WWE Smackdown (Airing Friday)

* Alberto Del Rio, Ricardo Rodriguez and David Otunga come to the ring to open SmackDown. Both Ricardo and Otunga are wearing neckbraces. They’re upset about Sheamus and the deposition. Daniel Bryan comes out and then Sheamus comes out. Sheamus isn’t buying it and lays Otunga out.

* Sin Cara defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz in a non-title match.

* Kane defeated Kofi Kingston by chokeslam.

* Randy Orton came out to a massive pop and beat Tensai with the RKO.

* It was announced that The Miz will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Sin Cara, Rey Mysterio, & Cody Rhodes at WWE Night of Champions this Sunday.

* Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan in a WrestleMania Rematch is announced for later tonight.

* Kaitlyn gets the upset over Beth Phoenix. Layla was on commentary.

* Sheamus defeats Daniel Bryan with the Texas Cloverleaf.

Pretty much a strong go-home show before Night of Champions.

If I was Tensai, I'd leave WWE right now, being resorted to nothing. Surprised Barrett was not in a match here at all. Overall, not bad and will watch.

Looks like a good show other than the ridiculous Brogue Kick storyline opening segment. It just doesn't work for me and I don't think that this feud has needed all these extra gimmicky storylines.

Should be some good matches on the show and I really like the IC title match for NOC.

He did get to wrestle the number two face on Smackdown so that isn't too bad, better than what some of the other wrestlers have to put up with.

I love the Brogue Kick story for a couple reasons.

A) It's getting the Brogue Kick more over as this "dangerous" move even if the heels are faking their injuries.

B) It's helping Sheamus bring some other moves in his arsenal to the forefront like the Cloverleaf. He'll be a much more rounded wrestler because of it, and I'm already a huge fan of the Irish Murder Machine.

You make some very good points, I just think that this storyline on top of the car storyline is too much. I like that the Brogue Kick is being seen as more of a threat but I would have thought that by winning the title at WM in seven seconds with the kick would have shown the fans that his finisher was lethal. It is always good seeing wrestlers add more moves into their repertoire so I won't complain about that at all. Now with the Brogue Kick, Cloverleaf and the Celtic Cross that he took from Finlay he has three solid finishing moves.

Hopefully this Wrestlemania rematch only lasts 18 seconds again.

BTW according to other reports, Sin Cara gave one of the all time worst performances and totally Sabued his match.

You never know with those reports though, it could be someone that absolutely hates Sin Cara (and lets be honest there are a few of them out there) and so exaggerates what they saw. I guess we will have to wait and see when Smackdown airs although with the magic of editing WWE can clean up all the mistakes.

Really good SD I thought.

Entertaining opening segment and it was a nice touch getting Christian involved.

Kane/Kofi was nothing special but the ending was funny and added to that story.

Orton/Tensei was very boring.

The show was worth seeing just for the main event which was excellent.

The report made a mistake as Layla didn't do guest communtary on the Beth/Kaitlyn match she was just shown watching in the back.

The Opening promo was solid it served a purpose of getting over how deadly the Brogue kick is. I didn't like Christian who is a face coming out and saying he wanted it banned mainly cause of the logic of faces sticking with faces logic i have, Daniel Bryan was great here as well which is no surprise.

The Miz vs. Sin Cara
The match was very forgettable. This was a typical MIZ style match and it didn't looked to be cleaned up for TV thanks to Cara's botches, while the work was solid it was nothing special. *3/4

Kofi Kingston vs. Kane
Before the match In the back Kane is working a red stress ball in his hand. Daniel Bryan comes in and admonishes him for doing it with the wrong hand. Dr. Shelby tells them to squeeze their balls and release the anger. It seems to work until Kane shakes off the stupidity and states his ball is bigger than Bryan's. This was pretty quick, but it was fine. Kofi sold his ass off, but did get in some offense. Dr Shelby is out and he looks annoyed with Kane. Reluctantly he goes back into the ring and looks to chokeslam Kofi again but suddenly draws him in for a hug. Kofi nearly shits himself in surprise. Shelby is happy. *1/2

Tensai w/ Sakamoto vs. Randy Orton
I liked this match. I enjoyed the smash mouth aspect of the two guys kicked the crap out of each other. ***

Beth Phoenix vs. Kaitlyn
Well, its about time they had Kaitlyn win a match. I get that WWE really is supporting Eve at this time, but I think they should focus on Kaitlyn. *

Sheamus vs Daniel Bryan
TREMENDOUS MATCH. They could have went out for 30 minutes and had an amazing match. Bryan continues to be one of the best in ring workers in WWE, just so damn good at everything he does. Sheamus continues to be one of the best big man workers in the WWE and if you don't see it then i feel bad for you. This was a very well worked match, but the finish was predictable. ***1/4 I should really go back and watch the Extreme Rules and Hardcore match they had on Raw again.

I thought it was a very solid episode of Smackdown as well, in-ring work was very good, and I enjoyed the opening segment as well. Highlight was easily Bryan/Sheamus though.

Personally I thought the opening segment was horrible, truly horrible.

Other than that the show was pretty impressive and I enjoyed the hell out of Orton / Tensai and I don't understand all the flak he gets honestly.
