there is no one quite like me. You see Rock I already own your soul, I already own the key to your mind and I already know your deepest fears and your darkest nightmares which I will be using against you!â€

Jim Ross: “I wonder what he is talking about? This doesn’t look good for the Corporate Champ.â€

Undertaker: “Rock, I know you feel safe behind Vince McMahon and the rest of the Corporation, I can feel it but what you need to understand is that every week until Wrestle Mania my Ministry, my Creatures of the Night will come from where you least expect it and take out every member of the corporation one by one until it is just me and you Rock at Wrestle Mania.â€

Paul Bearer: “Rock, how does it feel to be in a match where The Undertaker can’t lose and you can’t win? Ha-haâ€

Pop

Undertaker: “Come Wrestle Mania rock, nothing will be able to stop me, nothing will be able to save you from the creatures of the night not the corporation. Come Wrestle Mania rock you shall Rest In Peace!â€

Undertaker leaves the ring at that time followed by Bearer, to the back as the camera is sent to the locker rooms for an interview that Michael Cole is ready to conduct.

Michael Cole: “My guest at this time is none other than a former Intercontinental and former Tag Team champion, Owen Hartâ€

Owen Hart stands next to Michael Cole, he gets himself some amounts of heat

Michael Cole: “Just 24 hours ago you were eliminated from the Royal Rumble by Stone Cold Steve Austin, do you have any follow up comments regarding last night or will you just have to wait until the Royal Rumble of next year to try your luck once more.â€

Owen Hart: “It wasn’t my night ill give Austin that, but I won’t have to wait until next year, no. I have been waiting for a chance to be the top dog my entire life, even before the WWF, I was always pushed aside by my older brothers especially Bret Hart.â€

Pop at mentioning Bret

Owen Hart: “Bret was always considered the better brother, I was always either the sidekick the shadow behind Bret Hart, the one who would go and get him the wet towel and the Gatorade after the match backstage. I’ve had enough and it’s now time for a change, this hart is the only real hart in the WWF since Bret changed ships over to WCW. And you will see the Hart rise to the top starting tonight when I beat one member of the Corporation, Testâ€

Owen Hart then leaves the set as he gets ready, after the commercial break Test’s music hits and he gets heat as he makes his way down to the ring. Followed by Owens’s music that also receives a bit of heat but is preferred by the fans over Test, he gets some mixed reactions.

Owen Hart vs. Test

Test runs at Owen who hits a drop toe hold putting him on the mat face first, Owen his a couple of kicks to the ribs on Test before dropping a hard elbow shot to him as he was on his knees, trying to get back up. Owen then grabs Test’s arm and moves it behind his back as Test moved up to a vertical base, the near seven footer swung his only free arm around behind him trying to connect with a hard elbow shot to Owen Hart. Test does connect and Owen staggers back holding his left eye as Test turned around, charged right at Owen and before he could blink he was taken down with a big boot. Test covered Owen for the pin fall that looked to be out; Test hooked the leg of Owen Hart… 1………2…. But in the last moment, out of desperation Owen Hart was able to kick out and keep this matchup going.

Test at that time grabbed Owen Hart was pulled up to his feet, Test held onto the arm and pulled Owen towards his body, Test with the other arm tried to take his head off with a vicious clothesline from hell like move but Owen was able to duck underneath it and move behind his opponent where he would kick him in the back of the leg, take a step back and chop block Test down onto his back on the canvas. Owen Hart then grabs that very same leg and begins to kick at it he holds onto it and turns it kicking the calf of the leg inflicting lots of pain onto it.

Owen then tries to apply the deadly figure four leg lock but as he turns around, Test kicks him in the back which makes him hit the turnbuckles chest first, as Owen staggered back, a one legged Test hoped back up to his feet and clubbed him in the back before hooking the arm and lifting him up for a devastating, pump handle slam which he connects with. Test covers him for the pin fall; 1…………..2…. but Owen got his foot on the bottom rope to break it up just in time. Test was beginning to get frustrated as he grabbed Owen and brought him to the middle of the ring, Test grabs hold of Owen and pulls him in-between his legs attempting a Power Bomb, Owen though the savvy ring veteran grabs the bad leg of Test, pulls it forward and makes Test fall on his back, Owen turns Test onto his stomach and gets him into a half Boston crab, it wouldn’t take long before Test would tap out.

