- WWE has confirmed that the Ryback vs. CM Punk WWE Title match will still be taking place, likely on an upcoming episode of RAW since Punk's next pay-per-view match will be against The Rock at the Royal Rumble.

Punk is expected to be ready for the New Year's Eve edition of RAW, which will be taped a few days earlier in Washington, DC. Still, WWE may not put Ryback vs. Punk on that show because it's guaranteed to do a low rating. The match may take place on the January 7th RAW, which goes head-to-head with the BCS Championship game. The January 14th RAW is possible but that may be too close to the Royal Rumble for Ryback to get his title shot. Either way, the match is scheduled to take place soon.

WWE should've used this opportunity not to make the match because they always struggle to come up with a finish, but let's see how it goes.

The Rock will have some part to play in that match. I wonder if he'll cost Ryback the title, so that he can face Punk at the Rumble.

I wonder how this one will end? I mean, Ryback failing to capture the belt three times in a row is gonna make people more and more stop caring. I predict he'll get screwed without there being a full length match (maybe Punk gets himself DQed as soon as the bell rings?) so that a one-on-one match would feel fresher between them, should it happen at Wrestlemania. (Ryback would go on to win the Rumble after getting screwed out of this match.)

I'm still waiting for Undertaker, the Rock and Brock to make their appearances.
I wonder how they will incorporate them into basic story lines...

I thought that I read that Punk was going to wrestle at the PPV? I guess tomorrow night we will find out for sure.

He wants to wrestle at TLC, reports say he is ready....
But they don't want to take the risk of making him step in the ring after the surgery...

Rumor on when Ryback is getting his title match

As noted, WWE officials are still planning on doing Ryback vs. CM Punk for the WWE Title. In an update, that match is currently scheduled for the January 14th RAW from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. WWE will be celebrating RAW's 20 anniversary that night so they are giving Ryback vs. Punk a big stage.

Raw's 20th anniversary huh. Very nice. Looking forward to what ending they're going to come up with.
