WWE signs a Flair

The Wrestling Observer reports WWE has signed Ashley Fliehr Johnson to a developmental contract. She is the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

Reports surfaced earlier this month that Ashley intended to follow in the footsteps of her legendary father as she was training to become a professional wrestler. She is expected to join WWE's Tampa, Florida based developmental training facility in the summer.

Ashley is the third Flair child to enter the professional wrestling industry. David notably competed for World Championship Wrestling from 1999 to 2001 while Reid currently wrestles on the independent circuit.

Ashley was a star volleyball player in high school, leading her team to two state titles in North Carolina. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts and is an ACE® Certified Personal Trainer. She also attended Appalachian State University where she was a Division-1 Full Scholarship Athlete in volleyball.

Least she appears to be athletic. Hope she takes after her pop and not her brothers. She and Shaul could have a good little rivalry for years if she is serious about wrestling

Nice. She seems to be very athletic and also not too bad on the eyes but I wouldn't say she's amazing. It's always good to have a female wrestler on the WWE roster with an amazing wrestling background. Especially with the Flair name. I'm sure she'll be a good learner and get some advice from Ric also.

Another reason for Ric Flair to return to the WWE.

Seems like she's all there athletically, wouldn't take her long to pick it up in the ring.

She doesn't seem to fit the "Diva" image. Have dad can teach her how to handle on the mic and there's plenty of on-screen roles available to her.

Problem with her brothers was that it came/comes off as them only getting into wrestling cause they felt it was what they had to do due to who their dad is rather than it being something they truly had a passion for. So I hope this is what she truly wants to do and has some charisma.

David never had the look.

Reid is still decently young and could break in. (The two as some sort of team or duo would be good)

She doesn't fit the typical diva mold which could be really good and hopefully means she can wrestle, and not that they're just capitalizing on the name.

the problem with the flair boys is they are just too small-reid and just not athletic-david.this girl looks a bit like michelle mccool only younger and has an athletic background.time will tell though.

^Michelle McCool was what first came to mind for me as well when I saw that photo. Good to see that she has an athletic background and isn't some model that wants to cash in on her dads fame. I think that she will do alright transitioning to wrestling because of her background and I am sure that WWE will give her a shot.

On the brothers I don't know why some are writing off Reid, he isn't that small and he has only been wrestling for a few years. I am glad that WWE and TNA haven't signed him yet and are allowing him to work the indies and work his way up rather than handing him a job based on his last name. I am confident that in a few years Reid will be in WWE.

From what I read on PWInsider, Lodi from WCW has been training her. And she's expected to join FCW in July.

Hmmm, interesting signing to say the least. Hard to judge how far she'll go this early. For those of you saying she doesn't have the diva look, neither does Shaul really, but she can wrestle, so hopefully it's the same with this girl.
