* Cody Rhodes b. Booker T to retain the Intercontinental Championship. The match went on for a long time and ended with Rhodes hitting the Beautiful Disaster kick for the pin.

* Cody Rhodes and Goldust are backstage after Cody’s match. Cody says to Goldust that he has already surpassed him and he will be greater than Dusty Rhodes someday.

* Zack Ryder is in Teddy Long‘s office. Ryder said that he’s busy now that he is the United States Champion, so it may be a good idea for Long to find a new Assistant General Manager on Smackdown. Drew McIntyre enters, but is not offered the position.

Santino Marella enters and reminds Long that McIntyre was supposed to be fired due to last week’s loss. This sets up Santino vs. McIntyre for tonight, and if Santino wins, he is the new Assistant to the General Manager. If McIntyre wins, he likely won’t be fired. The segment ends with Aksana entering the office.

* There is a short backstage segment with AJ and Alicia Fox. Daniel Bryan enters and discusses tonight’s match against The Big Show with AJ.

* Hornswoggle b. Heath Slater in an Over-the-Top-Rope Challenge. Slater almost slammed Hornswoggle over the top rope, but Hornswoggle grabbed his hair to reverse it and win. Slater got mad and attacked Hornswoggle after the match. Justin Gabriel ran down to save Hornswoggle.

* Hunico b. Ted DiBiase

* Wade Barrett cuts a promo about the Barrett Barrage. He tells the crowd that after his injury, Randy Orton will be watching from home as Barrett wins the Royal Rumble later this month. Sheamus interrupts. They both talk themselves up, but Jinder Mahal interrupts both of them. Barrett leaves the ring and Mahal turns his attention to Sheamus. Mahal slaps Sheamus, leading to a brawl. Barrett rushes back to the ring to join the assault on Sheamus. The brawl ends with Mahal locking the Camel Clutch on Sheamus.

* Santino Marella b. Drew McIntyre. Santino is then appointed the new Assistant to the General Manager of Smackdown.

* Drew McIntyre is back in Teddy Long‘s office asking for another chance. Long says that tonight was strike 2 for Drew, and next week might be strike 3.

* Primo & Epico b. Air Boom in a non-title match. Rosa Mendes accompanied Primo & Epico to the ring. Epico picked up the win after Evan Bourne failed to hit Air Bourne.

* Sheamus vs. Jinder Mahal is official for next week’s Smackdown.

* Tamina b. Natalya

* Daniel Bryan b. The Big Show by disqualification to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Mark Henry was on commentary for the match. During the match, Bryan went over to taunt Henry, who pushed Bryan, causing the DQ. Bryan celebrated with his title on the ramp to end the show.

- Cody retains in what looks like a great opening match. I love how he said he will be greater then his father, I believe strongly the feud will happen between Cody/Goldust.

- Forgot Ryder was an assistant, Drew enters and isn't offered... Oh well.

- Santino had to remind Teddy... What are they doing with McIntyre seriously.

- Slater being buried losing to Hornswoggle and it looks like we'll see another mini-feud with Slater/Gabriel once again. This is embarrasing...

- Jinder is finally getting a bit of a push, did someone read my rant or something? I like how he ended on top using the Cobra Clutch on Sheamus

- Santino beats Drew and is the new assistant... Here's to comedy. But McIntyre rants backstage and next week could be strike three... If McIntyre loses he's gone? I'd be pissed off in all honesty if McIntyre continues to be buried. This is a disgrace!

- Funny how Epico/Primo wins on RAW or SD but loses on Superstars (Yeah, nobody watches Superstars). They're going to win the belt tbh.

- Sheamus/Jinder. I'd much, much rather Jinder going on top here because it will just boost him up because Sheamus is already up there.

- Tamina/Natalya... Probably went for what? 2 minutes? Natalya seems to be buried since aligning with Beth.

- Bryan retains, there's no way a title will change on the show... Last time it happened it was Orton/Christian. So we're looking at Henry/Show/Bryan... If Bryan wins that match then he'd be very over for being two giants.

Looks like a Smackdown I could miss, nothing strong here really.

This looks like a disappointing show but will give it a watch anyways. I have a feeling McIntyre is gonna win his match next week then go on a winning streak for a bit but that's just my opinion. I'm actually suprised Ezekiel Jackson wasn't booked, he has become the top bodybuilder on Smackdown so I'm suprised by this. Ted DiBiase was on a winning streak now he has had a couple loses in a row, what happened? Primo and Epico are becoming a powerful force in the tag division and very quickly, I have a feeling they will collect the belts from Air Boom very, very soon. Sheamus vs Jinder Mahal should be interesting, I think Sheamus will win in the end though, I just can't see him lose to Mahal in that match. Daniel Bryan probably did that from fear, he feared he was gonna lose his title to Big Show so he aggravated Mark Henry to get him DQ'ed.

It's weird how DiBiase Jr was pushed and now Mahal's getting it. I'd much like to see Mahal beat Sheamus after all it won't hurt Sheamus at all.

