This PPV is going to suck like 90% of them do these days. I feel like they only try to put in the effort for Summerslam, Wrestlemania, and Royal Rumble and even then... It is questionable as to how much effort.

I... can't believe they're doing this. No way, no how.
I'm about to be the white knight here. I'm about to defend WWE. No freaking way.

Honestly their PPV efforts this year haven't been that bad. Granted that's because they had cheat codes in the gimmick matches to carry them for the most part, but they booked their way into a freaking great Elimination Chamber match, a solid Wrestlemania, a well-done Royal Rumble and watched the talent carry MITB.

The rise of Becky and Kofi helped those shows out tremendously, so was watching Bayley get elevated, Balor's competitive loss, Asuka's rise to the top (LOL) and Seth's overdue title win. There's been good stuff on PPV this year... if you forget Super Shit-Show happened last month. Or that they have weekly TV that didn't contribute a damn thing to the shows (Honestly if you missed everything outside of Kofi's gauntlet match and not even read results, wouldn't this all play out the same? Maybe see some of the build for the women's match?)

However this show... Oh boy, this show... This reminds me of one of those Capitol Punishment type shows, where everything felt so impossibly stale in pre-Pipebomb 2011 (back when R-Truth was the most entertaining thing on TV, those were the days, eh?)... So in honor of wwe.com asking a poll of "How interested are you in each match?"...lets do this.

Bayley vs Alexa Bliss: Interest level: None. Again for the 2011 comparisons, I knew someone on the Raw brand wasn't winning a Smackdown title, so that makes the outcome feel predictable. This was the worst feud of the year in 2017 by 10 miles (yeah, worse than anything Bray Wyatt did that year) and after re-heating Bayley this was the last place you needed to go. Maybe putting some demons from the past aside wouldn't be the worst thing for the girl, but after the last two years of Alexa Bliss PPV matches this has bathroom break written all over it. And we've seen this match before. And it sucked.

Roman Reigns vs Drew McIntyre: Interest level: None. So let me get this straight. Elias was announced as the biggest acquisition in Smackdown history as a troll, and Roman got mad and came over and punched Vince out of spite for not getting that honor (when obviously the point was to show how Roman was the biggest, but set up this angle in the process) and it's one of those angles that doesn't get over whatsoever because it's so unbelievable and see-through, and now it's being featured to the point where not only did they push aside Miz's legitimate beef and understandable heartfelt daddy issues, but are giving these two more mic time than EVERY SINGLE PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING MATCH COMBINED. Now Roman wants Drew as revenge for him not being able to beat up Shane, when Shane just wants revenge for Roman punching Vince and... There's too many gaps here and not one person gives enough of a shit to read this far. Not one person. Get Shane McMahon off my TV. Roman for IWGP Intercontinental Champion. And we've seen this match before. And it sucked.

Becky Lynch vs Lacey Evans: Interest level: None. There's just not enough to work with here. It reminds me of Bayley's NXT title win should have fallen flat, but they found enough things in the minor characters (Eva Marie, Alexa Bliss, Carmella) to give us reasons to keep getting behind the underdog babyface. Now Becky's at the top of the mountain trying to talk shit to a girl that's done nothing as a wrestler, and Lacey was called up too soon and has won one match on the main roster, I think? Maybe two? And she's going up against the girl who beat Ronda? And we've seen this match before. And it sucked.

Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin: Interest level: None. It's crazy how Becky Lynch was built up so well but is floundering because there's nobody on the roster at her level (as I sit here drinking a carton of milk with Asuka's face on it) besides the stale Charlotte, lets cut to Seth Rollins over here looking at the barren wasteland of credibility we call the most talented roster in the world. There's one heel on this show with any heat or credibility and he's in tag team duty against Heavy Machinery. So, lets call on Rollins to carry people for a while, I guess? And we've seen this match before. And it sucked.

Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler: Interest level: Some. I loved Kofimania as much as the next guy (even as Vince was making the angle pretty illogical, Chamber/the gauntlet/Wrestlemania were great), but it's still Kofi Kingston. Dude's still 1-3 against Ziggler on PPV over his career. Dude's still a career midcarder that saw his chance at glory and rose to the occasion like an MF'er, and it helps us be invested when he wins because he could still lose at any moment, theoretically. Ziggler's largely in the same boat, and seeing these two together in the main event does kind of remind you of why we all got behind Kofi to begin with. This meme matchup from 2010 when they wrestled 80+ times has come full circle. And we've seen this match before. And it was fine.

The main selling point for the show would be if they have some fun with Bryan/Rowan and HM this week on SD. If they make that feud fun...

I'll admit they did do smart moves but smart moves inconsistently laced with horrible decisions never equate good entertainment.

Stick to one damn narrative and maybe fans will get more interested and invested again.

Speaking of this event...

Why is the company even booking Bayley vs. Bliss again?