Winner Owen Hart via Submission

Backstage; in the locker room of D – Generation X, Triple H is seen visibly frustrated talking to his fellow members, X Pac, Road Dog and Billy Gun.

Triple H: “You guys are absolutely pathetic, what was that? You guys call that wrestling?â€

X Pac: “Hey we ….-“

Triple H: “I don’t want to hear anything from you, you lost the European Championship and now DX only has one championship in their possession.â€

Road Dog: “Ye that’s me…the Hardcore Championship around my shoulder…..â€

Triple H: “Now Billy Gunn? What on earth were you thinking? Huh you are injured yet you still competed and humiliated us in the process by losing in front of the world while representing DX.â€

Heat

Triple H: “We could have held the Intercontinental Championship, European Championship and Hardcore Championship today while I could have been well on my way to headlining Wrestle Mania! We would have had all the championships available except two of you had to screw it upâ€

Triple H: ‘We were four men as a unit at the Royal Rumble one of us were meant to win dam it! If I see one more screw up by any of you I am going to personally beat the shit out of you.â€

Heat

Triple H: “Do I have myself clear?â€

Everyone else reply with a yes sir as Triple H leaves the locker room

Jim Ross: “DX look as if they are ready to implode.â€

Jerry Lawler: “I don’t see that, I just think they needed a good talking to.â€

*Not long after the music of Mark Henry hits* Sexual Chocolate plays and he makes his way down very confident. Mark Henry receives a great face reaction.

Moments later on the music of Ken Shamrock hits, he comes down as one half of the World Tag Team Champions and the Intercontinental champion he then receives lots of heat as he makes his way down to the ring.

Ken Shamrock vs. Mark Henry
|Non title match|

as the match got underway, Ken Shamrock locked up with Mark Henry, but the miss-match in size and strength was noticeable as Mark Henry would just push Ken Shamrock back to the turnbuckles, rolling backwards into the corner. Ken Shamrock ran at Mark Henry grabbing onto the leg and attempting to sweep the big man off of his feet, but Mark Henry would just grab Ken Shamrock from his upper body and lift him up to a vertical base where he would lift him up and slam him down onto the mat for a hard scoop slam. Mark Henry slowly moved down to his knees about to cover him for a pin fall but Ken Shamrock who was playing possum grabbed hold of his opponents, arm and then tried to lock in a Triangle chock hold. Mark Henry was able with his free arm to get a few clubbing shots into the mid section of Ken Shamrock to weaken his grip and eventually Mark Henry stood up onto his feet with Ken Shamrock still holding onto the hold, hanging on to his head like a spider… the fact that Henry could hold on impressed the crowd which he got a great pop for his feat of strength.

Henry put his arm underneath Ken Shamrock and then slammed him down this time for a back breaker onto his knee. Ken Shamrock held his lower back as he was in tremendous pain after that high impactful maneuver. Mark Henry runs at the ropes behind him and on the rebound hits a hard devastating splash on his opponent. Ken Shamrock looks as if he is ready to cough up blood as that may have crushed a ribcage. Henry covers him for a pin fall; 1………….2… but as the referees hand came down for another count Big Bossman came running through the crowd the tag team partner of Ken Shamrock and began to beat Henry’s head in with that night stick, he brings the big man down to his knees as Mark Henry won via DQ.

Winner Mark Henry via DQ

Backstage Michael Cole is holding yet another interview with non other then the former WWF Champion, Mankind… when Mankind is on the television screen he gets himself a standing ovation and it would take minutes until someone could talk over the crowd and this interview could get underway.

