Like I said I'm fine with it but I can still see why people would be upset. Puts WWE in a difficult spot. They do good work outside but then make fun of their stars on television.
A company that deals in scripted entertainment shouldn't be bogged down in bullshit because of outside philanthropic ventures.

Its just goal post moving standard.

The way I see it, there shouldn't be a single person alive today who thinks anything done on WWE TV is a reflection of the people playing their characters, or a reflection on what the company stands for.

It's one thing to air something truly unethical or inappropriate for audiences, because they have sponsors to answer for who are concerned about their own image. But "bullying" is ingrained in wrestling, and I think everyone knows that.

I think this is mostly just an attempt by Taz to get himself a little clout. I don't see anyone that WWE cares about having an actual issue with Gable's height being mocked.

But even if it's scripted it might make people who are that thing feel bad. If you're a short guy just by seeing a short guy getting made fun of on televison might make you feel like shit.

Agreed. I like to make BA Star jokes when guys like Ryback had their bully gimmicks, but otherwise I honestly don't expect a company to be a paradise when it works in telling stories and needs bad guys to be bad guys. Doesn't mean they can't do good work outside of it.

You gotta draw the line somewhere. In a world of more than 7 billion people, you can't do anything that isn't going to offend SOMEONE.

Plus it's not like Gable isn't going to (presumably) get the last laugh.
