I know nobody was calling me out, but I do want to say I haven’t turned my back on Scott. I do have a nuanced opinion of him in TNA, though.
While he was doing a good enough job when I first tuned in to get me to come back to TNA I do feel TNA is in a better spot today than at any point that I’ve been watching. I should preface this by saying that I only started watching Scott’s solo TNA After Don left as his co-vice president for about three months before he got fired so I wasn’t even one of the people that was like his impact wrestling booking super fan that was here for two years watching his product so it’s not like I had a strong allegiance to his booking anyway, but nothing will ever make me dislike Scott and his role as the president of TNA because there would be no DNA without Scott.
I’m not just talking about as a company, but he was single-handedly responsible for the return of the name brand that got me excited to start watching it. I will give Scott 100% of the credit because I don’t think anthem would’ve ever done that it Scott wasn’t promoted to president a year and a half ago and he single-handedly I believe pushed them until they agreed to let him do it.
I also want to see him get another shot at booking another televised wrestling show like Ring of Honor, perhaps.
That all being said, I do have a strong dislike of PCO and it’s not hindsight simply because of what he did. I haven’t liked him being a part of TNA since the moment I started watching, and I scratched my head when he was actually the first person that got rehired for the rebranded TNA back at last year’s hard to kill. I don’t believe the rumor Scott was going to make him a world champion so I’m not now attacking Scott for that, but I am kind of relieved he’s gone now so Anthem can trim people that I don’t believe are helping TNA anymore. That’s the extent of it.
I don’t like how they went about firing him, though when he just got TNA back on its feet. Like I said, I’m kind of torn on how I feel about it overall.
