A new future from May 2020

So, a little bit about me first I guess. This thread started way back in 2013 and is still going as we approach Armageddon of 2010. This is a passion project of mine using EWR but obviously, I know I can't just start there with nobody having any context. I have come over from WC which is sadly closing and this will be my home for the foreseeable. So, below is exactly where we are but you can expect the next few posts to be a recap of a month leading up to a pay-per-view and then I will post the entire event itself so you can get a feel of the project. The first couple will be ropey as I was quite a bit younger and now write for my career. Anyway, I won't go on anymore and there may not be a post in this for 10 days or so as I'm about to go on holiday but I couldn't hold off posting! I look forward to seeing what else is on this forum.

The Road to Extreme Rules
Sunday 23rd May 2010 – Baltimore, Maryland

CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
STEEL CAGE MATCH


This rivalry has developed over the past three weeks after their epic match at WrestleMania – which was quite possibly the sleeper MOTN. The May 7 edition of SmackDown saw Straight Edge Society leader, CM Punk take on Shelton Benjamin after the Gold Standard turned up on WWE Superstars attacking Luke Gallows after he offered an open challenge to the locker room. The match was a back-and-forth affair with Punk gaining the win thanks to interference from Luke Gallows and Serena. After the match, the SES tried to attack Shelton Benjamin when Rey Mysterio made the save keeping this rivalry going.

The next week saw Rey Mysterio announce that he had been granted the rematch he wanted at Extreme Rules against CM Punk inside a Steel Cage thanks to SmackDown General Manager, Theodore Long. This was just before CM Punk took on World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho but he came up short with Extreme Rules quite possibly playing on his mind.

On the final SmackDown before Extreme Rules, CM Punk and Rey Mysterio teamed up with Chris Jericho and Edge respectively and the two ended up brawling up the ramp and out of the arena leaving this bout finely poised. The Steel Cage could be the key to the whole thing as Rey Mysterio will hope it keeps Luke Gallows and Serena out of the action as the Master of the 619 looks to finally vanquish CM Punk once and for all.

Triple H vs. Sheamus
I QUIT MATCH


This rivalry between two of the most powerful superstars in the WWE is sure picking up speed and following Sheamus’ challenge of an I Quit Match on the May 3 edition of RAW to Triple H. The two had to be pulled apart by officials after they brawled throughout the arena. The next week Triple H took on the World’s Largest Athlete, the Big Show and Sheamus proved to be the difference maker as he cost The Game the match and attacked connecting with the Brogue Kick laying out Triple H.

Things would get even more intense this past Monday on RAW as the two were on opposite corners of the ring in a tag team match which ended with Randy Orton and Triple H standing over Sheamus and Ted DiBiase but then Orton delivered the RKO to Triple H to show everyone why he is the Viper and can never be trusted. One of these men will usher the words ‘I Quit’ at Extreme Rules and don’t forget it was Triple H who beat Sheamus at WrestleMania just three weeks ago.

FATAL 4 WAY MATCH
UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP


United States Champion Christian has certainly been busy in the three weeks leading up to Extreme Rules. Christian captured the title on the May 3 edition of RAW when he managed to defeat The Miz and end his reign. The following week on RAW he learned that at Extreme Rules he would be defending the gold in a Fatal 4 Way Match with Kofi Kingston defeating The Miz and Mr. Money in the Bank, Jack Swagger defeating Chris Masters to earn their places in the match. Later that week on WWE Superstars Christian took on Jack Swagger and was defeated by the man who claims he will walk out of Extreme Rules as the new champion.

The final RAW before Extreme Rules saw MVP gain the last spot in the match after defeating Carlito. Christian would also take on Kofi Kingston on the same evening. However, that match was ended thanks to interference from Swagger using his briefcase to lay out both participants. Then to make things even worse for the United States Champion, he was defeated on WWE Superstars by Cruiserweight Champion, Evan Bourne. So, it seems Christian has the odds firmly stacked against him at Extreme Rules when he has three challengers all gunning for the title he has only just won.

Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase
FIRST BLOOD MATCH


At Ted DiBiase’s own request he will meet the Viper in a First Blood match at Extreme Rules. After brutally attacking and busting Kofi Kingston open on the May 3 edition of RAW he stormed into General Manager, Vickie Guerrero’s office demanding the match and she quickly made it official and booked it. DiBiase was furious after Randy Orton had proclaimed he was done with Legacy after WrestleMania.

Ted DiBiase backed up his strong words in the following show when he teamed with Batista taking on Randy Orton and WWE Champion, John Cena. DiBiase picked up the win for his team and pinned Randy Orton in the process. However, this past Monday the momentum swung firmly in the direction of Randy Orton when he and Triple H took out Sheamus and DiBiase after they tried to attack after the match. Orton then hit the RKO on Triple H for good measure and stared at the fallen body of Ted DiBiase. Orton looks as dangerous as ever, but can Ted DiBiase gain the biggest win of his career over his mentor of the last year?

SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE: Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart – UNIFIED WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP


This match came about after David Hart Smith and Tyson Kidd defeated Big Show and The Miz in singles action respectively on the May 7 edition of SmackDown! General Manager, Theodore Long decided to add the match to the Extreme Rules card with the two teams facing off the week after and the winners picking the stipulation.

If that wasn’t good enough for the Hart Dynasty, they defeated the Unified Tag Team Champions and chose to have Bret Hart as the special guest referee for the title match at the pay-per-view. Then to add insult to injury, Tyson Kidd defeated The Miz on Friday night and The Hart Dynasty attacked him after and later on in the night when Big Show eventually arrived he received the same treatment at the hands of the Hart Dynasty in the parking lot with lead pipes and Bret even locking in the sharpshooter. Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith seem to have unlocked a new, aggressive side ahead of challenging for the titles this Sunday at Extreme Rules.

Chris Jericho (c) vs. Edge
TLC MATCH
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP


Now to the first of the two main events of the evening and a massive rematch from WrestleMania. Edge came up short at the spectacle after winning the Royal Rumble earlier this year but he is looking to capture the World Heavyweight Championship for the 10th time at Extreme Rules.

On May 7, Chris Jericho opened SmackDown gloating about his WrestleMania win, but it was short-lived as Edge was quick to interrupt and delivered a thunderous Spear to his nemesis. Later in the night when Jericho took on Undertaker in the main event, the match ended in a no contest thanks to Edge interfering and once again hitting a Spear.

The following week Theodore Long announced the two superstars would meet in a TLC Match for the gold at Extreme Rules which Jericho was apoplectic about as everyone knows the match is Edge’s specialty. Jericho did however pick up a good win over CM Punk while Edge took on Undertaker in the main event. The match ended in the same way as the week before but this time with Jericho hitting the Code Breaker on Edge and having the last laugh.

This past week was an awful one for the World Heavyweight Champion though and he doesn’t seem to have any momentum whatsoever. His match against John Morrison on WWE Superstars this past Thursday was a great one, but Morrison picked up a huge win, the biggest of his career to date. The following night Edge and Rey Mysterio defeated Chris Jericho and CM Punk in tag team action and Edge sent a message by Spearing Chris Jericho through a table to finish the match. It was, without doubt, the week Chris Jericho did not want going into Extreme Rules and it seems his title is in severe jeopardy.

John Cena (c) vs. Batista
LAST MAN STANDING MATCH
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP


This is the hottest rivalry in the WWE right now. At WrestleMania John Cena defeated Batista to become the new WWE Champion but Batista’s rematch clause gives him an opportunity to regain the gold at Extreme Rules.

The two men brawled at the beginning of RAW on May 10 after Batista cost Cena a match against Big Show the week before and then delivered a huge Batista Bomb to the WWE Champion signalling he is far from done with his arch-rival.

This past Monday tensions were still high as the two were forced to team up against the Unified Tag Team Champions, The Miz and the Big Show. Batista predictably left John Cena high and dry after delivering a Batista Bomb and a Skull Crushing Finale from The Miz and a knockout punch from the Big Show left Cena motionless on the canvas.

Vickie Guerrero as RAW General Manager certainly seems to be helping Batista screw John Cena and when they meet in a Last Man Standing Match this Sunday it could very well be that we crown a new WWE Champion and the Animal reigns over his kingdom once more.


What else has been happening this month?

RAW

-Vickie Guerrero was announced as the new General Manager of Monday Night RAW.

-Daniel Bryan and Lance Cade have been embroiled in a rivalry after the latter attacked the former after a victory against Zack Ryder.

-Gail Kim became the number one contender for the DIVA’s Championship by beating Maryse, Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres in a Fatal 4 Way match.

SmackDown

-Gregory Helms has beaten Evan Bourne in a non-title match and has targeted the Cruiserweight Championship.

-Matt Hardy and Drew McIntyre have been embroiled in a feud.

-Kane has beaten R-Truth two weeks in a row.

WWE Extreme Rules – Sunday, May 23, 2010 – Baltimore, Maryland

A video package highlighting a selection of the rivalries going into tonight plays and hypes that every match will be Extreme. The video ends with John Cena looking directly at the camera holding his WWE Championship belt as the official theme song for the pay-per-view, Pendulum’s Watercolour begins to play.

The camera focuses on the titantron area where there is a big red X to signal the Extreme nature of the night and a massive firework set goes off with red, black and white shooting everywhere before the camera pans over the crowd which is sold out in Baltimore, Maryland. The camera finally settles on the announce table at ringside where Michael Cole, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Matt Striker are standing by.


Cole:
Ladies and Gentlemen, we welcome you to Extreme Rules in Baltimore, Maryland with this sold-out crowd of 18,952. Michael Cole alongside Hall of Famer, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and SmackDown’s Matt Striker and what a show we have tonight with John Cena meeting Batista for the WWE Championship in a Last Man Standing Match.
King:
That match is not going to be for the faint-hearted I can tell you that much Michael. These two men cannot even look at each other so what are they going to be like when they are allowed to literally do anything to one another to try and knock their opponent down for a ten count?!
Cole:
And on the SmackDown side of things the Ultimate Opportunist, Edge gets a World Heavyweight Championship Match against, champion, Chris Jericho and it will be Tables, Ladders and Chairs!
Striker:
This is Edge’s last opportunity for the World’s Championship while Chris Jericho is in possession of the title. But don’t forget this match is what made Edge, but will the Rated R Superstar walk out of Baltimore with the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist? We will find out tonight!

The camera then leaves the announce table and settles on Tony Chimel standing in the centre of the ring who announces that the first match of the evening will be a Steel Cage match and the only ways to win are via pinfall, submission or escaping the cage. The cage then lowers before CM Punk makes his entrance to a chorus of boos with Luke Gallows and Serena in tow and Rey Mysterio explodes out of the stage and almost the arena with the pop he receives. Mysterio and Punk are locked in the cage and Gallows and Serena are on the outside as the referee rings the bell and gets the match underway.

The match starts at a fast pace with Rey Mysterio dominating the early going. His first move of the match was a leg scissors takedown which sent CM Punk skull first into the Cage and it was quickly followed by Mysterio trying to escape but Punk pulled him down only for Mysterio to hit a diving Crossbody. Mysterio then continues to build momentum by hitting several kicks to the knee of Punk. Mysterio then runs at CM Punk and goes for his patented Bulldog takedown, but CM Punk manages to counter and slams Rey Mysterio sideways into the steel. CM Punk goes for a pin but is only able to get a two count. It is now time for Punk to gain some momentum as he hammers away on Mysterio and delivers a textbook double under-hook backbreaker for another close fall. CM Punk tosses Rey into the corner and goes for his high knee but Mysterio ducks underneath and runs against the ropes opposite a staggering Punk.

The Straight Edge Saviour connected with the turnbuckle and Rey hits a beautiful dropkick taking CM Punk down to the sitting position at the turnbuckle furthest away from the cage door. Mysterio then runs full speed at CM Punk and hits a high impact dropkick which smashes CM Punk against the steel and Mysterio taunts and gets a massive reaction from the Baltimore crowd. Mysterio goes for a pin; 1, 2… CM Punk can just get the shoulder up. Mysterio goes to the top rope before connecting with a huge frog splash. Mysterio now starts to scale the cage and gets to the top and CM Punk is barely moving. Punk gets up as Luke Gallows looks concerned on the outside of the cage and Serena looks anxious too. Mysterio is joined by Punk at the top of the cage and is able to pull Mysterio down to the middle of the third rope on the side adjacent to the door facing the crowd. CM Punk hits a massive kick to the side of the head which sends Mysterio off the Cage and he tries to climb out of the structure.

Striker:
Punk is going to escape the cage and the Straight Edge Society looks like they are relaxed now. Come on Punk!
King:
Hang on Matt look at this, Mysterio is up and is racing up the Steel Cage to join him.
Cole:
Rey Mysterio and CM Punk are exchanging blows both sitting on the top of the Cage, this could end badly for both guys.

Mysterio and Punk exchange blows on the top of the cage but neither is gaining enough momentum to knock the other one down but then Mysterio hits an Arm Drag from the top of cage sending Punk hard on the canvas. Mysterio taunts on top of the cage and signals that the match is over and tries to drop down, but Gallows has scaled the cage from the outside and hits a huge clothesline at the top knocking Mysterio down who lands hard as well. Punk and Mysterio are both lying motionless on the canvas but Punk stirs first and is able to get his arm across Rey Mysterio. The referee counts: 1, 2… Mysterio gets the shoulder up! These two are putting on a clinic and as they both struggle to their feet they both begin to go at it again with kicks and punches. CM Punk then tries to hit a sunset flip, but Mysterio rolls through and goes for a roundhouse kick but Punk ducks underneath and rolls up Mysterio; 1, 2… Mysterio again manages to wriggle out of the pin.

Punk picks up Mysterio into the Go To Sleep position but Mysterio slides down his back and hits a dropkick to his back sending him rebounding off the cage and onto the second rope. Mysterio calls for the 619 but realises that he cannot hit it as the cage is too close to the ropes. Mysterio rethinks and hits a Baseball slide taking Punk’s legs out from underneath him and then he asks the referee to open the door for him. Mysterio hurt his knee in the process of delivering the Baseball slide and slowly tries to get out of the cage as Punk begins to stir. Mysterio is almost there and has one foot on the steel steps outside the cage but both feet much touch the floor. Luke Gallows distracts the referee holding the door open and from the opposing side Serena slams the door shut straight onto Mysterio’s knee and ankle. Mysterio writhes in agony as CM Punk picks up Rey Mysterio on his shoulders as the crowd boo heavily and delivers the Go To Sleep! CM Punk covers Mysterio; 1, 2, 3!

Winner: CM Punk

Cole:
Damn it, the Straight Edge Society cost Mysterio the match again even though the Cage was designed to stop any outside interference.
Striker:
You do whatever it takes Cole, and the Straight Edge Saviour has once again pleased all his disciples with that amazing show of resilience and another dominant win.
King:
There was nothing dominant about that at all. CM Punk just won thanks to Serena and Luke Gallows, now tell me how that can be resilient or dominant.

CM Punk celebrates outside of the cage as Mysterio slowly gets to his knees and looks angrily at CM Punk and his disciples as they go up to the top of the ramp. CM Punk holds his head after it had hit the cage on several occasions and looks relieved to have got out of the match with the win. Luke Gallows and Serena have arrogant smirks on their faces as they know they cost Mysterio the match on two separate occasions.

Cole:
What an opening match to this year’s Extreme Rules that was and I can assure you the violence and the carnage will only get worse throughout the night.
Striker:
Indeed, we still have the diabolical TLC match, a Last Man Standing match but up next perhaps the most brutal of all as one superstar is going to have to utter the two words; I Quit.
King:
This is going to be hellacious for sure. The Game and the Celtic Warrior have had issues from before WrestleMania and they don’t seem like they are going to stop any time soon.

A video package plays documenting the two superstars and the rivalry they have had thus far, highlighting the Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania when Triple H picked up the win. As the video ends, the music of Triple H hits and the arena erupts. Triple H comes out dressed in his usual black trunks and makes his usual entrance with one difference; he has a sledgehammer in one hand. Triple H milks his pop before preparing for the Celtic Warrior to enter. Sheamus enters in his usual attire with necklace, but he also has his weapon of choice the Lead Pipe in his hand. He enters and as he arrives at the ring Triple H is there to meet him as the match starts frantically.

Triple H jumped out of the ring before Sheamus made it the whole way and attempted to hit Sheamus with the sledgehammer, but Sheamus ducked under and tried to hit the Game with the lead pipe. Triple H reversed and Irish Whipped the Celtic Warrior into the Steel Steps. Triple H takes his top off which gets a cheer from some women in the crowd before continuing his assault and hitting several stomps, mounting Sheamus and delivering time and time again closed fist punches. Triple H picks up Sheamus and whacks his head against the barricade wall and the ring post before looking under the ring and getting a Kendo Stick. Triple H tries to whack Sheamus with it but he ducks underneath and whacks Triple H with it instead as he follows it up by throwing him back in the ring. Sheamus now looks under the ring and throws a Trash Can over the ropes with the lid sliding underneath. Sheamus enters with the Kendo Stick and continues over and over again to whack Triple H with it bringing up welts all over the Game’s body.