Don't they remember the matches those two have had on pay per view?

Those Payback & Extreme Rules matches were fucking cringe...
& not just because Bliss won them easily...but because that were
horrible wrestling matches.

Look if Bliss is going to put Bayley over...then good...its been a
long time coming...but if Bliss goes over...Bayley may as well
quit wrestling & go become a teacher or a kid's show host.

I'd go one further. They did smart moves, but in the last 3 weeks i saw one show that had some great wrestling from wrestlers that made you say "That was cool!" even in losing efforts. I saw an upstart company flaunt top-notch talent and try to do what WWE does well without doing away with credibility. I saw a Japanese promotion debut 2 new massive stars from other companies by throwing them in what's legitimately built up to be the biggest pro wrestling tournament in the world.

After Double or Nothing, Takeover 25, and Dominion, WWE is giving us the Saudi show and Stomping Ground.

In reference to 90 percent of ppvs suck...
Rumble was a good PPV
Elimination chamber was a good PPV
Fast lane was satisfactory
Wrestlemania was decent
MITB was fun
Showdown was boring.

Only one bad PPV this year so far. Unless you think mitb was bad.

I feel like stomping ground could be terrible. The matches dont look great. No match with top level guys like seth vs aj. Roman vs drew is the most quality matchup and there previous encounter was boring.

Bayley vs Alexa could be a great story if they had competent writers and knew how to tell a simple story. Bayley and Qlexa are complete opposites and there so much story that can be told. Too bad it wont be told and Alexa cant deliver in the ring. The only way Alex's is going to pull of a great match is to have a story. She has no hope as she is probably the most inconsistent and stupid character on the main roster.

Now Roman wants Drew as revenge for him not being able to beat up Shane, when Shane just wants revenge for Roman punching Vince and... You also have Shane being delusional and thinking hes actually the best in the world. Him having a win over the legitimate best in the world is a fine idea. There is a good story to be told here. Too bad the execution has been absolutely devastating.

This meme matchup from 2010 when they wrestled 80+ times has come full circle. And we've seen this match before. And it was
They should just have a normal 20 minute match and tear the house down. But no they have to add bullshit to it. Great story on paper but yet again execution is terrible. Kofi didn't even care that woods cheated for him. Thought he was an honorable guy. Hope Ziggler wins.

Evan's vs Becky is a terrible feud. Becky is no longer a star. I blame Lacey. She needed a big feud after mania. She needed Asuka. Lacey is just garbage.

Corbyn vs seth could be good. They have wrestled alot and could but on a really good match. But the feud is such a lost cause it has no hope. The special guest referee element is slightly interesting. If it turns out to be brock then hes taking the trolling thing way to far.

Of course if we get tag title matches then they are sure to be fun like always. Too bad they wont get any time.

Joe vs Braun vs Lashley vs Ricochet vs cesaro vs Miz should be booked. Now that could be a match worth seeing. Miz vs Joe is the natural feud for summerslam.

The whole story of Shane being a delusional fuckwit who won a Best in the World tournament because one of the participants got hurt before he booked himself into the finals and won because the other GM distracted his own wrestler is...actually pretty funny when you type it out that way, and makes as much sense as him doing that and beating Roman Reigns because Mcintyre interfered a bajillion times and Shane pinned him off a Claymore...

Gloat all he wants, if it wasn't for gross overexposure it would have enough meme value. But in the end, in storyline, he's still a 50 year old executive that gets blown up by walking to the ring and grabbing a mic.

I've been trying to fantasy book an endgame to this, but the only thing I can think of is "go back in time and just let Miz win"

I think this wouldn't be as bad if they just did two segments on raw every week dedicated to it. Instead of having 3 segments minimum for both raw and smackdown dedicated to it.

Shane vs Roman's at extreme rules in an extreme rules match. That's where I think it's going. Drew could win at stomping ground and go up the card to face Seth. But unlikely that Roman will lose two ppvs in a row

Oh and let’s not forget the possible MITB cash-in! The threat of Brock showing up to take the title must be a good reason to watch this show right? /end sarcasm.

That fact Broke Le$nar has the MitB briefcase to begin with is an incredibly unfunny joke that pisses me off.

Can Broke cash in on the Universal &/or the WWE title?

Knowing the WWE Corbin will win the Universal title & then stand around in the ring once Le$nar appears
& allow the cash in to happen (instead of grabbing the belt & running like fuck away from ring AKA "the
CM Punk Tactic"), get suplexed 10 tens followed by an F5 so Broke can again claim the Universal title &
make everything that has happened since Wrestlemania 35 completely & utterly fucking pointless.

Because the WWE hates us all & doesn't give a fuck what we want or think.

Where is Corbin going to go? It's a contained space. Punk was peoples champ. Out the crowd you go. Corbin would be fucked if Lesnar cashed in on him.