Show is fair disappointing and Zeke, he'd probs face McIntyre next week with McIntyre doing the upset. (Remember, Zeke won via Roll Up)

It wouldn't hurt Sheamus? Yes, it really would, a loss from Jinder Mahal would be terrible since Mahal hasn't done very much except for lose alot of mid/low card matches.

I think Zeke vs McIntyre would be good and I don't see McIntyre getting fired anytime soon, he's too young and he's in his prime.

Sheamus having a sudden lost wouldn't hurt him, after all he can go on to win the Rumble.

Mahal could be pushed if they want to do it properly they'd have him beat Sheamus.

Rhodes beat Bryan when he was MITB so... I don't see why not.

This looks like a show I'll miss but Barrett/Sheamus feud maybe? That I'd like to see.

They've stated Barrett/Sheamus will feud seeing Orton isn't around for the time being.

At house shows they've had Sheamus vs Barrett in Street Fights over the past week.

Not a big Smackdown and seems like one I can miss, I think they need to make sure that all episodes leading up to the Royal Rumble need to be good. WWE need to do better booking for Smackdown, are they going to struggle without Randy Orton?

Will only be watching for Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes/Booker T. Seems like a solid match from the report.

Cody vs Booker is the only thing I'll watch and thanks God that's first.

I haven't been watching Smackdown these past few weeks, and the reason being is because it's a shadow of the show it used to be back in 2009. Everybody used to enjoy it much more than Raw and I was definitely one of those. The Raw Supershow is killing Smackdown, something that's evident in how bad this show sounds.

- Cody Rhodes retaining his title over Booker is no surprise, but their match was probably quite decent based off what they produced last week.

- That Cody/Goldust segment sounds alright as it got Rhodes over a little further.

- I didn't like Teddy Long being given an Assistant General Manager from the very beginning and I hate it even more now. I like Ryder and still couldn't stand the storyline as it's dumb, so now it's gonna eat up more time that could be used for something much better. I am glad that Ryder will no longer be used there as that'd be overkill now that he's United States Champion.

- The whole thing between Aksana and Teddy Long could've lead to something okay when it was started, but now it's just repetitive and I can't even understand what the fuck she says half the time. More time that could be used better.

- Don't care much for the AJ/Bryan segment. Just furthering the thing between the two of them that won't really serve much point in the end. Btw, AJ is so fucking cute.

- Hornswoggle winning anything over any WWE superstar is nothing but a fucking joke, so I really feel for Heath Slater here. It's not even funny and the WWE should grow the fuck up and stop booking shit like that. Slater vs. Gabriel in the future does nothing for me as they're never used as is.

- Surprised DiBiase didn't beat Hunico as Hunico isn't the one that needed a win really. DiBiase is supposed to have a Ryder-kind of push coming his way for his creative DiBiase Posse thing or whatever, so this result is surprising... but whatever.

- Clearly this feud between Sheamus and Mahal is a filler for Sheamus, but also to test what Mahal is capable of. Apparently he has done well from what I've read, but frankly I don't care for him very much. His promos are boring and he's decent in the ring, but in saying that I really hope something happens with him. I wouldn't mind it.

- If you lose to Santino, somebody who's only around for their comedic value, you know where your place is in the company. Enough said.

- McIntyre won't be released if he loses next week, purely because he was doing nothing anyway and if the WWE wanted to release him then they would've. Going to the trouble of making him wrestle for a few weeks to actually explain why he's gone is just silly and heartless.

- Can somebody else challenge Air Boom already? The continuation of this feud does nothing for me and just goes to show how bare the tag division is. Don't get me wrong, I've wanted to see Primo & Epico teamed together for so long now and it's great it has happened, but they lost their title match, so realistically a new team should be involved. Tisk tisk WWE, never gonna build your tag division that way.

- Tamina beating Natalya hey. So what?

- There was no chance that Big Show was going to win the title back so soon, no chance at all. I bet Henry was probably kinda boring on commentary, but actually having him there is definitely better than him trudging down the ramp during or after the match. Bryan celebrating a cheap DQ victory is annoying because that's nothing to be happy over considering Show never got himself disqualified.

To me, anything with Rhodes involved sounds like the only watchable parts of the show, as well as Barrett's promo. Another week, another lame Smackdown. Well done WWE, the Raw Supershow is doing you guys wonders...

This is pretty much me as well. The last Smackdown I watched was just before Cody ditched the grotesque gimmick, although I did catch Bryan vs Henry in the cage. It seems to have gotten good lately with the rise of Cody Rhodes, Hunico and Primo, Bryan the champ, etc. so maybe I'll watch this week.

NXT was more interesting than Smackdown this week by the looks of it...

I don't even need to look at what happened on NXT to know that that's never going to happen. Even with the WWE clearly blinded by the ratings Smackdown gets on whatever network it's on, it's still much better than anything NXT has produced this entire season. I actually forgot that NXT actually existed for a moment there as it's just pathetic how they've dragged it on so much.

Back to what I was saying about the WWE being blinded, I really think that's the case with Smackdown. They continue to show "Did You Know?" graphics on Raw or Smackdown about how Smackdown was the most watched show on whatever network it's on each and every week. They must not care how bad Smackdown is as long as Raw is clearly the flagship show and that Smackdown continues to top the network ratings. It's sad really.