Sheamus tells the referee to ask Triple H if he wants to quit but he responds with an emphatic no. Sheamus gets even angrier and picks a trash can lid up and swings for The Game, but he is able to reverse with a drop toehold sending the head of the Irish born superstar into a trash can! Triple H goes outside of the ring and lifts the steel steps off of the bottom set and slides them into the ring. The Cerebral Assassin stomps away at Sheamus before slowly lifting him and Irish whipping the former WWE Champion. Triple H hits his patented high knee and follows it with taunting and calling for the Pedigree. Triple H gets Sheamus into position for the famous finisher, but Sheamus reverses only to be thwarted by Triple H who pushes Sheamus into the ropes and as he comes back Triple H hits a huge spinebuster onto the steel steps. The crowd chant ‘Holy shit’ as the referee is ordered by the Game to ask Sheamus if he quits but he says no after the brutal manoeuvre. Triple H cannot believe it.

Cole:
Oh my god, what a move from the Cerebral Assassin, Sheamus may be broken in half, did you hear the sound of skin on steel there?
King:
You’re not kidding Cole, Sheamus may have a broken back I think we might need medics down here, what a brutal match.
Striker:
Yes, but don’t forget Sheamus had the wherewithal to say no he doesn’t quit I think it might have been better for everyone if he had, this is going to get real ugly I can see it right now.

Triple H throws Sheamus’ beaten down body out of the ring and starts hammering away at him sending the Dubliner spaghetti legged up the ramp towards the entrance way. The Game rams Sheamus’ head into part of the Extreme Rules set time and time again to the delight of the crowd. Triple H says it is over as he prepares to hit the Pedigree on the steel at the top of the entrance ramp. The crowd chants for The Game as he is ready to deliver it but Sheamus somehow reverses and hits a back body drop sending Triple H hard onto the steel and leaving both men down. The referee cannot count to the usual ten count as the only way for one of these men to win is to make the other one quit. They eventually both get to their feet slowly and again start pummelling one another. Sheamus gets the upper hand this time with a thumb to the eye which is perfectly legal in this type of match. Sheamus hits his devastating Irish Curse backbreaker as Triple H writhes around on the steel in pain. Sheamus goes backstage and comes back out with a steel chair.

Sheamus repeatedly hits Triple H with the chair on the back as he continues to scream in agony. The referee asks him if he wants to quit but Triple H screams no in anger as Sheamus gets frustrated. He picks up Triple H and goes for his High Cross finisher, but Triple H is able to slide down the back of Sheamus and kick him in the gut and hit a quick fire Pedigree on the steel. Triple H taunts as the crowd goes nuts and the referee asks Sheamus if he wants to quit but Sheamus heavily breathing just about utters the word no as Triple H runs down to the ring and retrieves his sledgehammer. He makes his way up to the ramp and picks up Sheamus and The Game swings the sledgehammer towards Sheamus’ head but he ducks underneath and hits another Irish Curse backbreaker.

Sheamus looks fired up and picks Triple H up slowly before nailing him in the gut with his own sledgehammer sending Triple H close to the edge of the stage before running and hitting a brutal Brogue Kick sending Triple H flying off the stage through a table and to the concrete floor with electrical equipment sparking all around the Game. The crowd are silent as the referee goes to Triple H with the microphone and asks him if he quits. Triple H slowly and quietly, barely able to move his mouth says; ‘I QUIT.’ Sheamus wins the match with the Game uttering two words many though he would never ever say. What a win for the Celtic Warrior.

Winner: Sheamus

Striker:
He said it, that is it Sheamus, the Celtic Warrior has defeated Triple H. What a match and possibly the biggest win of that young man’s career.
Cole:
I don’t think we are going to see Triple H any time soon after that, he must be injured after that fall, will he ever be the same again?
King:
I don’t know guys, that was brutal, I am not sure if I have ever seen anything like that before to be honest with you. I can’t believe Triple H said ‘I quit’.

Sheamus celebrates as the crowd gives him a chorus of boos and looks concerned for Triple H. Sheamus is dripping with sweat and holds Triple H’s sledgehammer in the air to further mock The Game as if winning and incapacitating his opponent wasn’t enough. Sheamus stands over the Game as EMTs and medical staff strap Triple H to a stretcher and slowly remove him from the arena.

WWE presents Fatal 4 Way

The following contest is a Fatal 4 Way Match for the WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP!

Cole:
It is Fatal 4 Way time, and the odds are severely stacked against the champion, Christian in this match. He only has a fraction of a chance of winning and doesn’t even have to be involved in the decision to lose his title.
Striker:
That is true Michael and on top of that he has had real trouble with Mr Money in the Bank, Jack Swagger in recent weeks being defeated or attacked in the past few weeks on RAW and Superstars.
King:
I am going to say it, I think we will have a new United States Champion tonight, I just cannot see how Christian can keep hold of the gold. This is going to be interesting as well because next month we have a Fatal 4 Way pay-per-view.

Jack Swagger makes his entrance first with Money in the Bank briefcase in hand. He is wearing red and black attire as he does his usual press-up entrance and sets off his fireworks. Next to enter is Kofi Kingston who gets a raucous ovation as the crowd chants Boom, Boom, Boom along with the man from Ghana, West Africa. MVP enters and gets a nice pop wearing orange and black attire before the United States Champion; Christian enters and gets a great ovation as well. He is wearing black and green wrestling pants with the United States Title belt around his waist. He enters the ring as all four men stand in separate corners and the referee holds the title above his head before ringing the bell.

This match starts frantically as all four superstars brawl not caring who it is they throw punches and kicks at. Kofi kicks MVP while Christian and Jack Swagger go at it. Christian clotheslines Swagger down and then turns his attention to Kofi and MVP who both look at Christian but then they all think the same thing. The three of them turn their attention to Jack Swagger who has just got to his feet and Swagger cowers and tries to plead with them not to attack him but as he does MVP hits a massive right hand and that is followed by a huge uppercut from Christian and a roundhouse kick from Kofi knocking Swagger to the canvas. The All American American slowly and groggily gets up using the ropes and as he is leaning over the second rope Christian stands on his back and pulls the top rope up giving him more leverage and choking out Mr. Money in the Bank in the process.

Swagger falls out of the ring as Kofi runs at Christian and delivers a huge dropkick which sends the United States Champion out of the ring. As Kofi turns around MVP runs and hits a massive boot to the face sending Kingston crashing out of the ring. MVP taunts and the crowd cheers before he propels himself off the ropes and hits a splash-like move taking all three men down as well as himself. MVP slowly gets back to his feet and tosses Jack Swagger back into the ring while Christian and Kofi are left outside. MVP hits a nice jawbreaker with his knee and then goes for his signature ballin’ elbow and connects. MVP pins: 1… 2… Christian puts Swagger’s foot on the ropes to possibly save the match and his championship. Christian gets back into the ring and tosses MVP outside before hitting a beautiful top rope missile dropkick on Swagger but as he gets up, he is hit by the SOS from Kofi Kingston! 1… 2… Christian just gets the shoulder up in time preventing Kingston from winning the United States Championship.

Cole:
Was that three have we got a new United States Champion? No, the referee is signalling a two count. That was so close from Kofi Kingston, Christian almost lost the gold!
King:
What a match. Bodies are flying everywhere I don’t know which one of these guys is going to win! What a great match thus far.
Striker:
I am standing by my pick I think Jack Swagger is going to do it, I think he has the upper hand in this match and don’t forget there are no disqualifications so who knows what could happen in this match.

The match continues with Kofi and MVP fighting in the ring as Christian and Swagger are fighting on the outside. MVP and Kofi hit several punches on one another. MVP tries to throw Kofi out of the ring, but he springs off of them and shocks MVP with a high impact dropkick. Kofi now goes to the outside and connects with a springboard flying forearm followed by his trademark Russian leg sweep. Meanwhile, on the outside Jack Swagger is getting the upper hand on Christian after smashing his head on the announce table and then Irish whipping his opponent into the barricade wall before shouting at him that he is going to be the new champion. Back in the ring Kofi gets the crowd pumped up and hits the Boom Drop and goes for a cover; 1… 2… Swagger returns to the ring and breaks up the pin attempt and then hits a devastating German Suplex on the spring-loaded superstar. Jack Swagger runs towards the turnbuckle and hits a corner slingshot splash on the fallen MVP followed by a cover; 1… 2… MVP somehow gets the shoulder up.

Jack Swagger cannot believe it and is starting to get really frustrated. He picks up MVP and gets ready to deliver the Gutwrench Powerbomb but as he goes for it MVP slides down the back of Swagger and pushes him to Christian who kicks him in the gut and hits a quick fire Killswitch! Christian covers; 1…… 2…… MVP breaks up the pin and gets Christian to his feet and the two start to brawl as Swagger rolls to the outside. Kofi now returns as well, and the three superstars all throw fists at one another until MVP tosses Christian into the turnbuckle and hits a huge boot followed by Kofi leaping and hitting a number of punches before MVP goes underneath Kingston and hits a high impact powerbomb and gets a near fall. Swagger is recovering on the outside and has his Money in the Bank briefcase. He enters and MVP turns to face him but gets nailed with the briefcase. Kofi now turns around and he gets smashed in the face as well. Christian is at the ropes near the entrance way and Swagger runs at him, but Christian pulls the top rope down and Swagger crashes to the outside. Christian covers Kofi Kingston who has just been nailed with the briefcase; 1…… 2…… 3! Christian retains by taking advantage of what has happened around him.

Winner: Christian (STILL United States Champion)

Striker:
You got to be joking right there. Swagger won that match, how dare Christian take that pin after Swagger ingeniously nailed MVP and Kofi with the briefcase. That was strategic brilliance.
Cole:
It may have been clever, but the record books will say Christian has retained the United States Championship tonight in Baltimore. What a fast-paced match!
King:
The Peeps will be happy but look at Swagger he is seething on the outside and I don’t blame him he looked like he had that match won but Christian outsmarted the All American American.


Christian celebrates with the United States Championship in his hands and is sweating profusely. The crowd are giving a very good ovation to Captain Charisma as Jack Swagger is halfway up the ramp with his briefcase and cannot believe he came up short for the United States Championship. MVP and Kofi still lay motionless after brutal shots taken from that briefcase. Christian taunts the crowd as the camera cuts backstage.

Backstage Interviewer - Josh Mathews:
Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time; he is the World Heavyweight Champion, CHRIS JERICHO!

The crowd boos heavily as Chris Jericho comes into the focus of the camera and grins smugly not looking remotely worried about his match later in the evening.

Backstage Interviewer - Josh Mathews:
Now Chris, later tonight you will face the Rated R Superstar, Edge in his signature match, Tables, Ladders and Chairs, how can you possibly defeat Edge in the match that he has made famous with your World Heavyweight Championship on the line?

World Heavyweight Champion - Chris Jericho:
Josh, you have the audacity to patronise me like that, you’re just like every other hypocrite in this place. I am the World Heavyweight Champion, I defeated Edge at WrestleMania to retain my title and tonight will be no different. Do you not get it? I am the best in the world at everything I do, there is no one better, it doesn’t matter what match it is, Battle Royal, Fatal 4 Way, Steel Cage or TLC, I am better than Edge and I will retain my World Heavyweight Championship tonight! Do you understand what I am saying to you right now?

Josh Mathews looks blankly at Chris Jericho as he gives Mathews an irritated look before barging him on his way out of the interview area backstage and the camera again cuts to the ring and announcer, Justin Roberts.

Ring Announcer - Justin Roberts:
The following contest is a First Blood Match!!! The only way to win is to make your opponent bleed!

Ted DiBiase’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring in black and green wrestling trunks with a dollar sign on the back and Legacy written on the front. DiBiase taunts and gets a ton of heat before he stands awaiting his opponent. Randy Orton enters to a thunderous ovation, probably the biggest of the night so far, he is wearing his usual attire with red pattern on his trunks. Orton taunts to the crowd and stares straight at Ted DiBiase.

The match starts with Ted DiBiase talking trash to the face of Randy Orton, Orton shouts abuse back at the brash youngster before hitting a picture-perfect dropkick and taunting to the crowd earning a huge reaction. Orton hammers away at DiBiase repeatedly before lifting DiBiase legs apart and delivering an air crushing stomp to the lungs. Orton calmly walks around the body of Ted DiBiase and delivers methodical stomps to both arms, legs, knees and ends the combination with a high knee to the head. Orton is having a good time picking apart his former Legacy teammate and he picks him up slowly and Irish whips him against the ropes but as he plans to hit a clothesline DiBiase ducks underneath and hits his own clothesline on the return. DiBiase does some stomping of his own to the Viper. Ted DiBiase then hits a back suplex before clotheslining Orton outside of the ring.

DiBiase bounces Orton’s head off of the apron before whipping Orton into the steel steps sending a crashing noise of flesh on steel throughout the arena. Ted DiBiase taunts and gets a chorus of boos before he goes over to the timekeeper and grabs a steel chair. Orton is stirring at this point, and he slowly gets to his feet as DiBiase waits to nail Orton with the chair trying to bust him wide open. DiBiase runs at Orton but the Apex Predator ducks underneath and hits his inverted backbreaker before slithering on the floor and looking at the fallen steel chair with thoughts circulating in his head and a deadly look in his eyes. Orton picks up the chair and whacks the back of DiBiase repeatedly before lifting his limp body onto the apron. Orton then returns to the ring and sets up DiBiase on the second rope and delivers his DDT with high impact as the ring shakes, but DiBiase is not busted open.

Cole:
That is vintage Randy Orton, DiBiase’s skull hitting the canvas hard and it looks like Orton is toying with his former protégé here.
Striker:
Orton has picked apart DiBiase methodically and the Viper may end this at any point he wants to.
King:
And it looks like he is going to Matt; look at this Orton is setting up to hit the RKO!

Randy Orton is slamming his fists off the mat signalling to the crowd that he is getting ready to deliver the RKO but then he stops and thinks of an idea as the crowd see his eyes change and go to an even more Viper like level. Orton slithers out of the ring and brings the steel chair he used earlier in placing it just in front of a stirring Ted DiBiase. Randy Orton now gets back into position to deliver an RKO clearly feeling that this is his best chance to make DiBiase bleed with his skull likely to be busted by the chair. Orton goes for it, but DiBiase manages to throw Orton off him and he lands back first hard on the steel chair. Orton writhes around clearly in a lot of pain as DiBiase tries to regain his bearings. Ted DiBiase gets up and hits a suplex followed by hitting a clothesline and then a dropkick. DiBiase frantically circles the ring looking for weapons and decides the best choice is the ring bell, he shoves the timekeeper out of the way and brings the solid metal bell into the ring.

He places it in between the second and third turnbuckle wedging it and running through his plan in his head. DiBiase picks up Orton and tries to toss him into the turnbuckle, but Orton reverses it and DiBiase looks like he is going straight for it but manages to put his foot on the bottom turnbuckle stopping the collision. DiBiase turns around and Orton out of nowhere delivers a thunderous RKO! Orton taunts but DiBiase has not been busted open. Orton dislodges the ring bell from the turnbuckles and places it on the canvas and gets in position to deliver another RKO on the ring bell. Orton slowly picks up DiBiase and gets set to hit the RKO but out of nowhere a man jumps over the barricade wall and attacks Orton with a chair. It’s Cody Rhodes! Rhodes is back after being punted at WrestleMania by Orton. Orton staggers around and Cody Rhodes hits the Cross Rhodes on Orton with his skull crashing off of the ring bell and busting him wide open. The referee has no choice but to award Ted DiBiase the victory.

Winner: Ted DiBiase

Striker:
Cody Rhodes has returned after being away the best part of a month and what an impact he has made tonight costing Randy Orton the match and giving Ted DiBiase a huge win.
Cole:
Damn Legacy and Cody Rhodes, Orton had the match won. You’re right about one thing though, Matt; Cody Rhodes has just made one hell of a statement to Randy Orton and has proved that he may never be able to overcome the two men he nurtured to this point in their careers.
King:
I don’t know what to say after that. It was brutal, you heard Orton’s bell ring literally when his skull crashed against the ring bell and look at the blood pouring down his face, I think he may be knocked out guys.

Orton is in the middle of the ring motionless with blood pouring down his face as the referee and medics come down to the ring. Cody Rhodes holds Ted DiBiase up on the ramp way looking smug and celebrating as the crowd give Legacy serious heat. Cody taunts at the top of the ramp before helping DiBiase through the curtain as the camera cuts back to Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and Matt Striker at ringside.

Cole:
I think we may have just seen Orton’s worse nightmare he needs to somehow even the odds because I have a feeling if he doesn’t it could be a long month for him and then he better hope that one of them gets drafted after the next pay per view Fatal 4 Way.
King:
There is one thing I am sure of though, Randy Orton will not back down, he will feel that there is no doubt he can destroy the two men he helped to create with their dominance as Legacy over the past year.
King:
Orton has got his work cut out for sure as have the Unified Tag Team Champions who face The Hart Dynasty with none other than Hall of Famer, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart as the special guest referee and the Hart Dynasty have dominated the Unified Tag Team Champions over the past month. Take a look at this.

A video plays showing the numerous occasions the Hart Dynasty has defeated or attacked the Unified Tag Team Champions in the past month and culminates with Bret Hart being announced as the special referee for tonight’s match and Big Show getting attacked on Friday’s edition of SmackDown!

