WWE Wrestling Superstar Assaulted At Smithfield Bar

A WWE wresting superstar was assaulted at a Johnston County club early Tuesday morning. Gregory Shane Helms, 33, of Smithfield, a wrestler with World Wrestling Entertainment, who goes by the name of Gregory Helms and the Hurricane, was reportedly assaulted by an acquaintance while at the N&N Sports Bar on South Equity Drive in Smithfield around 1:10am. Smithfield Police were summoned to the business after an altercation between Helms and Dustin Curtis Narron, 29, of Selma, according to Police Detective Lt. Keith Powell. Narron is accused of slapping Helms following an altercation. Helms obtained a warrant for assault on Narron, which police served about an hour later. Narron was released on $500 bail pending his court appearance on the charges. Helms is a popular wrestler among WWE fans, and was the longest reigning Cruiserweight Champion in the history of the Connecticut based company.

Gregory Helms is probably the most pushed Cruiserweight since Rey Mysterio. What is he doing messing it all up getting into fights at bars instead of rehabbing his neck.

there is no reason to stop him going to a bar, pretty much every picture of him since injury is of him wearing a neckbrace. Do you people expect him to do rehab at night.

The allturcation is the stupid part the slightest knock could set him back weeks. Probably why he got a warrant out on him for a little slap.

Since when is eh "popular"? lol... I dont remember anyone giving a damn about him, but I guess its just a thing to type. Anyways, doesnt sound like much but maybe we'll get more details... Anyone know when hes supposed to return?

Its not that big a deal, it was stupid of Helms to get into an altercation because of his neck, but it doesnt matter we all know when he finally comes back he'll debut on ECW, look dominant for a few weeks, then he'll miss a few shows, get demoted to a jobber, then get released
