He's under contract for a few more months... it's not terminated yet. They are giving him time to completely make up his mind and/or rest his body, if he comes back then there are no negotiations required, he falls back into his contract. You will know when his contract is up because he will be removed from the main roster, his merch will be pulled, and an official statement will be released. But as for right now he still belongs to the WWE.