The camera cuts to the ring when the music of Bret Hart hits as he makes his way to the ring in referee stripes and gets a massive ovation from the Baltimore crowd. ShoMiz’s music hits the PA system next and the two make their way down to the ring slowly and looking incredibly angry. They talk trash to Bret Hart and can be heard shouting that if he doesn’t call it right down the middle he will pay.

The mood changes once again when the music of the Hart Dynasty hits and Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith and Natalya make their way to the ring. They make their usual entrance before Bret Hart signals for the bell to be sounded and the match gets underway with the titles on the line.

The match gets underway with The Miz and David Hart Smith going at it with the power and weight advantage with the son of the British Bulldog. Smith hits a clothesline knocking the Miz down before hitting a high impact back body drop and then connecting with a nice belly to back suplex before tagging in Tyson Kidd who immediately goes to the top rope and hits a missile dropkick and pins; 1… 2… The Miz kicks out. Kidd continues to work on The Miz with stomps to the abdominal area before tossing him into the turnbuckle and tagging David Hart Smith back in. The two then hit a double flapjack while Show shouts at Bret Hart to get the illegal man out of the ring. Smith stalks The Miz and as he gets up and gets him in a vertical suplex position and holds him for the best part of 15 seconds as Tyson Kidd gets the crowd to cheer as the Miz comes crashing down to the canvas.

Smith covers but again can only get a two count. Smith picks up The Miz and tries to get him into position for the running powerslam but Big Show pulls Miz off of Smith and near to himself so he is able to make a tag. Show slowly enters and starts to dominate hitting a clothesline on Smith and then Kidd who gets in the ring. Big Show now hits a big boot on each before throwing Tyson Kidd over the top rope and out of the ring. Big Show picks David Hart Smith up and scoop slams him half way across the ring as the crowd boos as Show taunts and gives Bret Hart a stare. Big Show now puts David Hart Smith up against the turnbuckle and hits a devastating frying pan-like chop to the chest which lights Hart up immediately. Big Show pins and orders Bret Hart to count; 1… 2… Smith gets the shoulder up!

Striker:
Damn that Bret Hart, that count was so slow, he is trying to screw ShoMiz out of the tag team championships. I knew this was unfair on the part of our General Manager, Theodore Long.
Cole:
Matt what are you talking about, so far in this match Bret Hart has called it right down the middle and has been fair to both teams.
King:
And from knowing Bret I think he will carry on with the way he is officiating for the whole match I think he wants the Hart Dynasty to win the Unified Tag Team Titles fairly to prove they are better than The Miz and the Big Show once and for all.

The match continues with Show and The Miz isolating David Hart Smith in their corner hitting punches and stomping away at the bigger man of the Hart Dynasty. The turning point comes when The Miz takes too long trying to hit his swinging clothesline with Smith in the corner as he can get away and tag in Tyson Kidd who takes down the Miz. Kidd hits several high impact kicks to the knees of The Miz and follows it up with a springboard clothesline and then hits a devastating slingshot leg drop sending Miz’s head hard against the canvas. Tyson Kidd covers one half of the Unified Tag Team Champions: 1… 2… The Miz gets his foot on the rope and narrowly avoids defeat. Tyson Kidd is rolling now and dropkicks the knee of the Big Show who stumbles off the ring apron and whacks his head on the way down leaving Tyson Kidd alone in the ring with an almost knocked out Miz.

Tyson tags in Smith and he lifts The Miz and tells Tyson Kidd to deliver the Hart Attack. The crowd are going crazy as it looks like we will have new champions and they connect and Smith pins; Bret Hart begins to count but then Big Show gets in the ring lifts Bret to his feet and delivers a thunderous WMD knockout punch to the special guest referee sending him flying out of the ring and hard against the floor. Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith now try to double team Big Show but the World’s Largest Athlete swats Tyson Kidd out of the ring as if he wasn’t there and then picks up David Hart Smith and delivers an almighty Chokeslam! Big Show now calls to the ramp as another referee sprints down to the ring and Show knocks Tyson Kidd off of the apron as he tries to get back in. Show then places the Miz on top of Smith and gets the referee to count; 1… 2…… 3! ShoMiz retain thanks to Big Show taking out special guest referee Bret Hart!

Winners: ShoMiz (STILL Unified WWE Tag Team Champions)

Cole:
Damn it Big Show just took out Bret Hart and then called for a referee. ShoMiz retains in the most unfair way possible, The Hart Dynasty were robbed here tonight.
King:
I totally agree Michael and I don’t think this is the end of this rivalry. I know Bret and the Hart Dynasty will not stand for this; I think ShoMiz may have just made a massive mistake in their actions tonight.
Striker:
Well one fact remains guys, ShoMiz are still the Unified Tag Team Champions and it doesn’t matter how you win at the end of the day. ShoMiz win against all the odds!

ShoMiz celebrates in the ring with the Unified Tag Team Championship belts and Big Show looks incredibly smug next to The Miz who is holding his back and breathing extremely heavily. The camera then scans across to Bret who is barely moving outside of the ring being seen to my Natalya and Tyson Kidd with David Hart Smith also out on the floor after taking a thunderous Chokeslam. ShoMiz retain the Unified Tag Team Championships.

King:
What a night it has been so far but now it is time for possibly the most brutal match of the evening with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. There is one hell of a lot of history between these two and tonight may be the end of one of their careers.
Striker:
Ladies and Gentlemen this will not be for the faint-hearted as Chris Jericho has promised to defeat Edge and the Rated R Superstar has promised to end the World Heavyweight Champion’s career.
Cole:
It is time for Edge versus Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match let’s look at how this match has come about.

A video promo plays showing what has happened between these two over the last few months and includes the WrestleMania bout between them and culminates with Edge spearing Jericho through a table on the last edition of SmackDown! Smoke plumes come from the stage as the music of Edge hits as Tables, Ladders and Chairs surround the ramp and ring. Edge is wearing his red tights with black stars and R symbols over and he sets off his pyro to a huge eruption of cheers from the Baltimore crowd. He enters the ring after touching a ladder on the way and smirking clearly indicating he feels the title is his tonight.

Then the stage erupts as Chris Jericho enters to a chorus of boos wearing black wrestling pants with a blue logo design on with boots to match. Jericho looks apprehensive as he evaluates the vast number of weapons surrounding the ring area. He gets in the ring and gives his World Heavyweight Championship belt to the referee as Tony Chimel announces the participants and the referee rings the bell.

The match starts in the ring with Edge hammering away at Chris Jericho and Jericho holding his arms up to try and stop some of the force in them. Jericho bails out of the ring as Edge can be heard shouting to Jericho to come back and get some more. The World Heavyweight Champion has an idea and decides to bring a chair into the ring and looks smugly towards Edge but he is met with a beautiful spinning wheel kick sending the chair crashing straight off of Jericho’s skull and busting him wide open immediately. Edge hammers away to open the wound on the forehead even further before going outside and sliding a ladder into the ring and sets up a table on the side of the entrance ramp before coming back in and waiting for Jericho to get back up. Edge runs at Jericho and tries to nail him, but he ducks underneath and runs off the ropes dropkicking the ladder onto Edge.

Jericho now picks up the ladder and sets it up and tries to scurry up it and end this match before it has even started but Edge is up and pulls Jericho down who lands on his feet. Edge then hits the Impaler DDT and taunts to the crowd who give a massive roar of approval. Edge signals that he will be the World Heavyweight Champion and throws Jericho out of the ring. The challenger slowly places Chris Jericho up on the table which is set up near the entrance ramp and then stands on the ring apron at the far side. Edge runs and throws himself on top of Chris Jericho sending him straight through the table to the delight of the Baltimore crowd. Edge and Jericho are out as the referee checks on both. Edge slowly gets up and suddenly his mood changes as he chucks another chair into the ring followed by another ladder, and he also sets up a table leaning against the far-right turnbuckle from the television angle.

Cole:
Edge is setting up something big here, what has he got in mind, why didn’t he just grab the championship belt?
Striker:
Cole this rivalry goes so deep I am not even sure if Edge cares that much about winning the World Heavyweight Championship, I think he wants to destroy Chris Jericho and his career at the same time.
King:
I have a feeling this is about to get really ugly. Jericho can barely move as it is as well as being busted wide open look at him, he is a bloody mess out here. Edge may be just toying around with Jericho here.

Edge is in the ring and after setting up that table at the turnbuckle he sets up the two ladders next to each other in the middle of the ring and puts one of the chairs in a seated position to the side of one of the ladders. Edge then gets Jericho who is crawling his way back into the ring and gets him in position for a suplex on the chair, but Jericho delivers a thumb to the eye which catches Edge by surprise and earns a chorus of boos from the crowd. Jericho then with a limited amount of energy left hammers away at Edge until he ends up sitting on the chair. Jericho then runs of the ropes and throws his feet at Edge knocking him off the chair and headfirst off of one of the ladders set up in the middle of the ring. Jericho now methodically walks around the ring planning his next point of attack. Jericho eyes the table which is leaning against the turnbuckle and tries to Irish whip Edge into it, but Edge sidesteps only to be dropkicked again this time, the Rated R Superstar ends up on the outside of the ring.

Jericho finds himself alone in the ring and starts to climb one of the two ladders set up in the centre of the ring with a view to try and retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Jericho is two thirds of the way up when Edge gets back in the ring and scales the other ladder next to Jericho. The two are now at the top and hammering away at one another before Jericho hits a kick which rocks Edge but as he goes for another one to knock his rival off the ladder he ducks underneath and gets Jericho in a DDT position at the top of the ladder. Jericho bloody and battered tries to punch the abdomen of Edge to get out of the hold but Edge has a sadistic look on his face and suddenly jumps with Jericho still in the DDT position and hits the Edgecution from the top of the ladder. The impact reverberates around the arena and the crowd immediately start a chant of ‘holy shit’ in recognition of the spot Edge and Jericho just gave the sold out Baltimore crowd.

Cole:
Oh my god! These two men may be knocked out I think the referee may have to end this match; I am surprised the ring didn’t collapse what an impact!
King:
Edge just risked his own career and these superstars may never be the same again and all for the World Heavyweight Championship. Edge just drove Jericho’s head into the canvas from what must have been fifteen to twenty feet in the air!
Striker:
These two are doing anything to one another to win that championship hanging high above the ring. Look at the blood pouring from Jericho’s head and he is barely moving, Edge is trying to grab the ropes to gain some leverage but he looks battered and bruised as well who the hell is going to win this thing?

Edge gets to his feet extremely slowly and collapses one of the ladders and chucks it over the top rope to the floor below before slowly trying to climb the one ladder remaining. Each rung Edge climbs takes a lot of effort and he is slowly making his way to the top and touching the belt! However, Jericho grabs Edge’s foot somehow at the top of the ladder and tries to shake him off but Edge kicks Jericho out of the way and climbs one more rung and tries to reach for the belt again. The champion shakes the ladder before Edge is sent toppling off and hits his neck on the ring ropes being laid out in the ring in the process. Jericho a bloody mess now slowly walks over to Edge and lifts his legs before shouting something at the crowd and trying to lock in the Walls of Jericho which he locks in. Edge starts tapping but it doesn’t matter as the only way for Jericho to win is to climb the ladder.

Jericho eventually releases the hold and goes to the outside and grabs two steel chairs and places one to the side of the ladder before holding the other one and waiting for Edge to get up. Edge slowly gets to his feet and turns around but sees the chair coming straight for him and ducks underneath hitting a gigantic Spear through the table set up at the turnbuckle out of nowhere! Edge taunts and the crowd go wild sensing we could be moments away from crowning a new World Heavyweight Champion. Edge now instead of climbing the ladder has a crazed look on his face and sees the chair on the canvas and the other one which Jericho just tried to nail him with. Edge drags Jericho over and places him headfirst on the chair on the canvas and picks up the other one in his hand. The camera zooms in on Edge’s face as he looks deranged and lifts the chair above his head and connects with a sickening Conchairto! The crowd go nuts as Edge slowly climbs the ladder and reaches for the belt at the top with a motionless Jericho below and undoes the belt to claim the World Heavyweight Championship! Edge wins and we have a new champion!

Winner: Edge (NEW World Heavyweight Champion)

Striker:
Edge has done it we have a new World Heavyweight Champion on SmackDown and his name is Edge after winning the Royal Rumble and failing at WrestleMania, Edge has finally regained the title.
Cole:
But at what cost, both superstars may never be the same again. Jericho is a bloody mess and Edge is barely moving despite capturing his 10th World Heavyweight Championship.
King:
I don’t know what to say that was just sheer brutality out here. Neither of these men are moving and here comes EMT’s and a stretcher for Chris Jericho, I don’t think he will ever be the same look at the mess he is in.

Edge gets to his feet slowly looking exhausted and holds the World Heavyweight Championship belt aloft in celebration as the crowd chant his name repeatedly, meanwhile on the other side of the ring Chris Jericho the former champion is being lifted slowly onto a stretcher and is wheeled up the ramp as Edge re-climbs the ladder he used to unhinge the World Heavyweight Championship and sits on top looking quite emotional realising he managed to make it over his torn Achilles tendon and losing at WrestleMania to once again accomplish his goal of becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.

Cole:
What a match and we are not done yet as it is time for the RAW main event between two bitter enemies who both claim to be the face of the WWE and last month they met at WrestleMania but it appears that it hasn’t changed anything between these two men.
Striker:
This is personal Michael. Batista feels that John Cena stole his spotlight when he was the true face of the WWE and tonight one of these men will literally be the Last Man Standing and walk away with the WWE Championship.
King:
This is going to be ugly for sure and I believe that John Cena knows he has more of a fight on his hands than possibly ever before. We are just moments away and you can feel the excitement from the crowd.

A video segment plays highlighting the progression of this rivalry between John Cena and Batista with Cena winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania and Batista earning his Last Man Standing Match. The video ends and the music of the Animal Batista hits the PA system. He makes his way down to the ring wearing black and green wrestling attire under a single spotlight to emphasise he should have the spotlight in the WWE not John Cena. Batista enters the ring and jogs on the spot awaiting the arrival of his opponent.

Then the mood in the arena changes as John Cena’s music hits and he emerges from behind the curtain and holds the WWE Championship aloft before staring down at Batista and running to the ring and the two start to brawl immediately!

Batista and Cena throw fists at one another in the ring before Cena gets the upper hand and clotheslines Batista out of the ring. John Cena continues to hammer away at the Animal before trying to toss him into the steel steps, but Batista reverses and Cena goes knees first into the steps making a rippling noise throughout the arena. Batista looks enraged and picks Cena up and starts to continually hammer away at the WWE Champion. Batista lifts Cena on his shoulder and drops him headfirst onto the barricade wall. Batista continues to brutalise Cena by picking him up and holding him up against his chest and repeatedly driving him into the ring post before dropping him on the floor and going over to the timekeeper’s area where he grabs a Steel Chair. Batista is getting booed by the sold-out Baltimore crowd but he just shouts back at them as he walks towards Cena with the chair in his hands. Batista stares down the WWE Champion who slowly tries to get to his feet and Batista swings the chair but Cena ducks underneath and starts to hammer away at Batista who drops the chair.

Cena continually hammers away until Batista drops to one knee and then goes for a suplex but the challenger’s leg strength is too much and he refuses to be lifted by Cena and instead lifts the WWE Champion high into the air in a suplex position of his own and connects with the Jackhammer suplex made famous by Goldberg. Batista holds his head as it is clearly in a lot of pain following Cena’s assault. Batista now picks up the chair for the second time and tosses it into the ring along with Cena and then he looks underneath the ring for something else and finds a toolbox and gets a screwdriver out of it before entering the ring. Cena is resting on the far-right turnbuckle as the camera is looking and Batista runs at Cena with the screwdriver looking to cause some serious pain. Batista runs but fails to connect and goes crashing headfirst into the turnbuckle which Cena had exposed while leaning on it and playing possum. Batista turns around only to be nailed with the Steel Chair which Batista threw into the ring. The camera zooms in on Batista’s face as he looks dazed from the shot.

King:
What a shot, steel off of skull. Batista isn’t getting up from this he is a mess. Cena has just retained his gold in my eyes.
Striker:
It is looking that way right now, Batista is out damn it come on Dave, you can get up and prove you are the face of the WWE, come on!
Cole:
What a shot and what a mess Batista is, Cena showed a hell of a lot of ring savvy there as he played possum and was able to expose a turnbuckle and use it to his advantage.

Batista is down and the referee begins to count as it is a Last Man Standing Match. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6… Batista is stirring at 6 and Cena sees that he is not going to get the 10 count so picks up the Animal and Irish Whips him across the ring but Batista is able to duck underneath an attempted clothesline and as Cena runs after him Batista reverses it into an impactful swinging side slam out of nowhere taking the WWE Champion down to the canvas. Batista looks angry as he stares at Cena and orders him to get up. Cena slowly gets to his feet only to be met with a thunderous Spear which drives Cena down. Batista grabs the screwdriver which he had earlier and mounts Cena before repeatedly driving the foreign object into Cena’s head. Batista picks his opponent up only to boot him to the canvas once more and Cena is hurting and the referee starts to count this time for Batista to win the match and the WWE Championship. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7… John Cena gets back to his feet with the help of the ring ropes and both he and Batista start to throw right hands at one another.

