So, they couldn't find anything to do with him so all of the sudden he has the Million Dollar Championship and is looking for a Virgil? Be your own man Ted Jr. Orton is his own man. Rhodes is his own man. Literally, you have to take your fathers gimmick just because you can't do your own?

Randy Orton also had the benefit of riding the coattails of Triple H and Ric Flair, and being booked wonderfully during that tenure. Prior to Evolution, Orton was headed nowhere fast. He slowly became his own person, got his own gimmick, and the rest was history. The WWE failed to truly capitalize on the Legacy for either DiBiase or Rhodes, so now they're trying this. Hopefully it lets Ted Jr. gain some substantive steam, and then he can create his own legacy (no pun intended).

Besides, how much of today's audience do you think honestly remembers Ted Sr. and Virgil?

Considering they just inducted the guy and can just as easily research, and parents who grew up watching them, I'm sure a good amount.