Michael Cole: “Mick Foley… Last night at the Royal Rumble you uttered those simple two words which no one thought they would hear you say this lifetime.-“

Mankind: “Michael I have been hearing this all night and all day since the Royal Rumble, I have been getting messages on my home phone, answering machine and everything until I couldn’t take it anymore and I had to request the time to confess something to everybody.â€

Jim Ross: “I wonder what it is or what he is going to be.â€

Mankind: “The fact of the matter is I lost that match at the Royal Rumble, I wish the Rock the best of luck at Wrestle Mania but I have bigger goals in mind…. That’s right bigger goals then the WWF Championship.â€

Jerry Lawler: “There isn’t a prize bigger than the WWF Championship.â€

Mick Foley: “Next week right here on Raw, I will be in the building in that ring with Linda McMahon and I will address the world to what exactly I am talking about… but until then I just want to tell you one thing Rock, that I still have my rematch clause so don’t think you are off the hook that easily….. {Mick begins the laugh}â€

*Do you smell what the rock is cooking?* plays and the Rock receives a deafening amount of heat as the corporate champion makes his way down to the ring alongside Vince and Shane McMahon.

But as they wait for Kane, Rock’s opponent for tonight they are surprised once again at the sound of HBK’s music playing as HBK announces that the McMahons are barred from ringside.

As the Rock was left by himself in the ring, Kane’s pyrotechnics went off and the big red monster made his way down to the ring making the ring’s turnbuckles go up in flames in the process as he stood face to face with the WWF Champion.

Main Event
The Rock vs. Kane

Kane adjusts his glove as Rock hits a hard right arm shot into the jaw of Kane who seems unfazed, Kane retaliates with a hard uppercut which sends Rock staggering back. Kane would give the Rock another one backing the Rock against the ring ropes, Kane was then raked in the eye in the seeing hole’ for the mask he wears and Kane held his left eye as Rock switched positions with Kane and moved Kane against the ropes. Kane was pummeled with multiple forearm shots before he would grab Kane’s arm and place it behind the turnbuckles kicking it and going to work on it, stopping the blood pressure go to that arm. With a weakened arm it would be a lot harder to choke slam someone, Jim Ross stated Rock then grabbed the arm and went to throw him at the ropes but Kane was too massive and just too large to be thrown around, he just stood there motionless like a brick wall. Kane then pulled the arm Rock was holding towards his body and threw the Rock over the top rope that he was leaning against turning the tables as the Rock landed on the mat outside of ring.

Once the referee was able to count to four, the Rock slid back into the ring and ran right at Kane who attempted a clothesline shot, Kane instead was kicked in the gut for his troubles and Rock then hit a couple of hard right arm shots before grabbing his head and taking him down with a DDT. Kane though sat up at the same time The Rock had, the DDT barely affected him and both men were up on their feet at the same time. Kane hit a hard upper cut to the throat of The Rock who holds his throat and moves back to the corner, Kane then shoves his hand in the throat of Kane choking the life out of his opponent though he knew to break it up at the count of four and a half just in time before being disqualified.

Kane then grabbed the Rock’s arm and brought him to the middle of the ring where he stuck his hand once again in the throat of the Rock possibly going to lift him up for a choke slam to end the match, The Rock though hits a couple of side elbow shots to Kane making him lose his grip as the Rock took a few steps back and began to ‘lay the smack-a-down’ on Kane punching over to the ropes where the Rock would then kick him in the gut and was able this time to throw him at the opposite ropes. On the rebound the Rock hit a huge spine buster on the big man, which barely connected as Rock fell down with Kane… Kane’s weight brought Rock down with him though Kane was hit with the move.

The Rock then kipped himself up as he would then stomp away at Kane before he could sit up himself. The Rock then stood near Kane’s head and went for the Corporate Elbow finisher, he threw the elbow pad to the mat as he ran to the ropes on his right facing the entrance ramp, meanwhile the crowd erupted as Austin came running in through the crowd and jumped over the crowd barricade. As Rock moved from the ropes to the other ropes Austin came in and dived on him and tackled him down punching the holy hell out of him. The bell was to ring as this was over.

Winner The Rock via DQ Interference by Stone Cold Steve Austin

Jim Ross: "Austin is back, Austin came back King!"

Jerry Lawler: "Austin shouldn't have came back, and on the plus side he is too late, the Undertaker is already facing Austin at Wrestle Mania!"