Cena looks to be getting the upperhand until Batista picks him up and drives him into the turnbuckle and delivering shoulder thrusts repeatedly until Cena ends up in the seated position. Batista then runs off the ropes and hits a huge boot to the side of Cena’s face. Batista throws the carcass like body of John Cena outside of the ring near the announce tables before following. Batista takes the lid of the far announce table off and the cameras before grabbing Cena and getting him up on the table. Batista says this will be it and gets Cena into position to hit a Batista Bomb. Batista lifts Cena up into the powerbomb position but the WWE Champion manages to jump over Batista’s head and as the Animal turns around to face him hits a drop toe hold and out of absolutely nowhere locks in the STF! Batista writhes around in agony as Cena’s muscles almost explode out of his body. Batista starts to tap out, but it doesn’t matter. Cena can keep the hold locked in with no fear of disqualification.

Cole:
Batista is tapping out and John Cena doesn’t have to release the hold he can just hold on until the Animal passes out here and he will retain the WWE Championship.
Striker:
I don’t think Cena will be satisfied with that win though he has vowed to end Batista’s WWE career here tonight and he may just do that look at his neck being wrenched further and further back.
King:
This is one brutal match, I though tonight had been extreme, but this match has been on a whole other level to anything. Both these men are bleeding profusely and this is over a lot more than just the WWE Championship.

Cena still has the hold locked in but then releases it and throws Batista off the announce table and orders the referee to count; 1, 2, 3… Batista is motionless at ringside and the crowd are going mental they clearly think this one is over after Cena locking the STF on the announce table. 4, 5, 6, 7… Batista is still not moving; 8, 9… He is somehow getting to his feet and the referee says to Cena the bout must continue. Cena tosses Batista back into the ring and gets the WWE Championship belt from ringside. Both men are bruised and battered with no energy left try their hardest to win the contest. Cena gets Batista to his feet and hits a fisherman suplex before delivering a Five Knuckle Shuffle and then getting Batista onto his shoulders and attempting to hit the Attitude Adjustment but Batista slides down Cena’s back and as Cena turns around he gets nailed with a huge spinebuster. Batista now goes to the top rope slowly and wearily with the WWE Championship belt in hand and prepares to jump off and nail Cena in the skull.

Cena gets up quicker than the Animal anticipates and whacks the ring ropes sending Batista down hard in the groin area and causing him to drop the WWE Championship belt to the outside. Cena slowly joins Batista at the top rope and the two start to deliver punches once again. This time Cena starts to get the upperhand as the crowd cheer in his favour and then out of nowhere Batista starts to fight back getting a chorus of boos. Then Cena hits a huge five punches in a row and Batista looks like he has no energy and is done in this match. John Cena sees this and places Batista on his shoulders on the outside of the second rope and then stares at the announce table. The crowd go wild as they clearly know what Cena has in mind. He lifts Batista and throws him off and through the announce table with a massive Attitude Adjustment!! Cena sits on the top rope looking unbelievably at what he just did as the referee counts out the Animal who is not showing any signs of movement whatsoever. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10! John Cena has defeated Batista and is still the WWE Champion!

Winner: John Cena (STILL WWE Champion)

Striker:
Batista, oh my god, I think this may be the end for him Cena must have broken his back, he just delivered an Attitude Adjustment from the second rope sending Batista through the announce table that cannot be allowed surely.
Cole:
Matt, it is a Last Man Standing Match the very design of the match is to see this type of thing; these men will never be the same again but John Cena remains the WWE Champion after an epic battle with the Animal here tonight.
King:
Batista isn’t moving we need EMTs out here, Cena may even have some remorse look at him in the ring, he is a bloody mess and looks like he cannot believe that he just did that to another human being. What a night and I think that is about as Extreme as it gets.

The camera keeps scanning from Batista’s battered body which has destroyed the announce table and John Cena a bloody mess holding his WWE Championship aloft in the ring. Cena eventually leaves the ring and makes his way up the entrance ramp as referees, trainers and EMT’s attend to Batista. Extreme Rules ends with a screenshot of John Cena halfway up the ramp sitting on his knees and holding the WWE Championship above his head with no facial expression whatsoever. Cena just looks exhausted as the screen fades and Extreme Rules goes off the air.

- a really great way to open the event, I do think that a Cage match is a great way to open a show and Punk vs. Rey in 2010 honestly is such a banging match and I can really see some vision in this project already
- I do enjoy the style you present you matches - I've not seen of this style before. Sheamus winning and Triple H possibly being forced off the screen is great way to put The Irishman over and at the same time bring in a new era for the fed.
- As a massive fan of Christian Cage - there is never a moment that I will complain about 'Captain Charisma' holding title gold.
- Honestly forget that Ted Dibiase [the younger] was even a thing - so actually quite keen to see where a win for him leads going forward.
- I used to love The Giant - never liked the Big Show though. Always think The Miz is so much better on his own - but I also know I have my owns bias involved
- Edge vs. Jericho - JUST AWESOME! Absolutely AWESOME!
- The sooner Cena loses the belt the better LOL!

A really good first PPV - and I will enjoy reading through this great work.

I always struggled to get into this at WC just because of how far behind I was. Glad that's not the case and I can read along with this recaps and keep with it moving forward. Just gonna' throw out there that Fatal Four Way card looks pretty stacked, looking forward to seeing the outcomes.

FATAL 4 WAY MATCH
CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP


This will be perhaps the most fast-paced match on the card with these four world-class Cruiserweights going at it for the gold. This one is hard to predict as all four men have had their moments in the spotlight over the past few weeks. It was a busy month as Evan Bourne defended the championship successfully against Gregory Helms on the 28th May edition of SmackDown and then had a Cruiserweight Championship match against Daniel Bryan end in a no contest on the following RAW due to interference from Zack Ryder who took out both Cruiserweights. This led to Bourne and Ryder being involved in tag team action on WWE Superstars and Evan Bourne once again ended up victorious. This week ended brilliantly for the Cruiserweight Champion as he shocked the world by defeating Kane in singles action on the 4th June edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The following week on the blue brand Bourne was impressive as he teamed with The World’s Greatest Tag Team to defeat the team of Mike Knox, Ezekiel Jackson and Gregory Helms.

With one week to go before Fatal 4 Way this match was announced on WWE.com and on Monday Night RAW the American Dragon, Daniel Bryan defeated Zack Ryder with Bourne on commentary. Bryan’s technical ability came out on top as he took Ryder to the cleaners. On Superstars this past week we saw all four participants in this Sunday’s match go head-to-head in tag team action with Gregory Helms and Zack Ryder emerging victorious. Perhaps the biggest shock was Zack Ryder pinning Evan Bourne to the mat putting himself into this Sunday’s match as a firm contender. In the final prelude to Fatal 4 Way, Bourne teamed with Matt Hardy to take on Intercontinental Champion, Drew McIntyre and Gregory Helms. Evan Bourne continued his impressive role pinning the Intercontinental Champion. Everything then points towards Evan Bourne retaining the championship this Sunday, but the odds are not in his favour.

Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase
FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH


This match is going to be nothing short of brutal as Legacy and Randy Orton have clashed numerous times over the past month. After Extreme Rules, where DiBiase defeated Orton in a First Blood match thanks to interference from Cody Rhodes, the Legacy teammates went one step further on the 24th May edition of RAW. As Orton took on Batista for a spot in the WWE Championship Fatal 4 Way Match, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase got involved costing The Viper the match and his shot at the WWE title. The following week on RAW Orton burst into Vickie Guerrero’s office and the no doubt bias GM put Orton in a handicap match against Rhodes and DiBiase. She also informed him that if he was pinned that person would face Orton at Fatal 4 Way. The match took place and Orton lost predictably but there seemed to be some dissension in the Legacy ranks as DiBiase tossed Rhodes out of the ring in order to get the pinfall and the match at the pay-per-view.

On the 31st May RAW, Orton was brutally attacked backstage by Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase and it seems that these two are back together and have resolved their differences, at least for now. DiBiase announced that Vickie Guerrero had allowed the match to become Falls Count Anywhere effectively meaning this Sunday it will be a handicap match with no rules stopping Rhodes and DiBiase from doing whatever they want! Orton had recovered by WWE Superstars for a rare appearance and got some payback as he teamed with United States Champion, Christian and Kofi Kingston to defeat Jack Swagger and Legacy. What was more impressive was that Orton hit the RKO on DiBiase and pinned his former protégé. The Viper repeated this on the last edition of RAW before Fatal 4 Way in an ordinary tag team match teaming with Christian and continued his huge roll this Thursday as he defeated Mr Money in the Bank, Jack Swagger and fought off Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase after the match. This Sunday, Orton and DiBiase collide with a very angry Apex Predator out for revenge.

ShoMiz © vs. The Hart Dynasty
TAG TEAM MATCH
UNIFIED WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP


ShoMiz has now held the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships for almost five months and frankly, no-one has looked like they can prize the championship away from them, that is until now and The Hart Dynasty. Big Show and The Miz really struggled against Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, Bret Hart and Natalya last month and narrowly escaped with their titles even though Bret Hart was the special guest referee. This Sunday it is a straight Tag Team match and anything could happen. This rivalry continued when Big Show came out on the 28th May edition of SmackDown demanding new challengers for the titles. He was cut off by Bret Hart and The Hart Dynasty attacked with chairs from behind taking out the World’s Largest Athlete. This dominance was to be short-lived however as the week after Tyson Kidd was on his way to the ring Big Show and The Miz attacked and as David Hart Smith tried to make the save, he suffered for his actions as well. On the following RAW, ShoMiz continued their momentum as they teamed with Mr Money in the Bank, Jack Swagger and defeated Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan.

However, it was the 11th June edition of Friday Night SmackDown that proved how much these teams really hate each other as The Hart Dynasty picked up an impressive win over CM Punk and Luke Gallows of the Straight Edge Society and ShoMiz defeated the dysfunctional team of the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge and Chris Jericho. It was after this huge main event that The Hart Dynasty struck and the two teams brawled throughout the crowd and to the back with no team clearly emerging as the victors. In the final week before this huge tag team match at Fatal 4 Way, Tyson Kidd took on The Miz with their respective tag team partners David Hart Smith and the Big Show at ringside. It was The Miz who gained the last momentum swing after Big Show Chokeslammed David Hart Smith on the floor from the ring apron and The Miz connected with his vicious Skull Crushing Finale. Who will walk out of Fatal 4 Way with the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship?

Drew McIntyre © vs. Matt Hardy
SINGLES MATCH
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP


This bout between the Intercontinental Champion, the Sinister Scotsman, Drew McIntyre and the man who revolutionised the ladder match along with his brother, Matt Hardy could very well steal the show. They are both great technically, the chemistry between their personas has built incredibly well and the WWE Universe truly feels they hate one another. Add the fact that William Regal has retired, and all of the ingredients are there for an epic confrontation with the gold on the line this Sunday at Fatal 4 Way. This rivalry all started with Drew McIntyre and his British counterpart beating a below-par Matt Hardy and Shelton Benjamin on the 27th May edition of WWE Superstars. The following night on SmackDown Hardy bounced back and teamed with Mickie James to defeat Drew McIntyre and Beth Phoenix with Hardy pinning McIntyre to put himself solidly in line for an Intercontinental Championship match. The following week in the WWE the tables very much turned and it was the Sinister Scotsman, McIntyre who had the advantage. Hardy lost to Regal on Superstars thanks to interference from McIntyre and the following night Hardy teamed with Rey Mysterio in a losing effort against Drew and CM Punk. It was after the match that the damage was done however when Mysterio and Hardy were beaten down by William Regal and Luke Gallows as well as Punk and McIntyre.

With the Intercontinental Championship on the line for the first time on WWE Superstars on the 10th of June, Drew McIntyre once again proved too bigger an obstacle for Matt Hardy to overturn thanks to some more interference from William Regal who knocked Hardy out with his patented brass knuckles. After seeing enough, the following night on SmackDown the General Manager Theodore Long decided that Matt Hardy deserved a rematch and he made the match for Fatal 4 Way with William Regal banned from ringside. As part of the retribution, Matt Hardy would get to face Regal later in the night in what proved to be the last-ever match for the Blackpool Brawler as he retired because of injury. McIntyre tried to get involved in the match, but Hardy combated it this time and hit the Twist of Fate for the win. The momentum continued for Matt Hardy this past Friday as he teamed with Evan Bourne and knocked off the Intercontinental Champion and Gregory Helms. It seems that luck has changed for Matt Hardy and this Sunday, he will finally have the chance to achieve major singles gold in the form of the Intercontinental Championship.

Straight Edge Society (CM Punk & Luke Gallows) vs. Rey Mysterio & Booker T
TAG TEAM MATCH


CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Serena more commonly known as the Straight Edge Society have said that they will change the whole WWE Universe with their lifestyle even if it means they must take out people like Rey Mysterio along the way. This rivalry has been going for some time with Punk defeating Mysterio in a Steel Cage at Extreme Rules. It all boiled over again just before Mysterio was going to face Dolph Ziggler in the main event of WWE Superstars on 27th May. Before the match, backstage CM Punk and Luke Gallows attacked the Master of the 619 leading to Ziggler defeating Mysterio comfortably. It was almost a repeat on SmackDown as Mysterio again lost to Ziggler thanks to a distraction from the Society; however, this was a qualifying match for the World Heavyweight Championship match at Fatal 4 Way. As Punk and Gallows tried to attack Mysterio after the match none other than the Undertaker made the save and helped him to his feet. Punk continued to gain the edge over Mysterio when he teamed with Intercontinental Champion, Drew McIntyre, and defeated Hardy as well as Mysterio and then proceeded to decimate the underdog after the match. And if this wasn’t enough on the 10th June edition of Superstars Luke Gallows pinned Mysterio thanks to the interference and distraction of CM Punk yet again.

It was on the Friday Night SmackDown of the 11th of June when the tables really turned. Mysterio thought the only way to get on top of the Straight Edge Society was to play them at their own games which is exactly what he did. During CM Punk and Luke Gallows’ match against The Hart Dynasty, Mysterio came out onto the entrance ramp at a crucial time to cause a distraction and allow The Hart Dynasty to pick up a crucial win over Punk and Gallows. He then promised in an interview that on the final SmackDown before Fatal 4 Way he had a massive surprise for the Straight Edge Society. Sure enough, this surprise didn’t disappoint as after CM Punk made quick work of R-Truth, Mysterio came out on the entrance ramp once again and announced that this Sunday at Fatal 4 Way Theodore Long had granted him permission to find a tag team partner to take on CM Punk and Luke Gallows. In one of the more shocking moments in recent history he then revealed that his tag team partner had just re-signed with the WWE and was none other than six-time World Heavyweight Champion, Booker T! Booker came out and got a huge pop as he will make his return to the ring this Sunday alongside Rey Mysterio.

Edge © vs. Chris Jericho vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Undertaker
FATAL 4 WAY MATCH
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP


The World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4 Way match this Sunday night promises to be unpredictable fast-paced and has the potential to be one of the most brutal matches in recent memory. We found out on the first edition of Friday Night SmackDown after Extreme Rules that Chris Jericho would get his rematch in the Fatal 4 Way match along with the new champion Edge. The final two participants were decided in qualifying matches that evening with the Undertaker defeating CM Punk in a hellacious bout and the shocker which was Dolph Ziggler defeating Rey Mysterio thanks to interference from Punk and the Straight Edge Society. From this point on, all the combatants have had momentum and lost momentum leaving the match for the championship this Sunday evenly poised. The following week on SmackDown with the four participants known, General Manager, Theodore Long booked a blockbuster tag team main event with World Heavyweight Champion, Edge teaming with the Deadman the Undertaker to take on Chris Jericho and Dolph Ziggler. It was Jericho who gained huge momentum by pinning the World Heavyweight Champion just two weeks from the pay-per-view.

On the 10th June edition of WWE Superstars, Dolph Ziggler promised a huge surprise the following night on SmackDown for the Undertaker and as the audience waited in expectation Ziggler seemingly called out the Undertaker only to have a local jobber dressed exactly like the Deadman enter for Dolph to talk trash to. It wasn’t long before a gong sounded, and the real Undertaker entered Tombstoning Ziggler and sending a message to the other participants in the World Heavyweight Championship match. Later in that evening the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions, ShoMiz took on Edge who was forced to team with arch nemesis, Chris Jericho. This was only going to end in one way and as expected Jericho left Edge high and dry and none other than The Miz pinned the World Heavyweight Champion. After this, all hell broke loose and all the lights went out leading to Undertaker Chokeslamming Edge and delivering the Tombstone Piledriver to Chris Jericho. It looks like the Undertaker wants another World Heavyweight Championship reign.

In the last week, everyone had momentum moments apart from the World Heavyweight Champion, Edge. On Superstars, Dolph Ziggler defeated Shelton Benjamin in an athletic all-star sort of match while although the Undertaker was pinned by his brother Kane, he fought off an attack from Ziggler and took him out once more. Perhaps the most significant moment on the last Friday Night SmackDown before Fatal 4 Way was Chris Jericho delivering the Code Breaker on the Cutting Edge and standing holding the title belt over a fallen Rated R Superstar. Edge has it all to do if he is going to retain the title.

