But I could see it also. Wrestlers in this era, 1997-2002 especially, were just on a different fucking level altogether. Especially when you're talking about the American mainstream.

That's what I mean. There's a reason I always flock to that time period. This is what made me a wrestling fan.

But there are plenty of guys now who still approach things like this. Bryan, Styles, Omega, FTR, Callihan, Cody, Sheamus, Gresham, for some examples. I think it's just a matter of who really takes this shit seriously and sets out to have a great match every time they're out there. Instead of phoning it in and just getting their shit in.

I don't think the talent today couldn't do this, either. Most just don't. Because they prefer to do that Young Bucks style of flips, overselling, false finishes stuff.

There are always some exceptions, but far more don't. Most of these guys are my current favorites for this reason, though.

That's small touch most wouldn't add to the match, but it adds so much. Splash the arm and not the body because he's been working on it all match. What a goddamn great match, guys.