As the show was in its closing moments Austin stomped away at the Rock and flipping him off then picking him up and stunnering him in the middle of the ring before stunnering Kane seconds later on. The show then faded to black.

BM: X-Pac .vs. Edge. Really good match, and it had lots of action, and yet it was a title match, so I was expecting something good. I dont really like how Edge got the victory, but the overall match was good. It would of been nice to see an ending Spear. I also like the fact, that for your first show, you did a championship change. It is a good idea to create a interesting BTB, and get a stronger fan base. I also didnt mind the Main Event either. I also didnt pick the Main Event as the best match, because it ended via DQ by Stone Cold Steve Austin, but this rivalry is getting heated up, after that promo in the beginning.

WM: Ken Shamrock .vs. Mark Henry. It was still a decent match, but I dont like Mark Henry at all. You can tell, because I released him in my SWF roster :p Also, even to make matters worse, he won by DQ haha.

BP: The beginning promo with Stone Cold Steve Austin. It had me thinking, and wanting to read on, after what he did. Whenever a superstar leaves the arena like that, you know something is to come. It hyped up the show for sure, and the beginning promo is always the important one. I also like how at the end of the show, he came down and beat the piss out of The Rock. This has me thinking of whats to come next week, and what will The Rock do, after SCSA just attacked him in an important match?

WP: The Mankind interview. I found it kind of pointless. It was just really short, and it didnt seem like Mankind either. No need to go into details, but your other promo's were fine.

Overall: Great show, yet there was many DQ's in it, and thats ok to have. Edge as new Euro champion should bring some good feuds in for that championship, and with SCSA and his attack on The Rock. These 2 are the biggest Legends in WWF, and it should be a huge rivalry, and a great one. Its really cool to see a 1999 BTB last past a week lol, and I hope you can keep this up, cause if it does, I have a feeling it will be a big success.

I noticed that you have improved in your announcers lines. They don't sound that generic anymore and they are in fact ratherly close to their counterparts in real life. As for the opening itself, I like it, but I don't think it should have opened the show. You should have had The Rock/HBK angle open it.

First match. Writing is still. a little sketchy. Try looking for names of the moves or positions instead of completely describing everything that happened. For example, instead of:

D-Low countered it moving around doing a 360 turn before being behind his opponent and pushing him forward,

Say: D'lo Brown with a go behind, or D'lo Brown with an standing switch.

The Mcmahon/Rock/Mania angle first part was practically a copy of what happened in real life. Goldust was practically buried in the promo. You should had use someone like the Brooklyn Brawler instead, but the point was made. HBK's intervention was well in character and made me think he was coming back for a moment. The Rock wasn't completely in character but he was entertaining enough. From a booking stand point, I'm not going to comment, I am just going to say, if you don't give Austin his title match, then you at least should give us Austin vs McMahon at Mania.

Again, your writing has improved but it is still a little sketchy. At least the men kept their styles during the match and the contest had a nice pace. Edge winning is always a plus.

The Owen Hart promo, well before this, Taker's promo was shockingly for me in character, so good work on that. Owen's promo on the other hand had a nice intention, but it just didnt work. This is 99. No Nugget comment? Rly? A WCW mention? Rly? Anyways, I see an Owen promo. Like I said before, you better not be thinking Owen vs Austin at Mania.

I didnt like Owen vs Test. Yes, you are pushing Owen, but you should still respect logic and book this as a big man/small man match. Owen fought Test as an equal and even made him tap. Puts Owen Hart over big but does nothing for Test and for logic itself.

Do I have myself clear? No, just no. The rest of the DX promo was good, but mistakes like this distract me from the flow of the show.

Didn't really paid attention to Shamrock vs Henry tbh. Just checked the ending. I see you are going with the alliance of Bossman and Shamrock. Nice work on that.

Mankind promo was too human. You should have kept him a little disturbed tbh. Besides, the fact that he didnt deny he said I Quit during the match puts him a little down and takes away from his toughness imo. Bad promo, completely out of character.