John Cena © vs. Batista vs. Sheamus vs. Triple H
FATAL 4 WAY MATCH
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP


Similarly to SmackDown on the Monday Night RAW of 24th May battered and bruised bodies following Extreme Rules competed in Fatal 4 Way qualifying matches for a chance to compete for John Cena’s WWE Championship. The first match saw the Celtic Warrior, Sheamus against one-half of the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions, The Miz with the Irish-born superstar picking up an impressive win. Following this Batista earned another WWE Championship opportunity thanks to Legacy costing Randy Orton the match much to the delight of the Animal. The final man to qualify was the Game, Triple H who managed to pull off a huge win against the Big Show just 24 hours after quitting in a match against Sheamus. So, the field was set, Cena the WWE Champion against Batista, Triple H and Sheamus for the most coveted prize the WWE has to offer.

Later on in the night John Cena was in one-on-one action against Jack Swagger who currently holds the Money in the Bank briefcase and thanks to interference from Batista the All American American won the match to the shock of the WWE Universe. The following week a blockbuster handicap main event was announced with Cena teaming with Triple H to take on Batista, Sheamus and Mr. Money in the Bank, Jack Swagger. However, the WWE Champion and the Game found themselves a tag team partner to even the odds in the main event in the spring-loaded superstar Kofi Kingston. However, Jack Swagger again shocked the world and pinned John Cena, the WWE Champion for the second straight week. Furthermore, because Cena lost the match he received a Pedigree from the Cerebral Assassin for his troubles.

The Monday Night RAW of the 7th of June saw John Cena come out to the ring at the start of the broadcast and call out the Game for his actions at the culmination of the last show. Before the two could speak to one another they threw punches and brawled until security finally got the superstars under control. Further to this, General Manager Vickie Guerrero came out and announced that Batista would face Sheamus and John Cena would face Triple H in the main event. The tension between these four superstars was rising as Batista and Sheamus were both counted out and brawled to the back and then in the main event Cena pulled out a huge momentum-shifting win over Triple H only for both men to be attacked by Batista and Sheamus. However, Cena and Triple H fought the other participants in the WWE Championship match off before John Cena got some retribution by hitting the Attitude Adjustment on Triple H to close the show.

The final edition of RAW this past Monday saw Sheamus dominating everyone and everything. First off, we saw Triple H being carted away in an ambulance thanks to the Celtic Warrior’s actions. This meant the original Tag Team match between the four explosive superstars in the Fatal 4 Way Match became a handicap match with Cena being forced to take on Batista and Sheamus. Sheamus pinned the WWE Champion although he fought valiantly worse was to come as the Animal and the Celtic Warrior got rid of Cena. Sheamus was to then connect with a Brogue Kick to Batista leaving the Irish-born former WWE Champion as the dominant force going into this Sunday’s pay-per-view. Will he walk out of Fatal 4 Way as the new WWE Champion?

-Melina defeated Michelle McCool to become the NEW DIVA’s Champion, she defended against Maryse later in the month

-Jack Swagger kept winning and reminding the top wrestlers on RAW that he has the Money in the Bank briefcase

-Carlito and Chris Masters reunited and decided to become a tag team

-Christian defeated Lance Cade to retain his United States Championship

-RAW General Manager, Vickie Guerrero continued to irk the babyface wrestlers on the roster

SmackDown

-John Morrison took on a returning Joey Mercury who blamed him for his career going down the pan after MNM broke up – Morrison picked up the win

-Beth Phoenix became the number one contender for the DIVA’s Championship despite losing a match via countout against Melina

-Kane and Finlay picked up some impressive wins

Enjoying getting to read up on what's happening here so when you get to new content I'll actually know what's going on. Makes sense to have the three Fatal 4 Way matches on the card because it's a themed PPV. Definitely most looking forward to seeing what you do with Punk and The Straight Edge Society through this PPV and moving forward. Easily the match I'm most anticipating heading into the PPV.

DARK MATCH: Lance Cade defeated Santino Marella

WWE Fatal 4 Way – Sunday 20th June 2010 – Uniondale, New York

A video package highlighting a selection of the rivalries going into tonight plays and hypes the Fatal 4 Way aspect of both the World Heavyweight and the WWE Championship matches. The video ends with Sheamus standing tall on the last edition of Monday Night RAW after dominating his three opponents; Triple H, Batista and the current WWE Champion, John Cena. The official theme song for the pay per view, Saliva’s Always then begins to play.

The camera focuses on the titantron area where there is a big Fatal 4 Way logo on a unique set with four upright standing television slither screens which the superstars in each match will be projected. A massive firework set goes off with red, black and white shooting everywhere before the camera pans over the crowd which is sold out in Uniondale, New York. The camera then finally settles on the announce table at ringside where Michael Cole, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Josh Mathews are standing by to welcome us to the pay per view.


Cole:
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Fatal 4 Way, my name is Michael Cole alongside WWE Hall of Famer Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Josh Mathews from Friday Night SmackDown! Tonight promises to be ground shaking for the WWE as both the WWE and the World Heavyweight Championship will be defended by John Cena and Edge respectively against three other opponents. The odds are stacked against the champions here tonight, King.
King:
They certainly are Cole, but you have to believe the WWE Champion, John Cena may be able to find a way to pick up the victory and retain the championship. Cena has overcome obstacle after obstacle in his career but this one could be too far even for the nine-time champion.
Cole:
And the Rated R Superstar from SmackDown, Edge competes against nemesis Chris Jericho, the Phenom the Undertaker and the man who has risen massively over the past month, Dolph Ziggler. We are joined by our SmackDown colleague, Josh Mathews, can Edge retain the World Heavyweight Championship which he won defeating Chris Jericho in a TLC match at Extreme Rules?
Mathews:
If there is one man in the whole of the WWE, Edge may be able to do it, known as the Ultimate Opportunist, he is going to need to use that quality better than ever before in order to hang onto the coveted gold. Not only that Cole, tonight the Intercontinental, Unified WWE Tag Team and right now the Cruiserweight Championship will be on the line.

Justin Roberts, the RAW ring announcer is in the ring and he states that the following Fatal 4 Way Match is for the Cruiserweight Championship of the World. On this note, the champion’s music hits and Evan Bourne makes his way to the ring making the peace sign as he always does. Bourne is wearing new wrestling attire of a black and green type as he taunts to the crowd with the Cruiserweight Championship belt. Next to enter is Zack Ryder who almost gets booed out of the building wearing his orange and purple attire and swiftly making his way to the ring. The mood stays negative as Gregory Helms enters looking arrogant as ever slowly walking and staring at Evan Bourne clearly feeling it is his time to become Cruiserweight Champion. Finally, the mood becomes positive again with the arrival of the American Dragon who has his trademark colour wrestling trunks on with Regal printed on the front of them in homage to the recently retired Blackpool brawler. The crowd go wild for Daniel Bryan as all four Cruiserweights are in the ring and the referee rings the bell for the match to begin.

The match starts with all four superstars in the four corners of the ring ready to pounce. As soon as the bell rings they all run towards each other in the middle of the ring and fists and kicks fly in all different directions in a manic exchange at the start of the match. After this opening exchange, Daniel Bryan finds himself fighting Gregory Helms and Evan Bourne is going at it with Zack Ryder. Evan dominates Ryder hitting several kicks and a nice spinning heel kick which sends Ryder out of the ring and to the floor hard. In the other altercation between Helms and Bryan the American Dragon takes advantage connecting with a Northern Lights Suplex and then clotheslining the former Cruiserweight Champion outside.

Both Bourne and Daniel Bryan look at each other when they realise that Gregory Helms and Zack Ryder are both struggling to their feet near the entrance ramp. Both Bourne and Bryan run off the ropes and hit Suicide Dives onto the two other members in the match as the crowd start chanting that the match is awesome, and the commentators go crazy. All four men take some time to regroup before it is indeed Evan Bourne and Daniel Bryan who return to the ring and start going at it with Bourne being tossed into the turnbuckle and the American Dragon hitting a brutal dropkick before going to the top rope and hitting a beautiful missile dropkick to Zack Ryder who has just returned to the ring.

As Bryan gets back to his feet and taunts clearly with adrenaline flowing through his veins, he is blindsided by Helms who clotheslines Bryan from behind and then connects with a devastating fireman’s carry spun out into a facebreaker knee smash. Helms attempts the first pinfall of the match, but he is only able to get a two count. On the other side of the ring Ryder is going at it with Bourne and the arrogant superstar from Long Island, New York hits a nice swinging neckbreaker and pins but he can only get a two count as well. The match continues with Ryder and Helms now focusing their attention on Bourne after throwing Bryan out of the squared circle.

Cole:
This is not good for the Cruiserweight Champion, Evan Bourne, this match has been frantic so far, but he now finds himself being targeted by both Zack Ryder and Gregory Helms. If these two can eliminate Bourne they can then fight one another, and we will be guaranteed a new Cruiserweight Champion here tonight. This is all about the champion having a huge disadvantage in Fatal 4 Way matches, King.
King:
You’re not kidding, Cole. It wouldn’t surprise me if we have new champions in all the Fatal 4 Way matches here tonight. If I was a champion, you literally just hope that you get a little bit of luck and possibly steal a pinfall to retain your championship. Evan Bourne is looking to be very vulnerable right here, he better hope that Helms and Ryder turn on one another and fast.
Mathews:
This is all about Fatal 4 Way rules as you said Cole. Evan Bourne started off the match well with the American Dragon, Daniel Bryan with that amazing double Suicide Dive but since then Zack Ryder and Gregory Helms have made a good comeback and now it looks like one of them will most likely walk out with the Cruiserweight gold but anything could still happen.

Ryder and Helms continue to hammer away at Evan Bourne before they hit a nice double dropkick and then a double flapjack on the current Cruiserweight Champion. Ryder and Helms now toss Bourne hard into the turnbuckle and Helms runs at him hitting a clothesline which sends the champion to a seated position at the turnbuckle. Zack Ryder sees this as an opportunity and he hits his trademark Broski Boot facewash which the crowd cheers as Ryder is in his home state. Before he can taunt though, Gregory Helms quickly throws Ryder over the top rope and focuses on Bourne, stomping away and going to the second rope looking to hit an elbow or leg drop perhaps. However, before we find out what move Helms was going to go for Daniel Bryan is on the apron and pushes him off the apron and to the floor outside of the ring.

Helms lands hard as Bryan and Bourne are now face-to-face in the ring and the fans go crazy as they are finally going to get the confrontation they have wanted to see for weeks, ever since Zack Ryder ruined their match on RAW with the title on the line. The two start to throw punches and kicks at one another and the crowd go crazy as the two fan favourites put on some high flying, fast paced action. Evan Bourne connects with a beautiful roll up attempt for a near fall and Daniel Bryan locks in the Guillotine hold which has Bourne very close to tapping before driving Bryan into the turnbuckle back first. Ryder and Helms now return but Bryan is on fire and connects with a clothesline to both and a huge kick to the face of Ryder but as he goes for the pin Bourne breaks it up.

All four men are in the ring and things have come full circle with everyone going crazy at each other. Out of nowhere, Zack Ryder runs at Evan Bourne but he ducks underneath and instead the Rough Ryder connects with Daniel Bryan! As Ryder thinks about going for the pinfall attempt, he is met with the Nightmare on Helms Street but as he turns around Evan Bourne delivers a high knee which flattens him. Bourne goes to the top rope and here it is! The Shooting Star Press which connects! Bourne pins as Daniel Bryan and Zack Ryder stir; 1… 2… 3! Bourne gets the pinfall despite the best efforts of Ryder and Bryan to break it up. Bourne has done it, he retains the Cruiserweight Championship!

Winner: Evan Bourne (STILL Cruiserweight Champion)

Mathews:
What a match and against the odds, Evan Bourne has retained the Cruiserweight Championship! I didn’t think he was going to do it halfway through that match but that frantic finish lent itself to Air Bourne as he hit a beautiful Shooting Star Press, fittingly on the man who has caused him the most problems over the past month or so, Gregory Helms.
King:
Evan Bourne retained and you’re right Josh, it really didn’t look as if he was going to halfway through that bout. Since the Cruiserweight Championship has returned the division is stronger than ever before and in my opinion, it is only a matter of time before we see these guys main eventing shows such as tonight, they are simply unbelievable athletes. What a start to Fatal 4 Way!
Cole:
King, this was one hell of a match you are right but in my estimation the Cruiserweight Championship has got a lot of work to do if it is going to compete with the premier belts such as the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship. However, the talent we have in the division is no doubt exciting, Evan Bourne retaining was a surprise but congratulations to Air Bourne who overcame the odds!

As the announcers are talking, the camera is scanning around the ring looking at the fallen bodies of Gregory Helms, Zack Ryder and Daniel Bryan as an exhausted Evan Bourne celebrates holding his Cruiserweight Championship while having his hand raised by the official. He goes up to the two camera facing turnbuckles and taunts and gets a great ovation from the Uniondale crowd before he makes his way up the ramp and the camera cuts backstage to the dressing room of Legacy.

Ted DiBiase:
So, Cody remember the plan, two of us and Randy, we have the numbers advantage it is time to end his career, but remember the agreement we have in place.

Cody Rhodes:
I know Ted, we have been through it all day and I’m here to help you. After all we are both no doubt future Hall of Famers, we are far better than our parents and Randy is just a steppingstone to greatness for the two of us. After tonight Legacy can move onto bigger and better things.

Ted DiBiase:
Cody, stop thinking too far ahead, just think about tonight.

Cody Rhodes:
Don’t worry Ted. I’m definitely thinking about tonight, I will be out there when you need me. It is time for the Viper to be exterminated.

The camera cuts back to the ring as RAW ring announcer Justin Roberts announces that the following contest is a FALLS COUNT ANYWHERE MATCH! The music of The Viper, Randy Orton hits and he looks angry and quickly makes his way to the ring getting a huge ovation from the sold-out crowd. He is wearing black trunks with orange livery as the theme music of Ted DiBiase hits but before Ted can get half way down the ramp, Randy Orton is out of the ring and meeting him half way up levelling him with a clothesline.

Randy Orton has full control of Ted DiBiase in the early going as he pummels the Fortunate Son on the entrance ramp. Orton keeps hammering away as DiBiase is paying for his actions over the past two months. Randy continues to hammer away before picking Ted up and Suplexing him on the diamond plate at the end of the entrance ramp. DiBiase screams in pain as Orton punches his own head and his eyes go Viper-like as the crowd go crazy at what they just saw. Orton goes for the pin, but the referee says both men need to go to the ring and the bell be rung before the match is officially underway. This being said Orton gets DiBiase up on his shoulders and throws him in the ring before entering himself and almost daring the referee to ring the bell which he does and the match is now officially underway.

The Legend Killer continues to dominate Irish whipping DiBiase hard into the turnbuckle hitting a back suplex and then methodically stomping on every joint on the brash youngster’s body. Orton pins but only gets a two count as he smirks as he clearly didn’t want to end it this early anyway. The Apex Predator lifts his former brethren and throws him over the top rope and to the floor below before looking under the ring and finding a Kendo Stick. The former WWE Champion plays around with the stick in his hand before walking over to DiBiase with it and going to hit him.

However, the son of the Million Dollar Man is shrewd and hits a drop toehold which culminated in Orton’s head bouncing off the steel ring steps. Ted now tries to gather himself and picks up the Kendo Stick himself awaiting Orton to get to his feet as the sound of wood on flesh echoes around the arena. DiBiase goes wild with the Kendo Stick and actually breaks it with the force of the impact. He stands on the steel steps as Randy Orton is flat on his back and connects with a fist drop in homage to his father. DiBiase pins; 1, 2… Orton unsurprisingly kicks out as DiBiase looks on frustrated.

Mathews:
What a start to this match with Randy Orton looking invincible in the early part and even hitting the suplex on the entrance ramp to the delight of this sold-out crowd. However, since then Ted DiBiase has proven his worth in the squared circle with them sickening shots which broke that Kendo Stick and look King, look at the welts coming up on Orton’s chest and back because of the brutality we have seen so far.
King:
That Kendo Stick hurts I can tell you from experience and Orton has tasted the steel steps, DiBiase is in this contest don’t worry about that, at this rate he might not need Cody Rhodes promised assistance but there did seem to be some tension between the two Legacy teammates don’t you think Cole?
Cole:
King do you not remember what happened a few weeks ago? DiBiase is only in this match because he chucked Rhodes out of the ring, I think it could well be an act though, I mean there is no greater unifying force for these guys than destroying the career of their former leader, Randy Orton. I believe they will stop at nothing to do exactly that here tonight.

Ted DiBiase looks to be totally on top in the match and he goes to toss Orton into the barricade wall but instead Orton turns the tables once more and clotheslines DiBiase over the barricade wall into the crowd. The two start to brawl all through the crowd with each of them taking it in turns to look like they were dominating one another. The biggest turning point in this sequence is when Randy Orton lifts DiBiase up and he lands sternum first on a metal railing to separate fans. The two have now made their way out of the ring area and backstage through a ticket entrance and into a foyer area. They enter an area where there is a food stand and Orton tosses DiBiase into it and his back hits the counter hard. The Viper looks to be in total control as he gets his former Legacy teammate to his feet and empties a trash can on him before nailing him with the can itself. DiBiase falls to the floor as he pins; 1… 2… Ted DiBiase gets the shoulder up at the last possible moment.

