WWE is just starting their annual release-a-thon

pwinsider said:
The first WWE release confirmed is Trent Baretta.

Baretta was signed to a developmental deal in 2008 and first appeared on the
main roster of the company as one half of the Dudebusters with Caylen Croft.

After Croft was released from the company, Baretta moved into a low level
singles run, most notably getting a surprise win over Drew McIntyre in 2011.

Baretta was forced out of the ring later that year with a torn biceps,
leading to a "Where's Trent" joke online amongst WWE talents, including Zack
Ryder's Youtube series. Even after he recovered, he was only used sparingly by
WWE.
Baretta is already booked for Pro Wrestling Syndicate over Wrestlemania
weekend in Metuchen, NJ, where he will be facing Sonjay Dutt.

pwinsider said:
WWE developmental Diva Skyler Moon has been released from her developmental deal
with the company. She was known in California as Buggy Nova before signing with
WWE.

No real surprises here. Trent Baretta was good but with the way that WWE barely used him it was clear that he was on his last legs. His best chance was as part of a tag team but after Croft was released he was just used as a singles wrestler.

Your thoughts on the releases? Who else do you think will be on the chopping block?

No Surprises? I'm surprised that neither of these were JTG

Well I am not surprised at the two listed and I am sure that there will be more to come.

With JTG at least he has been used on tv every now and then whereas Baretta hadn't been used on tv in a long long time. Wouldn't surprise me if JTG is one of the others that is released in the coming days.

It's about time the roster is overstacked with irrelevant talent. Hopefully this is a good thing though and they don't get rid of talent with actual potential.

That Buggy girl was just hired last year I thought, she had a nice look and from what I've seen was good in the ring, so that's kind of a surprise for me, but not so much because she was still developmental. Trent isn't surprising, he was decent for the c & d shows, won't be missed much.

I have no idea who Skyler Moon is, so that one doesn't bother me.

I've always liked Trent Barreta, so seeing that he's been released sucks. I'm very sure he's just about the youngest guy on the entire WWE roster (excluding NXT) so he still has quite a while to go. Why not just use him to job? It's TV time, plus I'm pretty sure that's how Jeff Hardy started out. Not saying he'd hit the same heights, but you get what I mean.

I still don't know how JTG has survived. I haven't watched WWE for months but I read up on the results here and there and you've got guys like Ezekiel Jackson and Yoshi Tatsu who're as old as John Cena and CM Punk that do nothing yet survive. If you have the size/physique or you tap into an international market, you'll keep your job.

My release wishlist.

I can't wait to see the reaction to that post.

May as well do mine - Ezekiel Jackson, The Great Khali, JTG and Yoshi Tatsu (ignoring international markets, blah blah blah).

It was only a matter of time before Barretta was released. He was a decent talent, but he was extremely expendable.

As far as who is next. I have some predictions:

Ezekiel Jackson
JTG
Zack Ryder
Tensai

I would assume Curt Hawkins will be released shortly after he is done recovering from injury, Khali has GOT TO GO..the guy can barely walk, JTG, Zeke.......

My desired list:

Hornswoggle, Alicia Fox, Zack Ryder

Guys like JTG, Ted DiBiase & Evan Bourne should be concerned.

Bourne is one of those who just can't seem to get a break, he has a talent to be a standout light heavyweight, and if promoted correctly could be a eye catching attraction.

Maybe if he didn't get busted twice within the space of a month or however long it was, then he'd be able to catch a break.

No that is fair, but he does have age on his side and time to sort that out, its just a case of how many more chances he will be given.

Baretta is young. I'm sure it's not the last we've seen of the guy. He's not being used, so why keep him? Let the guy go hone his talents some where else, and bring him back when he's got more experience.