The way you handled Rock vs Kane is how you should have handled Owen vs Test, in a smaller scale obviously. Nice work with Rock wrestling smart, targetting body limbs throughout the match. The ending makes you wonder where are you going with the title situation, and gives the readers a reason to read the next show. Nice work.

Raw is War Preview
February 1st 1999

>>> Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind and The Undertaker all rightfully have themselves a reason to want to face the Rock at Wrestle Mania XV. Stone Cold was screwed by Vince, The Rock and the Corporation at the Royal Rumble while Mankind is the former champion and has himself a rematch clause. And the Undertaker is currently the Number 1# Contender.... who gets to face the Rock? Linda McMahon will officially open up the show with the announcement set to shock the world and will sort out the commotion surrounding the WWF Championship..... who headlines Wrestle Mania with the Rock?

>>> Vince McMahon hasn't been pleased with the recent weeks, he was first embarrassed on national television with Shawn Micheal's overruling his decision involving the Undertaker at Wrestle Mania... and this week Linda makes the decisions, Vince has said that he has got to get a new hold onto the company he began... the show that he started.... Vince has said that tonight is it and he is not going to let anyone walk over him anymore.... this isn't going to be good for anyone on the Corporations bad side that's for sure.

>>> This week is all about the tag teams a six man tag team match which involves D - X taking on the Brood while the champions take on the Acolytes in a non title match.... each team is probably trying to impress the owner of the company to get themselves a title shot at the next Pay Per View event St. Valentine's Day Massacre..... keep in mind though that the WCW unknown tag team is in the building and anything can happen.

Confirmed things for this weeks Raw

Kane vs. Bob Holly
Ken Shamrock & Big Boss Man vs. Acolytes (Bradshaw and Faarooq) - Non title
Brood (Edge, Christian & Gangrel) vs. D-X (X Pac, Billy Gun & Road Dogg)
Undertaker vs. Godfather
Linda McMahon to make a huge announcement
WCW Guys to appear in the WWF Ring!

Also in other news, Vince McMahon has officially signed the legendary long time WCW Tag team champions! This team has never ever stepped foot outside of the WCW ring and began their careers in WCW, who could it be? what impact would it have on the WWF?

*Thanks for dropping into the thread*
feel free to make predictions on who you think the tag team is :p :D

Preview Thoughts

The Linda McMahon announcement is intriguing with all the rightful contenders for Rock's WWF Championship. I'm tipping either 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin or The Undertaker will receive the Wrestlemania spot. 'Stone Cold' based on the opponent being The Rock and Undertaker just because I see him as someone you'd choose. Although, with 'Taker getting the spot that would mean Rock would have to lose and I'd rather Rock have the WWF Championship than 'Taker.

I'm not sure what Vince will do. Possibly approach Michaels? Really not sure.

Two tag-team matches in one show is quite a lot, I'd never recommend any more than that. They seem like pretty exciting matches nonetheless with the champions in action as well as the Brood and DX.

Predictions
Kane vs. Bob Holly
Ken Shamrock and Big Boss Man vs. The Acolytes
The Brood vs. DX's X-Pac, Billy Gun and Road Dogg
The Undertaker vs. The Godfather

wwerko619's Return Preview:

I like your big storyline your doing here, and I am taking a guess, and saying either Stone Cold Steve Austin or Undertaker get it. I hope its Stone Cold because like CT Styles said, Undertaker would have to win, unless your planning on ending his streak, but its your BTB, and your imagination :D Mankind will probably feud with the un-choosen opponent.

Nothing stops Shawn Michaels, so I see a Superkick to Vince coming up :p

Unknown WCW Tag Team.....It would be really sweet to see the NWO, but Nash and Hall have already been in the WWF, and you said they have only been in WCW their whole careers. Lots of opportunites here, and good luck with all those Tag Team matches, im looking forward to this show, and to see what will go down with the Main Event for WM XV.

Match Predictions:

Kane vs. Bob Holly
Ken Shamrock and Big Boss Man vs. The Acolytes
The Brood vs. DX's X-Pac, Billy Gun and Road Dogg
The Undertaker vs. The Godfather