Orton looks more demonic than ever and has victory in his sights but as he goes for an RKO, Ted DiBiase counters unbelievably as he throws Orton off of him and the former WWE Champion lands hard on the counter which collapses. The crowd gasps at the impact and both men are down, and the referee can do nothing but wait for them to get to their feet. They both slug it out once more after being down for almost thirty seconds as the announcers summarise some replays of the brutality. The two eventually slug it out and end up on the entrance ramp as the crowd cheer because they are in full view once again. They both hammer away at one another until they are both on the edge of the ramp. Both superstars look like they are planning something huge here. However, before the two superstars fall off the edge, Ted DiBiase locks in the Cobra Clutch submission hold and Orton fades fast on the ramp. It looks like DiBiase may have the match won so he pins; 1…… 2…… Orton kicks out. Without further ado, Cody Rhodes comes through the apron and gets unbelievable heat from the crowd as he has a steel chair in his hands and the crowd know what is coming.

King:
What the hell is Cody Rhodes doing out here, I know he and DiBiase had a plan, but Ted was doing just fine this is just uncalled for. Legacy is going to ruin what has been a great match and I fear for Randy Orton he is in major trouble in this predicament. Come on Orton!
Mathews:
I am with you King, but in this match, Orton knew what was likely to happen, you have to wonder why Orton didn’t think about strategy and maybe getting someone on his side to combat Cody Rhodes. This is only going to end in one way and that is with The Viper being incapacitated and wheeled out of here on a stretcher.
Cole:
You guys might be underestimating the amazing things we have seen Randy Orton do in the past. Yes, the odds are stacked against him, but Randy has overcome the odds on so many occasions throughout his career, can he do it right here tonight at Fatal 4 Way though?

Rhodes is out on the stage and Ted DiBiase directs him to whack Orton with the chair and he looks like he is going to do it but suddenly Cody Rhodes nails Ted DiBiase with the steel chair sending him to the steel on the entrance ramp. Rhodes shouts and screams at DiBiase saying that Legacy is over as the crowd erupt. Rhodes gets The Fortunate Son in position and there it is the Cross Rhodes! DiBiase’s head bounces headfirst off the steel entrance ramp as the crowd again pop. Orton is back to his feet as Rhodes looks at the Legend Killer and smirks as if this was the plan between all along, Orton smiles back and puts his hand out for Cody to shake who immediately goes to shake it. However, Orton delivers the RKO! RKO to Cody Rhodes who just took out Ted DiBiase seemingly as Orton had planned with his former Legacy brethren. Orton smiles as the crowd go into a frenzy and Orton covers Ted DiBiase as the referee gets to his knees. 1……………2……………3! Randy Orton has defeated Ted DiBiase in a Falls Count Anywhere match thanks to Cody Rhodes turning on his teammate and Legacy is done for good.

Winner: Randy Orton

Cole:
Oh my! Randy Orton wins. Orton wins! What an RKO to Cody Rhodes after he stabbed Ted DiBiase in the back in what was seemingly a plan made between him and Orton, this must have been because of what Ted did to get in the match in the first place. Randy Orton overcomes the odds once again.
King:
This is the end of Legacy; I think Randy Orton can now rest after proving to be the superior man. The Viper has slithered his way to victory in one of the cleverest and manipulative ways I have ever witnessed. That RKO was sickening but that Cross Rhodes on Ted DiBiase was equally devastating, look at the pain etched across DiBiase’s face.
Mathews:
What a match and what a Fatal 4 Way so far but hang on it doesn’t look like Randy Orton is finished here at all. No, Randy you have done enough what are you doing, Orton?!

Randy Orton celebrates for a good while as the announcers go crazy about the match and several replays are shown. Orton turns his attention to Cody Rhodes who is moving slowly and something switches in Orton’s personality as his eyes go to an icy stare as he takes a few steps back quickly and the crowd know exactly what is about to happen. Orton runs at Rhodes and delivers the punt to the head of his former Legacy friend and protégé. Orton is in the zone still and he sees DiBiase in perfect position on the very edge of the stage, he runs at him and there it is again, another punt and the force sees DiBiase fly off the stage and through two tables which had electrical and other equipment on. DiBiase is knocked out as medics run either side of Randy Orton who grins at what he has just done as referees try to calm down the Viper. Randy Orton has destroyed Legacy single-handedly as Rhodes and DiBiase are placed on stretchers and slowly taken from the arena to nearby medical facilities. The screen fades and an advertisement for the upcoming pay per view Money in the Bank plays.

Cole:
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back to Fatal 4 Way and what we witnessed moments ago was frankly sickening. Randy Orton just near decapitated his former Legacy teammates with punts to the head. The punt delivered to Ted DiBiase left the superstar unconscious as he went through tables with electrical equipment on them. Both members of Legacy have been taken to nearby medical facilities and we hope to have an update on their condition on tomorrow night’s edition of RAW.
King:
It was sick, you are right Cole, but Legacy did bring this on themselves, they pushed Orton week in, week out and the Viper finally snapped here tonight. I don’t think Orton is going to have to worry about the members of Legacy from this point forward, I am not sure we will ever see Ted DiBiase in a WWE ring again. This crowd are in shock, but Fatal 4 Way has so much more to give yet.
Mathews:
Yes, it does King and we still have the Fatal Way matches for the WWE and the World Heavyweight Championship but up next is a battle between four men in a rematch from Extreme Rules. This time Bret Hart will not be the special referee and many people think that the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions, ShoMiz will hold the championships for the foreseeable future.

A video montage plays summarising the rivalry between The Hart Dynasty and the current Unified WWE Tag Team Champion, ShoMiz. The end of the video shows Big Show and The Miz standing tall over The Hart Dynasty this past Friday night on SmackDown. The music of the champions hits with their custom mash-up theme playing and both the Big Show and The Miz receiving a lot of heat from this New York crowd.

The mood changes drastically as the electric guitar sounds and The Hart Dynasty flanked by Natalya and to a huge ovation Bret Hart makes his way to the ring as well. They are all in trademark pink wrestling attire and as they make their way to the ring, they high-five the fans. The two teams are in the ring as referee Jack Doan holds the championship belts in the air signalling they are up for grabs as the bell sounds and this Unified WWE Tag Team Championship match is underway.

The match gets underway with The Miz and Tyson Kidd locking up. The last graduate of the Hart Dungeon has The Miz on the back foot in the early going as his quickness stops the former United States Champion from gaining any momentum. Tyson takes The Miz down with several amateur moves before hitting a beautiful pinpoint dropkick to the face of the reality star as he was running looking to take out Tyson. Kidd tags in David Hart Smith and the two members of The Hart Dynasty isolate the smaller member of the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions as Bret Hart and Natalya both applaud the work of the pink clad superstars. Smith and Kidd connect with a beautiful double suplex before Smith hits a beautiful scoop slam and follows it up with a Northern Lights Suplex into a bridge for the pin attempt but Miz has the wherewithal to kick his way out of the predicament.

DH Smith quickly tosses The Miz back into the corner and tags in Tyson Kidd who springboards off the top rope and hits a nice clothesline as Smith holds Miz to elevate the amount of impact from the move. The crowd cheers loudly as Tyson Kidd taunts towards them and shouts ‘New Champions, baby!’ As Kidd turns around he gets The Miz to his feet and goes for a number of punches but The Miz out of nowhere hits a big boot which floors the challenger. The Miz is struggling and slowly gets on top of Kidd before hitting him with a few punches to the head; he only stops when the referee is at a count of four. It seems that the tables have turned as The Miz now hits a nice DDT which connects hard to Kidd. He gets Tyson in the inverted DDT position before hitting his backbreaker sending his knee into the back of Kidd before turning it into a devastating neckbreaker. The Miz has turned the momentum around in the match as he pins Tyson Kidd; 1… 2 … The shoulder is up as Natalya looks concerned on the outside.

Mathews:
The Miz has turned the momentum around in this match after it looked like he was going to single-handedly lose the gold. Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith have dominated this match so far much to the enjoyment of Natalya and Hall of Famer, Bret Hart at ringside.
King:
They have Josh, but neither of them managed to pin The Miz and I think if they allow the World’s Largest Athlete, the Big Show to get into that ring their chances of winning the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships will disintegrate extremely quickly.
Cole:
The Miz has been impressive here tonight; the future of the WWE is going to retain the Tag Team Titles alone even though he has the Big Show there if he did need any help. In my estimation, The Miz could be the future of this company and we are seeing exactly why here tonight.

The match continues with The Miz acting his cocky and arrogant self against Tyson Kidd who seems to be in big trouble in this match. The Miz tosses his opponent into the turnbuckle and runs full speed, connecting with his trademark corner clothesline as he grins and the crowd give him lots of heat. The Miz then stalks Tyson Kidd and delivers a snap suplex before stomping away at the smaller man in The Hart Dynasty. He pins but Tyson will not give up that easily and gets the shoulder up. The Miz is now getting agitated, picks Tyson up and goes for a wild clothesline but Kidd ducks underneath and delivers an impactful roundhouse kick which sends The Miz to the canvas. Could this be it? Tyson puts one arm over his opponent; 1………… 2………… The Miz gets the shoulder up. Both men are now down in the centre of the ring and the referee begins to count. As he reaches six both men are stirring and on eight both make a tag to their respective tag team partners David Hart Smith and the Big Show!

DH Smith runs and shoulder tackles Big Show, but he doesn’t budge, Smith does it once again and has Show rocking. David Hart Smith runs and delivers a big boot to the face of the giant which sends him down to one knee. Smith looks to hit another one, but he is taken off his feet by a monumental clothesline from Show who receives huge boos from this sold-out crowd. Tyson Kidd runs in at Big Show, but he sends him straight over the tope rope and to the floor near the announce tables. David Hart Smith is brought to his feet by the Big Show who places him at a turnbuckle before slapping him hard against the chest three times and the crowd boos loudly as Smith’s chest is a deep shade of red. The Giant taunts to get even more heat before tossing Smith like a ragdoll halfway across the ring and tagging in The Miz to continue his dirty work. Miz then kicks Smith and hits the Reality Check. The Miz covers; 1………… 2…………… Smith gets the shoulder up at the last minute. The Miz cannot believe it and tags in Big Show immediately.

King:
The Miz thought he had David Hart Smith finished there but I am telling you The Hart Dynasty have got some legs for sure. The Miz cannot believe it; look at him he is going crazy on the apron disrespecting the WWE Universe. I hope ShoMiz lose the Unified WWE Tag Team Titles, look at this jerk!
Mathews:
The Miz has no respect for any of the WWE Universe King, it is all about him. The Miz claims he is the future of the WWE, and you have to say his actions in the ring back up what he says, it is the way he acts outside which irritates everyone who is unfortunate to encounter him.
Cole:
Guys, you have got to respect what The Miz has done here though. He is one half of the most dominant tag team in WWE history in my eyes and was also a United States Champion. Not only that, but Big Show is also now back in that ring which means one thing and one thing only, it is a matter of time before the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions retain the gold.

Big Show comes in and continues the domination which was started by The Miz. Show runs in and shoulder blocks Smith to the mat before Bret Hart gets on the apron. Hart starts to berate Show which is not a good idea especially with Show in the mood he seems to be in tonight. Big Show walks over to The Hitman smirking and looks to go for his WMD punch but Tyson Kidd springs off the top rope and looks to hit a crossbody. Big Show catches Kidd and laughs at how pathetic the onslaught from The Hart Dynasty is. Tyson is now in a vulnerable position and Big Show lifts him above his head before throwing him out of the ring onto the floor for the second time in the match. Show lifts his hand high above his head and signals for the Chokeslam. Show has David Hart Smith by the throat but as he lifts him in the air The Miz tags himself in which puts off the giant. Big Show shouts at The Miz and asks why he tagged himself in when he was about to end the match for The Hart Dynasty.

The Miz responds angrily and tells Show he has done his work and to get out of the ring. Show reluctantly gets out of the ring and The Miz thanks him before turning around. David Hart Smith hits a huge, big boot on The Miz and goes for the quick cover; 1………… 2………… Miz just gets the shoulder up yet again. What a match this has been! Smith cannot believe that The Miz kicked out, but he focuses on what he is going to do next instead. David Hart Smith gets The Miz on his shoulder ready to hit the running powerslam in homage to his father the British Bulldog. The crowd cheers loudly as Show has one leg over the top rope anticipating he is going to help out his tag team partner. However, Tyson Kidd jumps off the top rope and dropkicks the face of Big Show knocking him off the apron and his head bounces off the edge of the ring. Smith runs and there it is the running powerslam which connects. DH Smith covers as all the Harts at ringside go crazy. 1………… 2………… 3! The Hart Dynasty have done it, we have NEW Unified WWE Tag Team Champions in what was a classic tag team match!

Winners: The Hart Dynasty (NEW Unified WWE Tag Team Champions)

David Hart Smith pinned The Miz. Smith pinned Miz! The Hart Dynasty are the NEW Unified WWE Tag Team Champions. Nearly everybody wrote them off including me, but they have found a way to overcome ShoMiz and we have seen new champions crowned here tonight. Listen to this crowd; they are going insane for Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith, the NEW Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.
Cole:
They have done it and what an unbelievable match that was. I was with you Josh, I gave them absolutely no chance of capturing the gold here tonight, but against all the odds they have managed to do it. The Miz was pinned and in my eyes needs to learn a big lesson after he tagged himself in when Big Show was about to retain the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships for ShoMiz. Nonetheless The Hart Dynasty are the NEW Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.
King:
And what an end to that match, Tyson Kidd literally threw himself at the Big Show for Smith to be able to hit that beautiful running powerslam for the 1, 2, 3. I think this could be the end of ShoMiz as well; I would not want to be The Miz. He is going to have one angry giant on his hands after that stunt he pulled here tonight but what a match!

In the ring Tyson Kidd, David Hart Smith, Natalya and Hall of Famer, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart celebrates as the crowd in Uniondale, New York go crazy and salute the new Unified WWE Tag Team Champions. They each ascend a turnbuckle with Tyson and Smith on the camera facing ones holding the two championship belts up in the air each. They point towards them as The Miz is shown on camera lying on the floor as the Big Show is walking angrily up the ramp shouting things which The Miz will not want to hear. The camera then cuts backstage to Matt Striker who is on interview duty.

Matt Striker:
Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time he is the current Intercontinental Champion, the Sinister Scotsman, DREW MCINTYRE!

The crowd boos loudly as the Scotsman wearing his white and blue wrestling attire comes into shot with his championship over his shoulder smirking in order to annoy the WWE fans even more.

Matt Striker:
Drew, up next you are forced to put that championship, the Intercontinental Championship on the line against Matt Hardy. With the recent injury sustained by William Regal which has forced him to retire and effectively making this a legitimate one-on-one contest, what are your chances of walking out of Fatal 4 Way still the Intercontinental Champion?

Intercontinental Champion - Drew McIntyre:
Matt, I am the Chosen One. I have proven myself time and time again since coming to the WWE and the chairman of the board himself singled me out to carry this company for decades to come. As for tonight, I face Matt Hardy who is still living in the past in the days of the tag team championships he held along with his lunatic brother. Matt, tonight you will receive a dose of reality as the Sinister Scotsman; Drew McIntyre will retain the Intercontinental Championship and prove to the world that I am the best wrestler in this company. And Matt I am sick of being disrespected around here so you better be watching because I am not only going to win, but I am also going to destroy Matt Hardy and after that I am going onto bigger and better things, the World Heavyweight Championship.

Tony Chimel:
The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is for the INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Matt Hardy’s music hits and as he bursts through the curtain the crowd go nuts. He is wearing red and blue camouflage trousers much like the titantron and there is a sense that Hardy could finally hold a major singles championship along with his previous United States reign. However, the Intercontinental Championship is arguably more prestigious. Hardy enters the ring, ascends the turnbuckle and taunts before the slow, methodical music of the champion kicks in.

Everyone’s television sets at home see the opening to the entrance video of McIntyre as it zooms in before the drums and guitar come in and McIntyre slowly walks to the ring to the beat of his music. He smirks arrogantly wearing his championship around his waist before entering and getting straight into Matt Hardy’s face. The referee raises the Intercontinental Championship in the air to signal it is on the line and rings the bell for the match to get underway.

The match starts slowly with both wrestlers feeling other out in the early going. Neither of them wants to make a mistake in the early going which could give the momentum to their opponent. They lock up but it is inevitably McIntyre who gets the best of it as he delivers a thumb to the eye as it looked like the two were going to take part in a test of strength. McIntyre takes full control with a brutal clothesline and then tosses Hardy into the turnbuckle. The Sinister Scotsman hits several European Uppercuts before kicking the multiple time tag team champion in the gut until the referee breaks them up. Drew brings Matt Hardy to the centre of the ring and slaps him in the face before delivering a snap suplex and going for the first pin attempt in the match. Hardy kicks out solidly as the referee reaches two. McIntyre stomps away at the challenger as he is on the canvas and the crowd boos loudly as he taunts and shouts that he will still be the champion when he finishes Hardy for good.

