ROAD TO GREAT AMERICAN BASH 2017

Universal Championship

Finn Balor(c) VS Seth Rollins
The "Real RockNRolla" Finn Balor had one one hell of a night at the Money in the Bank pay per view event. First he took part in and won the 2017 Men's Money in the Bank Ladder match, then he followed this up by. Closing out the event by seemingly joining forces with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows aka the Good Brothers. And proceeded to cash in his newly won briefcase and pin a fallen Universal Champion Seth Rollins(c). To reclaim the championship he never really lost in the first place. Balor would announce the Balor Club is here to stay, and that Rollins would be a fool to try and get the title back. However Rollins would state that he would have his rematch at the Great American Bash.

RAW Women's Championship
Bayley(c) VS Becky Lynch
At MITB 2017, Becky Lynch took part in and won the first ever women's MITB ladder match to earn herself a future championship opportunity at a time of her choosing. At the same event Bayley(c) retained the RAW Women's Championship against Dana Brooke in singles action. On the post-MITB episode of Monday Night RAW, Lynch confronted Bayley and said she wanted to do the right thing. And that was to let her know that she planned to cash in her briefcase at Great American Bash, with Bayley stating that she better bring it.

RAW Tag Team Championship
The Hardy's(c) VS Golden Truth VS American Alpha VS The Vaudevillains
The current RAW Tag Team Champions the Hardy's(c) were riding high with their current reign. So much so that they asked MNR GM Mick Foley to make a fatal four way match for the gold at Great American Bash. When Foley asked who they wanted to defend against the champs suggested American Alpha the Golden Truth and the Vaudevillians. Foley proceeded to make the match official for the ppv.

Number One Contender - Universal Championship
Drew McIntyre VS Goldberg VS Kevin Owens VS Roman Reigns
Monday Night RAW GM Mick Foley was pleased with the utter chaos of the five way match for the Universal Championship at MITB. With the title being tied up in a rematch between Finn Balor(c) and Seth Rollins at Great American Bash. He revealed that McIntyre, Goldberg, Owens and Reigns would run it back in a fatal four way N1C match at the event.

Number One Contender - RAW Women's Championship
Charlotte Flair VS Naomi VS Sasha Banks
The quartet of Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Naomi and Sasha Banks represented Monday Night RAW. In the historic first ever women's Money in the Bank ladder match at the titular event, with Lynch claiming the briefcase. That left the trio of Charlotte Flair, Naomi and Sasha Banks kind of without a way forward following their respective failures at Money in the Bank. So MNR GM Mick Foley took toe the ring on an episode of RAW and announced that they would face off at Great American Bash. In a triple threat Number One Contender(s) match where the winner would be the next in line for a shot at the RAW Women's Championship.

Number One Contender - United States Championship
Baron Corbin VS Jinder Mahal VS Luke Harper VS Rusev with Lana
Monday Night RAW GM Mick Foley took to the ring and to cap off him announcing a series of N1C matches for the Great American Bash ppv. He revealed that another fatal four way men's division match would take place at the event. This time featuring Baron Corbin, Jinder Mahal, Luke Harper and Rusev. With the winner getting a future shot at the United States Championship.

WWE GREAT AMERICAN BASH 2017

The show began with a men’s division fatal four-way match to crown a N1C to the WWE United States Championship. It saw the quartet of Baron Corbin, Jinder Mahal, Luke Harper and Rusev face off. Harper got the deciding pin after he laid Corbin out with a Discus Lariat.

Next Naomi defeated both Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks in a triple threat match. To crown a future challenger to the WWE RAW Women’s Championship.

In the third and final number one contender match another fatal four-way encounter. This time around it featured, Drew McIntyre, Goldberg, Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns. With the victor earning a future shot at the WWE Universal Championship. It concluded with Goldberg pinning McIntyre with a Jackhammer.

After that American Alpha captured the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. In a fatal four-way match that also included the defending champions the Hardy’s© the Golden Truth and the Vaudevillians. Chad Gable submitted Jeff Hardy with an Ankle Lock to do so.

The penultimate match saw Becky Lynch cash in her MITB briefcase. To challenge Bayley© for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship. Just when it looked like the defending champion was about to retain the gold. Both women became distracted when the Good Brothers showed up at ringside. But this was a ruse as Lynch rolled Bayley up with a handful of tights from behind to win the title.

Finally, Finn Balor© closed out the show by defeating Seth Rollins. In the main event to retain the WWE Universal Championship. Which concluded with the defending champion pinning his opponent after three Bloody Sundays.
