No, not the guy but he was definitely hella prominent. Often times cutting the show opening promo and what have you.

IDK, it didn't seem that way to me a year after he was champion. He'd occasionally be thrust back up top, but when he wasn't, he was back in the mid treated like everyone else to me. If you're gonna compare him to Kurt and Brock, who I'd say were always treated like top guys even when they weren't holding the belt. Especially after 2012, if that's the time frame you gave? For the last 8 years he's definitely not been treated like a top guy. Which is why I'm saying it's hard to remember him like you would Angle or Brock or even Rock.

I don't disagree with any part of this All I was saying is he was still what I would classify as a main eventer for a couple years after his first title win.