McIntyre turns around and hoists Hardy onto his shoulders before driving his knees into the sternum of his adversary with the gutbuster. McIntyre goes for the cover once again, getting yet another two count. Drew grabs Hardy and throws him out of the ring and things are not looking good for the former ECW and United States Champion. McIntyre looks to grab Hardy and tries to toss him into the steel steps, but it is reversed and instead the Intercontinental Champion goes shoulder-first into the steel and the sound reverberates around the arena. The crowd cheers as Hardy gets to his feet and goes back into the ring. He looks battered and hurt already and it is very early in the match. He holds his ribs before running off the ropes and delivering a nice baseball slide to Drew McIntyre before he goes out and tosses the Chosen One back into the ring. Hardy gets in the ring and delivers a nice Russian Leg Sweep before going to the second rope as the crowd cheers. Hardy hits a beautiful leg drop and goes for the pin; 1… 2… McIntyre just gets the shoulder up.

King:
It looked like this one could have been over pretty early, but Matt Hardy has come back in this match tremendously. He is on top right now and it may be a matter of time before he fulfils a lifetime goal and becomes the new Intercontinental Champion. I personally hope he does, what a story it would be.
Cole:
He looks good right now no doubt about it but we cannot count out the Sinister Scotsman and the current Intercontinental Champion, Drew McIntyre that easily. He has held that championship for a significant period of time and who’s to say he won’t walk out of here still with the gold.
Mathews:
Regardless of whom wins this has been a great match yet again here tonight at what has been a great Fatal 4 Way pay-per-view. Matt Hardy is still building momentum and I really hope we will crown a new Intercontinental Champion right here tonight!

The match continues with Matt Hardy on top and looking impressive as the crowd continues to chant his name and are fully behind him in this Intercontinental Championship match. Hardy stalks McIntyre as he gets to his feet and hits a nice neckbreaker followed by some hard punches and then a big back body drop for yet another two count. Hardy is getting a little frustrated at how resilient the Scotsman is being and perhaps in an act of desperation he looks for the Twist of Fate. However, Drew sees it coming easily and catapults Hardy into the ring post shoulder-first and skin off steel is heard throughout the arena as the crowd gasps. McIntyre continues with his aggressive behaviour and hits a textbook tilt-a-whirl backbreaker followed by a belly-to-belly suplex. The Sinister Scotsman puts his arms out wide taunting to the crowd who give him nothing but heat.

McIntyre sets up a groggy Matt Hardy for the Future Shock but the challenger is able to get out of the predicament and hit a huge Side Effect! Hardy covers the Intercontinental Champion; 1……… 2……… McIntyre gets his foot on the bottom rope! Everyone in the area thought we were about to crown a new champion, but Drew McIntyre once again found a way of getting out of a bad situation. The crowd are getting louder and louder as the sense we are nearing the culmination of the match with both men showing signs of exhaustion. They throw punches at one another until Hardy gets the better of his nemesis and tosses him into the turnbuckle. He runs and delivers a clothesline and follows it up with an impactful bulldog. Hardy is feeling it and this is his moment to capture the Intercontinental Title. The challenger sets Drew McIntyre up for the Twist of Fate but as he goes for it, McIntyre reverses and rolls his opponent up; 1…………… 2………… 3! Drew McIntyre was holding the ropes to gain leverage and Hardy couldn’t kick out. McIntyre retains his precious title thanks to cheating.

Winner: Drew McIntyre (STILL Intercontinental Champion)

Mathews:
Damn it, Drew McIntyre retains thanks to cheating yet again, I honestly thought that with the injured William Regal unable to assist McIntyre tonight was going to be the night for Matt Hardy. Once again, he was unable to capture the Intercontinental Championship thanks to the Sinister Scotsman manipulating the rules yet again. I wonder what General Manager, Theodore Long will have to say about this.
King:
Well, if I was Long, I would seriously stack the odds against McIntyre in his next defence. He keeps cheating to survive and retain the Intercontinental Championship, and quite honestly it is ridiculous, that title has been held by many Hall of Famers and they must be outraged by the shame McIntyre is bringing upon the championship.
Cole:
Oh, please, McIntyre did nothing wrong, yes, he used the ropes for leverage, but it is that old saying, King. If you don’t get caught it isn’t cheating. Drew McIntyre wins once again and is still the Intercontinental Champion. Hardy fell short once again and the Sinister Scotsman looks unbeatable as the champion. What a night it has been here so far at Fatal 4 Way.

Matt Hardy looks extremely angry in the ring and McIntyre rolls out of the ring with his championship as the referee raises his hand. Drew quickly makes his way up the ramp to put some distance between himself and Matt Hardy as the replays are shown on the big screen. Hardy realises what has happened and immediately leaves the ring and attempts to chase Drew, but McIntyre is well out of reach as he gets in a car and leaves quickly before Hardy can cause any damage to the Intercontinental Champion. The camera then cuts back to ringside.

Mathews:
Well, it is now time for our next match and it sees the Straight Edge Society finally competing in a match where the odds are even after Rey Mysterio found one hell of a tag team partner this past Friday. Tonight, Mysterio teams with the six-time World Heavyweight Champion, Booker T who has made his return to the WWE!

A video montage plays highlighting the return of Booker T this past Friday on SmackDown. The camera then cuts to Tony Chimel in the ring who announces the combatants for the following contest. CM Punk and Luke Gallows accompanied by Serena make their way to the ring first and they are wearing red and grey attire. They slowly make their way down the entrance ramp to a lot of heat, but Punk just laughs it off before getting a microphone.

Before he can speak though, Rey Mysterio’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring, not stupid enough to get in the ring though as he realises the odds are against him. Mysterio is wearing black and green as the familiar music of Booker T hits the PA system, and this has to be the loudest ovation of the evening so far. Booker makes his way down next to Mysterio but instead of getting in the ring he has a microphone and begins to speak.


Booker T:
Punk and Gallows you think that having a tag team match means that we have evened the odds, well you are wrong. You see dawgs, we haven’t forgotten about the other person in your so-called society. That is right, Serena what is it you call her the Straight Edge Slut or something? Well guess what? I have got someone to even the odds and she is as tough as you could ever believe. And I am speaking from experience; please welcome my wife and your Queen, Sharmell!

King:
Oh my, Sharmell has returned along with Booker T and the odds are truly even now. Look at Serena she looks like she has seen a ghost and as for CM Punk and Luke Gallows I don’t think I have ever seen them so angry. This is going to be one heck of a match and here we go!

The match starts with Booker T and Luke Gallows and the returning wrestler takes full control in the early going hitting a few punches and chops with Gallows in the turnbuckle. Booker T is on fire and looks like he has never been away from the squared circle as he delivers kicks, suplexes and several double team moves with the exciting as ever, Rey Mysterio. Eventually Booker connects with a Sidewalk Slam before tagging in Mysterio who hits a beautiful springboard leg drop and covers for a two count. Mysterio connects with a number of kicks to Luke Gallows before hitting his trademark bulldog for another near fall as the crowd go crazy for this tag team they have not seen together in any match for a number of years if at all. Mysterio runs off the ropes again and this time looks for a spinning leg scissors takedown, but Gallows has it well scouted and instead throws Mysterio headfirst into the turnbuckle before delivering a huge, big boot, and falling into a tag to his Straight Edge Saviour, CM Punk.

Punk comes in and looks like a man on a mission wanting to hurt every inch of Rey Mysterio with stomps, elbows, kicks and even a few headbutts to keep the biggest little man in WWE history grounded. CM Punk delivers a beautiful double underhook backbreaker and goes for a pin attempt of his own but can only achieve a near fall. Punk doesn’t lose focus and makes some frequent tags with Luke Gallows with the two of them hitting a double flapjack as Mysterio writhes around in pain on the canvas. Gallows then hits a nice neckbreaker and tags Punk back in who hits a nice powerslam as it looked like Mysterio was getting a head of steam up. CM Punk went to the outside and hit a springboard clothesline before tossing Mysterio into the turnbuckle. Punk runs to hit his high knee, but Booker T pushed Mysterio out of the way and Punk went flying over the top rope and to the floor hard. Booker T and Luke Gallows stare at one another as CM Punk gets to his feet slowly but Rey Mysterio comes flying over the top rope with a springboard plancha to the delight of the crowd who go nuts at what they just saw as the referee desperately tries to restore some order.

Cole:
What a match this has been so far and it looks as though Booker T has never been away from the ring. The chemistry that Mysterio and Booker are showing is unheard of. The Straight Edge Society could be in a bit of trouble here to say the least. What a move that was by Rey Mysterio, he surprises you in every single match he competes in.
King:
You’re not kidding, he is not a two-time World Heavyweight Champion for nothing, despite his size he is never one to complain or shy away from a fight and he so often comes out on top. And also, with Sharmell down here at ringside to stop Serena getting involved I honestly think Punk has underestimated his opponents for maybe the first time.
Mathews:
CM Punk is not one usually to underestimate his opponents, but you might be right King. For once he may just have done that. This match you sense though is far from done though at the moment. Booker T and Mysterio look great but something tells me CM Punk and Luke Gallows will have something left to say before this one is all over and done with.

The match continues with Rey Mysterio putting CM Punk back into the ring and looking to carry on building momentum for his team. He tags in Booker T after delivering a beautiful roll through dropkick to Punk’s face after he tried to hit a sunset flip on the Master of the 619. Booker comes in and clotheslines CM Punk twice and the speed has picked up once again. Booker continues to show his amazing athleticism and hits his trademark kick to the face while CM Punk’s arm is being held in the bent over position. Booker tags Mysterio in once more and the two hit a double flapjack before taunting to the crowd who go crazy for them. Rey Mysterio takes great pleasure in inflicting more punishment to his long-time rival CM Punk. Mysterio goes to the top rope and hits a beautiful dropkick which sends Punk into the turnbuckle and then he hits a running dropkick followed by the Bronco buster to the delight of the sold out Fatal 4 Way crowd. Mysterio tags Booker T in once again and he hammers away at the Straight Edge Superstar.

Booker stands to the side of Punk and hits a beautiful Russian leg sweep for a two count. He tosses Punk into the turnbuckle and connects with some brutal chops to the delight of the crowd. Booker T is feeling it and he now goes to the top rope but before he can do anything Serena is up on the apron and while the referee deals with her Luke Gallows pushes Booker T who loses his balance and lands hard in his midriff. As Booker can be seen struggling for air, Sharmell goes around to Serena and the two women start shouting at one another. Sharmell spears Serena to the ground and the two brawl at ringside before Gallows and Mysterio get the ladies to stop with the help of the referee and return to their respective areas of the ringside area. Back inside the ring CM Punk has regained some consciousness and joins Booker T at the top rope. He gets into position and there it is! A huge Superplex is delivered by CM Punk which shakes the ring. He crawls into the cover; 1… 2… Booker T just gets the shoulder up! Both men are down as the referee starts to count and Rey Mysterio and Luke Gallows want in the match desperately.

Mathews:
Both men are down, centre of the ring whoever makes the tag first here could well decide who goes onto win this match. What a Superplex that was from CM Punk to Booker T and what a brawl at ringside that was between Serena and Sharmell.
King:
The referee is really struggling to maintain order in this match and I am not surprised with all of these combustible elements. Booker T bringing Sharmell to the ring was a great idea to even the odds, but Serena has still had an influence and she has ultimately got her team back in this match.
Cole:
This could go either way, it has been back and forth from the get-go. And now with both men in the middle of the ring trying to make tags this could be the turning point. Look at Rey Mysterio he cannot wait to get in this ring and give Gallows some retribution for everything the Straight Edge Society has done to him in recent weeks.

Both men manage to make tags when the referee reaches a count of eight and Mysterio enters with explosive pace. He dropkicks Luke Gallows and then hits a springboard crossbody. He covers but once again can only get a two count. Mysterio continues to gain speed and momentum by hitting a huge enzuigiri before Rey kicks CM Punk off the apron to the delight of the crowd. Mysterio hits a drop toehold on Luke Gallows and he lands on the second rope in perfect position. Mysterio runs to hit the 619 and he connects but as he does CM Punk has made a blind tag. As Mysterio stands on the apron ready to deliver the seated Senton, Punk gets in the ring and catches Mysterio but in doing so he almost loses balance and Booker T makes a blind tag to the Master of the 619. CM Punk looks to deliver the Go To Sleep but Mysterio slides off and delivers a leg scissors takedown which ends up with Punk on the second rope. The crowd realises what is about to occur and go wild as Rey Mysterio runs and delivers a huge 619!

CM Punk staggers back as Serena gets on the apron. Sharmell pulls her leg off the apron and her head bounces off the apron as Booker T sees CM Punk in perfect position. Booker runs off the ropes and there it is! The Scissors Kick! Booker T covers CM Punk as Rey Mysterio dropkicks Luke Gallows off the apron as he just recovers in time; 1………… 2………… 3! Booker T has made a winning return and Rey Mysterio has gained some retribution against the Straight Edge Society.

Winners: Booker T & Rey Mysterio

Mathews:
Booker T has done it! He has made a winning return to the WWE and what a performance it was. It was a close match throughout but Booker and Mysterio exhilarated this crowd, just listen to them they are going crazy!
King:
You’re not kidding, Josh. Listen to this sold-out crowd in New York. Booker T is back and they love every second of it and look at the members of the Straight Edge Society. CM Punk looks angrier than ever before. Mysterio and Booker have got one over them here tonight!
Cole:
CM Punk, Luke Gallows and Serena have every right to be upset. What business did Sharmell have being out here and the referee lost all control of this match up. Saying that there is no denying that Rey Mysterio and Booker T made a formidable tag team here tonight and we may well see them again soon. What a match and we still have so much more to come!

Booker T and Rey Mysterio continue to celebrate in the ring after their victory. They both go onto separate turnbuckles and taunt as the crowd go wild and to top it all off Mysterio persuades Booker T to perform his trademark Spin-a-roonie. The crowd give a roar of approval once more before Booker and Mysterio leave the ring and the camera settles on the ringside announce team.

Mathews:
Well, it is now time for the main event on the SmackDown side of things everyone. It is the Fatal 4 Way Match for the World Heavyweight Championship between the champion Edge and the challengers, Chris Jericho, Dolph Ziggler and the Undertaker! This match has been highly anticipated by the WWE Universe and here is why.

A video montage is played in the arena and to everyone watch on pay-per-view highlighting the various twists and turns in this rivalry between the four superstars. It starts with Edge’s title win in a TLC match at Extreme Rules over former champion Chris Jericho. It then goes on to show Dolph Ziggler making an impact by repeatedly causing problems for the Undertaker. The video concludes with Undertaker fighting off Ziggler and Chris Jericho delivering the Code Breaker on Edge on the Cutting Edge this past Friday on SmackDown!

The video ends and ring announcer Tony Chimel introduces the challengers. First to enter is the Undertaker as the gong sounds and the crowd give him the biggest ovation of the night by far. He makes his methodical way to the ring slowly taking his hat off and his eyeballs vanishing.

The crowd then flips completely as the music of Chris Jericho hits. He arrogantly strides towards the ring and isn’t afraid to get inside even with the presence of the Undertaker. These two have stepped in the ring together on many occasions in the past. The next reaction is incredibly mixed with lots of the fans acknowledging the fact that Dolph Ziggler has tried to make a name for himself over the previous weeks. He enters and gets in the ring but is careful to stay as far away from the Deadman as possible. There is only one man left to enter.




Tony Chimel:
And their opponent, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada; weighing in at 241 pounds, he is the WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, the Rated R Superstar; EDGEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

The crowd erupts as the World Heavyweight Champion Edge makes his rock star like entrance. He sets off his huge pyro set and confidently slides into the ring before holding his championship aloft for the crowd to pop once again. Edge hands the title to referee Charles Robinson who holds it in the air to signify the championship being on the line. Robinson then calls for the bell and we are underway.

The match gets underway with Undertaker immediately going after Dolph Ziggler and Edge and Chris Jericho doing battle on the other side of the ring. Edge clotheslines Jericho outside the ring and continues to beat him down. He bounces his head off the announce table before driving him back first into the ring apron. Meanwhile, in the ring Undertaker has taken full control of Dolph Ziggler hitting some massive right hands before Snake Eyes and a huge boot to the face of the self-proclaimed athlete of perfection. Edge returns having tossed Jericho into the barricade wall and goes face-to-face with the Undertaker who has just thrown Ziggler over the top rope. The crowd go wild as they are about to see two of their favourite superstars go at it. Edge throws the first right hand, and the Undertaker responds with some even bigger ones. It isn’t long before the Deadman takes control and hits a huge sidewalk slam before going for the first pinfall of the night, but Jericho is back in the ring and breaks it up.

Jericho stomps away at The Phenom before delivering some chops to the chest but as he starts to get overly cocky, Undertaker turns the tables and tosses Jericho into the turnbuckle before exploding with punches on the self-centred former champion. Undertaker works on the arm of Chris Jericho before slowly ascending to the top rope and he is looking to deliver Old School but Dolph Ziggler hits a huge running dropkick out of nowhere which sends the Undertaker crashing to the floor as the crowd gasp in amazement at what they just saw. Before Ziggler can do anything else though Edge drives him right shoulder first into the ring post from inside the ring and then delivers a huge Electric Chair Drop. Edge is gaining momentum and he once again turns his attention to the man he won the World Heavyweight Championship from, Chris Jericho.

