RAW Five-Point Preview
WWE.com said:It was all about the “Money” in Philadelphia last night, and Damien Sandow and Randy Orton found themselves rolling in riches when they won their respective Money in the Bank Ladder Matches. With the two devious Superstars declaring open season on the World Titles, how soon before they make their plays for championship gold? And how soon before Paul Heyman faces the music with CM Punk? Here are five things to watch out for on a game-changing Raw.
1. Scholar, yes. But a gentleman?
WWE.com said:Damien Sandow truly proved himself the smartest man in the World Heavyweight Championship Contract Money in the Bank Ladder Match, taking refuge from the chaos and seizing the coveted contract by betraying his tag partner and best friend, Cody Rhodes, at the bout’s moment of truth. Given the enormity of Cody’s efforts in the match and the lows with which Sandow sunk to steal the win, will Team Rhodes Scholars’ bonds of friendship begin to fray?
2. Snake in the grass
WWE.com said:Looks like John Cena’s got himself a viper to deal with. Randy Orton earned the latest accolade in his storied career by capturing his first-ever Money in the Bank Contract, earning himself an opportunity to win the WWE Title whenever he likes. It’s unlikely that the methodical Orton will announce his opportunity like Cena did last year, so how will The Champ cope with perhaps his most vicious foe waiting in the wings? On a similar note, will The World’s Strongest Man make another play for the WWE Title? Or will a new challenger, like Rob Van Dam, emerge to step up?
3. Love really does bite
WWE.com said:Love means never having to say you’re sorry, but AJ Lee will be all but spewing apologies following her ill-conceived intrusion into Dolph Ziggler’s World Title Match against Alberto Del Rio at Money in the Bank. The interference cost The Showoff the match and kept the title in The Essence of Excellence’s clutches, but the damage to Dolph’s momentum and relationship may be twofold. How will The Showoff recover from the twin disappointments? More importantly, which will he address first?
4. Knockaround (Heyman) Guys
WWE.com said:Well, that’s one way to sever a friendship. CM Punk professionally distanced himself from Paul Heyman weeks ago, but the mad scientist upped the ante at Money in the Bank and viciously attacked his former protégé with a ladder. The assault cost Punk the WWE Title Contract that eventually went to Orton (Punk was alone in the ring at the time of Heyman’s strike), so it stands to reason that Punk may try and make the mad scientist go to sleep on Raw.
5. The family returns
WWE.com said:The Wyatt Family made one of the most memorable debuts in WWE history last week when they attacked Kane with the steel steps and put The Devil’s Favorite Demon out of action for Money in the Bank. Which, of course, begs the question of why? With Kane’s status for Monday still undetermined, will the backwoods troika provide answers for their assault? Tune in tonight at 8/7 CT on USA Network to find out.
