WWE issued the following on their main headlines section today: LAS VEGAS - In a stunning upset, Brock Lesnar became the first man to capture both the WWE Championship and the UFC Heavyweight Championship when he defeated UFC fan favorite Randy “The Naturalâ€￾ Couture on Saturday night in Sin City. Lesnar, dubbed “The Next Big Thingâ€￾ upon his arrival in WWE, earned the moniker and his first WWE Championship in 2002 after besting The Rock at SummerSlam. Thanks in large part to the backing of the WWE Universe, the former college wrestling phenomenon went on to regain the title twice, both times against Kurt Angle, once at WrestleMania in 2003 and then six months later on SmackDown. For Lesnar, the road to UFC gold proved surprisingly short. Within roughly six months, the former WWE Superstar climbed to the top of the ultimate fighting heap, capping his ascent with the upset victory over Couture. Critics have noted that many of the fights on the UFC pay-per-view ended in the first round, leaving UFC producers scrambling to fill the three-hour event with content. The dearth of hearty competition left many viewers to watch less prestigious under-card fights and only served to bolster claims that UFC pay-per-view events can often be a “crap shootâ€￾ in regards to filling the full three hours. For his part, Lesnar took the encouragment of the WWE Universe and the hard lessons forged during his fiery time at WWE and showed UFC and the world why he is not only a man of mettle but also a former three-time WWE Champion.

This is no shot at all. In fact, it's true. The whole undercard w/ the exception of Florian is jobberville. The whole thing was basically all about Lesnar/Couture.

They're more or less saying that with the UFC you'll never get your money's worth and that you're better off buying a WWE show because you know you're guaranteed the full show run time.

Which is a backhanded shot at the UFC in an article praising Brock. Its just more petty Vince shit.

Oh and one last thing, I guess Vince forgot about December to Dismember. Because that totally went the full run time.

Holy hell in a handbasket, a QUADRUPLE post. O_O But anyway, thank you, MS. I was racking my brain trying to figure out why people couldn't see the shot.

^Because it's hardly a "big shot".
And I guess, really, as wrong as it is, everything you post comes across to me as you trying to point out wwe things to make them look bad, which you even admit you do.
I still don't see a shot, lol.

^ Have I ever posted original content in this section? No. Everything I post here is from news sites or company websites, unaltered, with MY views being put below the dashes. It may not seem like a shot in your opinion, but it obviously is to other people. What do you think, I spend my days trying to put negative spins on everything the WWE does? Sorry, I'm not as immature as you, triple-neg-repping me with "cunt" as the reason for daring to voice a differing opinion. Why don't you try actually reading what I have to say and what information I post here rather than disregarding everything simply because it's me doing the posting? Grow up.

Oh, and by the way...

Less than 24 hours after posting it, WWE has removed their congratulatory note on WWE.com regarding Brock Lesnar’s UFC Heavyweight Championship win, along with the following cheap shot at the company: “Critics have noted that many of the fights on the UFC pay-per-view ended in the first round, leaving UFC producers scrambling to fill the three-hour event with content. The dearth of hearty competition left many viewers to watch less prestigious under-card fights and only served to bolster claims that UFC pay-per-view events can often be a “crap shoot” in regards to filling the full three hours.” This definitely came off as a weak shot at UFC. UFC, like boxing before it, is a real athletic competition where some fights will end quickly, and others will go the distance.

Don't act like I'm the only one saying what I say, and try actually listening to me impartially. Try being mature, it'll do wonders for people's respect for you.

The whole reason ANYONE watches wrestling is because we are GUARANTEED ENTERTAINMENT. I can watch MMA, because SOMETIMES it is exciting, but most of the time it is boring. I find all other sports boring to watch as well, so i watch wrestling. I get the simulated realism of a sport (thus making me a man....that is sarcasm btw) but I'm guaranteed entertainment. And pretty much I do agree with Vince in a way. The only PPV I will buy is Wrestlemania (or maybe one of the other big 4). Because I know it will go the full show time and something big will most likely happen. I'm not spending $45 to see one fight that has been hyped to hell and back and only lasts 10 seconds. It's a much better investment to watch WWE....you get more for your money.