Edge hits a Russian Leg Sweep followed by stomping away at Jericho and then delivering a huge top rope crossbody. Edge goes for the pin, but Ziggler breaks it up with a leg drop from the top rope. It is now Dolph Ziggler’s turn to gain some momentum and he does so by delivering a standing dropkick to Chris Jericho followed by several his trademark elbows. As Edge recovers from the leg drop he just received, Ziggler continues to ensure that he dominates hitting his leg drop bulldog before going for the pinfall. Ziggler can only get a two count though. What Ziggler hasn’t seen is the Undertaker getting back in the ring and standing behind him signalling for the Chokeslam which has the crowd rising to their feet and cheeting loudly.

Mathews:
We know what is about to happen here. Watch out Dolph, the Undertaker is about to get some sweet revenge with the Chokeslam.
King:
If this connects it could be over. What a match thus far with no one out of these four superstars able to gain a true advantage. This could go to anyone. Will we have a new World Heavyweight Champion I wonder?
Cole:
This is a great match no doubt and if Undertaker connects with this it could well be that we have a new champion. Undertaker has him by the throat as the referee can do nothing and nobody else is about. The Deadman is about to win the World Title!

Undertaker lifts Ziggler up and there it is the huge Chokeslam connects. Undertaker covers; 1…… 2…… Chris Jericho kicks Taker’s head and breaks up the pin as a result. He then tosses Undertaker out of the ring before going for his own cover. 1…… 2…… Ziggler just gets the shoulder up in a frantic sequence. Jericho looks aggressive and ready to gain an advantage over Ziggler but as he turns around Edge runs at him and hits a clothesline. Jericho falls after another one before being tossed into the turnbuckle. Edge runs at him, but Jericho moves out of the way and hits a bulldog on Edge who staggers back and ends up flat on the canvas next to Ziggler in the centre of the ring. Jericho only has one thought in mind, and he leaps from the second rope looking to deliver the Lionsault. Jericho makes a huge impact on Edge, but Ziggler managed to roll out of the way to avoid it. Dolph hits an inverted body slam on the man who claims he is the best in the world at everything he does. Dolph Ziggler covers; 1…… 2…… Jericho gets the shoulder up.

Dolph quickly covers Edge who just took a Lionsault; 1…… 2…… Edge gets his shoulder up as well. Ziggler knows that this is his time to shine and he picks up Jericho once again hitting a beautiful fireman’s carry gutbuster which sends one of the challengers out of the ring and then Edge out of nowhere hits the Edge-O-Matic sitout rear mat slam to Dolph. Edge covers but he can only get a two count as well and shows his frustration. This match is now frantic with every man gaining momentum, that is until the Undertaker returns to the ring and all four men are once again up standing facing one another. Undertaker soon takes full control hitting brutal punches and big boots to all involved before hitting Snake Eyes and a big boot to Edge, a huge flying lariat like clothesline to Chris Jericho and then a beautiful running DDT to Ziggler.

Undertaker is on fire and he picks up Edge and twists his arm several times before going to the top rope, walking carefully along and there it is Old School from the Phenom. The crowd is electric as Undertaker clotheslines Ziggler out of the ring and sets up Jericho for a Chokeslam. Jericho sees it coming though and manages to get out of the grips of the Deadman before connecting with a huge Enzuigiri which echoes throughout the arena. Jericho covers Undertaker; 1…… 2…… Edge breaks up the pin attempt and immediately hits a huge Edgecution on Chris Jericho before going for his own pin attempt; 1…… 2…… This time Jericho kicks out as all three men are in the ring flat out and Ziggler is on the floor outside of the ring.

Cole:
What a match this has been. All four men are down, the current World Heavyweight Champion, Edge, Chris Jericho and the Undertaker in the ring and Dolph Ziggler on the outside. This match could go any way with all these superstars putting it all out there to try and capture the coveted gold.
King:
You’re not kidding Cole. Dolph Ziggler has looked amazing in this match, he is no doubt a main event player but equally Jericho, Edge and Undertaker could all win this thing! Also, some of the moves in this match have been brutal Josh.
Mathews:
They have King. Chris Jericho delivered a beautiful Lionsault only for Ziggler to roll out of the way and gain some momentum while Edge has hit some offense of his own on his arch-rival. All four men are down, which way is this one going to go? Who is walking out as the World Heavyweight Champion?

Dolph Ziggler slowly gets in the ring and once again all four men get slowly to their feet. Undertaker starts to hammer away at Jericho while Edge and Ziggler do battle on the other side of the ring. Undertaker delivers a back body drop to Edge who looked like he was going for a clothesline while Jericho delivers a beautiful Northern Lights Suplex bridge pin to Ziggler. Taker soon breaks up the pin and picks up Jericho for a sidewalk slam. It connects and Ziggler breaks up the pin. Undertaker gets up angrily and starts to berate Ziggler but out of nowhere Edge is back up and connects with a huge spinning wheel kick to Taker who is then hit with a dropkick from Dolph Ziggler and then the Code Breaker from Chris Jericho. It is madness trying to keep track of the action!

Undertaker is down but the impact of the moves and the position they all hit mean that the Phenom has ended up outside the ring. Jericho and Edge both see this while Ziggler is busy thinking about how he is going to capture his first ever World Heavyweight Championship. Chris Jericho doesn’t see what he has planned, and Dolph hits an awe-inspiring Zig Zag! Edge turns around to see this and throws Dolph Ziggler out of the ring before quickly pinning the fallen Jericho; 1………… 2………… 3! Edge pins Chris Jericho thanks to Dolph Ziggler delivering the Zig Zag and retains the World Heavyweight Championship! Just like that – the Ultimate Opportunist strikes and keeps hold of the gold.

Winner: Edge (STILL World Heavyweight Champion)

King:
Edge has done it. Edge has pinned arch nemesis Chris Jericho and is still the World Heavyweight Champion. Dolph Ziggler has one hell of a future here in the WWE though, there is no doubting that after his performance, had it been an ordinary match he would have won but the Fatal 4 Way rules came into play.
Cole:
Ziggler put on a clinic here tonight, but the Ultimate Opportunist has done it once again. The Rated R Superstar, Edge always finds a way to win, and tonight was no different. Edge is still the World Heavyweight Champion and I don’t think Undertaker and especially Dolph Ziggler can quite believe it.
Mathews:
Well, they better start believing it that is for sure because the era of Edge’s tenth World Heavyweight Championship is still occurring. I cannot wait for all the Fatal 4 Way fallout this Friday on SmackDown but will Edge even be a SmackDown superstar?

Edge’s music hits as he celebrates an incredible victory. He ascends to the turnbuckle as Chris Jericho rolls out of the ring looking angrier than ever because he has lost once again. Edge slowly makes his way up the ramp before holding the World Heavyweight Championship belt aloft while on his knees in an iconic image. Edge has retained the World Title against three other superstars against all the odds as the screen fades and a video promoting the new look draft plays.

The video shows that for the next four episodes of RAW and SmackDown before the Money in the Bank pay per view on each show there will be two draft picks. So, starting tomorrow night on RAW two superstars from SmackDown will be drafted to the Monday night brand and this will continue for the next four weeks.

The video culminates in the voice over man saying, “Who will be drafted with every single WWE Superstar and DIVA eligible?” The camera then cuts back to ringside to Michael Cole, Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Josh Mathews who hype the draft as we get ready for the main event of the evening.

Cole:
Well, what a month it promises to be with every superstar eligible for draft. We could see the WWE and World Heavyweight Champion on the same show, who knows what is going to happen, I cannot wait!
King:
The next month promises to be bigger than ever and with the Money in the Bank pay-per-view after the draft, it is going to be an exciting time of year. But we are forgetting one thing, tonight isn’t over yet, what is going to happen in our main event for the WWE Championship?
Mathews:
Indeed, that is our main event. It sees the WWE Champion, John Cena taking on Triple H, Sheamus and the Animal, Batista. Let’s look at what has happened throughout this past month leading up to this monumental title match tonight.

A video montage plays showing various moments where all four of these superstars have had good weeks on Monday Night RAW, there is also the theme of RAW General Manager, Vickie Guerrero wanting Cena out of the WWE Championship picture running through the video. The video ends with a close up of Sheamus shouting “It’s my time fellas” as the camera cuts back to ringside and the music of Triple H hits the PA system. The Game makes his usual momentous entrance with black wrestling trunks and water spitting.

The mood then changes as Batista enters with the single spotlight and the crowd boo him heavily. Triple H smirks at Batista disapprovingly thinking of Evolution and how Batista left the great stable. The first ever Irish born WWE Champion, Sheamus enters next, and he gets incredible heat from the crowd. He takes it in his stride as always though and just stares straight through Triple H.

The final man to enter is the WWE Champion himself. John Cena enters to a great ovation and not many boos at all. Cena is clearly supported here tonight over Sheamus and Batista. He wastes no time in entering the ring and handing over his WWE Championship belt as senior official, Mike Chioda rings the bell, and the WWE Championship Fatal 4 Way main event is underway.

The match gets underway with John Cena and Batista going straight after one another and Triple H clotheslining Sheamus straight out of the ring. The Game rolls out of the ring and mounts the Irishman before hammering away repeatedly as the crowd go nuts. Meanwhile, in the ring Batista overpowers John Cena which doesn’t happen often at all. He picks him up and places him in the corner before delivering several shoulder thrusts and then hitting a beautiful running powerslam. Batista goes for the pin, but Cena easily kicks out. Back outside of the ring, Triple H is inflicting more punishment on Sheamus whacking his head against the ring post before bouncing it off the announce table. The Game Irish whips the Celtic Warrior into the steel steps and the sound of flesh on metal echoes throughout the arena. The Cerebral Assassin returns to the ring where Batista has just thrown John Cena outside of the ring. Triple H and Batista are alone and staredown one another to the delight of the crowd.

The two former Evolution superstars hate the guts of one another, and they immediately start throwing right hands. Triple H Irish whips Batista and delivers a brutal high knee before delivering his classic taunt to rapturous applause from the sold out Fatal 4 Way crowd. Before Triple H can continue to work on the Animal, John Cena returns to the ring and delivers a bulldog to him instead. Cena ascends to the top rope looking for his signature leg drop to the back of the head. Cena is about to jump but Sheamus gets on the apron and shoves him off the top rope and to the floor outside of the ring. Sheamus propels himself over the top rope and into Triple H with his trademark battering ram manoeuvre. Sheamus continues to work on Triple H connecting with high impact knees to the head and then a nice knee to the sternum of the multiple time WWE Champion. Sheamus has forgotten about Batista though and the Animal makes a huge impact with a Spear before going for the pin attempt; 1…… 2…… Sheamus barely gets the shoulder up!

Mathews:
What a back-and-forth affair this has been thus far. All four men have had their moments but right now it is the Animal, Batista. He wants nothing more but to regain his WWE Championship and if he continues in this vane, it may be a matter of time.
Cole:
Batista and Sheamus have looked dominant. Cena took that huge fall from the top rope and hasn’t recovered and apart from a flurry of offense by the Game at the start of the match we have barely seen him since.
King:
That may be so, but you cannot discount either Triple H or the current WWE Champion, John Cena. How many times over both of their careers have we seen them come back from these sorts of position ending up victorious?

The match continues with Batista on top as Triple H returns to the fray. Batista soon dominates his former friend though delivering a Jackhammer suplex. The Animal pins but John Cena breaks it up. Cena starts to throw huge right hands at Batista and they eventually fall out of the ring and to the floor nearest to the announce tables. Cena clotheslines Batista before throwing the cover off the announce table to the floor. Cena then plants Batista’s head multiple times on the ring apron before hoisting him up on his shoulders clearly thinking about delivering the Attitude Adjustment through the announce table. However, as Cena looks like he is going to connect, Batista rolls off the shoulders and sets up his nemesis for the Batista Bomb instead. However, Batista is pulled off Cena by Triple H who delivers a thunderous spinebuster which sends him through the announce table as the crowd go wild.

They begin to chant “Holy Shit” and “This is Awesome” and the announce team hype the spot and show multiple replays of the high impact move. John Cena slowly rolls back into the ring as Batista is flat out and Triple H is struggling after delivering the devastating move. Sheamus wastes no time and connects with a huge Irish Curse backbreaker to the current WWE Champion. Sheamus covers; 1…… 2…… Cena gets the shoulder up. Sheamus berates the referee but is quick to continue to try and build on his momentum and now lifts Cena up for a backdrop. Before he can gain any more momentum though, Triple H is back and he starts to hammer away at Sheamus connecting with his knee smash followed by locking in a beautiful Figure Four Leg Lock. Sheamus looks as though he could well tap out but somehow Batista is back in the ring and breaks up the count. The former WWE Champion hammers away at Triple H and looks dominant once more when he plants him with a spinebuster pf hid own. He shakes the ropes and is getting ready to deliver a Batista Bomb.

Cole:
If Batista connects with this, we will crown a new WWE Champion, no doubt about it. Batista had somehow recovered from going through the announce table, how on earth does the Animal do it? Batista is about to become WWE Champion once again.
King:
I am afraid you might be right Cole, come on Cena get up. This could still be won by any one of these four, but it is looking like Batista right now. Come on Cena, come on Triple H!
Mathews:
Oh no. Here we go; Batista has him in position…

Batista has Triple H between his legs ready to deliver the Batista Bomb. Triple H punches Batista in the head to try and get out of the predicament but it doesn’t have the desired effect and he is planted! Before the Animal can even think about a pinfall attempt though, Sheamus runs at him and delivers a monstrous Brogue Kick to the skull! Sheamus goes for the pin but John Cena grabs the Celtic Warrior and throws him into the ring post shoulder first which sends the first ever Irish born WWE Champion outside of the ring and to the floor below. John Cena realises he is the only man standing and quickly locks in the STF onto Triple H as Batista and Sheamus are outside of the ring. Triple H holds on for a long while and Batista eventually comes in but before he can break the hold Cena sees him coming and in one sweeping movement decimates his adversary with the Attitude Adjustment. John Cena covers Batista; 1…………… 2…………… 3! John Cena pins Batista and retains the WWE Championship in a humdinger of a Fatal 4 Way main event.

Winner: John Cena (STILL WWE Champion)

Cole:
He did it, he did it! John Cena came back and somehow retained the WWE Championship against all the odds. It looked like Sheamus was going to be victorious and then Triple H before Batista delivered the Batista Bomb, but it was John Cena hitting the Attitude Adjustment which made all the difference.
Mathews:
What an unbelievable win and somehow John Cena is still the WWE Champion against all the odds. He does it so often that we shouldn’t be shocked but in a Fatal 4 Way match the odds of the champion retaining are so low that nobody gave Cena a big chance. What a night it has been with champions really proving their worth in these Fatal 4 Way matches.
King:
Oh, watch out guys!

As John Cena is celebrating with his WWE Championship, he turns around to taunt the other side of the ring and Sheamus has returned from the outside. Sheamus delivers a huge Brogue Kick to the skull of the WWE Champion, before leaving the arena looking incredibly angry when Vickie Guerrero slowly comes through the curtain to enormous heat from the sold out Fatal 4 Way crowd.

RAW General Manager - Vickie Guerrero:
Congratulations John, great win. However, don’t be leaving as this night is not over just yet. In fact, we have one more match tonight.




JACK SWAGGER Swagger runs down the entrance ramp with a referee and his Money in the Bank briefcase! The referee rings the bell as Justin Roberts announces that the following contest is for the WWE Championship! Swagger immediately picks up the lifeless body of John Cena after he was Brogue Kicked by Sheamus and he connects with a devastating Gutwrench Powerbomb. Jack Swagger immediately covers the WWE Champion; 1………………… 2…………………… 3! Jack Swagger has cashed in his Money in the Bank contract which he earned at WrestleMania and thanks to Sheamus he has defeated John Cena to become the NEW WWE Champion!

Winner: Jack Swagger (NEW WWE Champion)

Cole:
Oh my, oh my god! Jack Swagger has just cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and become the new WWE Champion. Cena just competed in a gruelling Fatal 4 Way match but Vickie Guerrero in my eyes just screwed over the champion. Swagger is the new WWE Champion.
King:
What a travesty, Cena shouldn’t have to compete in a match after that Fatal 4 Way match, how in the world can these be fair? Vickie Guerrero should be suspended and as for Jack Swagger, well he just stole the WWE Championship.
Mathews:
But King the Money in the Bank contract allows the winner to have a priceless opportunity at winning the WWE Championship; you should know that by now. Jack Swagger chose the perfect moment, and he is the new WWE Champion. What a night it has been, goodnight, everyone!

Fatal 4 Way ends with Jack Swagger celebrating in the ring with the WWE Championship belt and the camera cutting to John Cena looking perplexed, angry and exhausted just outside the ring. Vickie Guerrero is on the top of the ramp smirking as the crowd voice their disapproval for what they just saw. Jack Swagger taunts on every turnbuckle and gets enormous heat from all of the crowd as the copyright logo comes up on the screen before it completely fades, and Fatal 4 Way comes to a close.
