I can only assume it's a sponsors/shareholders thing. Otherwise it would just have to be some weird Vince fixation but he bladed a few times himself so

Their sponsors is the only reason, but I don't see why the sponsors care about PPVs and I don't think they do. They put their money on Raw and SmackDown.

I would think shareholders would actually be more important. They're beholden to their shareholders and are obligated to act in their best interests. If there's a belief that it could bring unwanted controversy (unfounded as that may be) they would wanna avoid it.

That's possible, but I'm sure if Vince cared enough he'd explain they went public when they did blood and made those shareholders plenty of money.
