I read LOTR first. Then, my 5th grade teacher told me I should read the Hobbit. I didn't like it because it was too much of a kids' book, so I put it down after the first two or three chapters. Mrs. Atkinson was disappointed (of course, the fact that she had a 5th grade student who read LOTR, Dracula, Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and about a half-dozen other "hard" books probably tempered her disappointment).

I was the same only I read the entire Hobbit. Still one of my fav books. Good for a quick read through whenever.

Lol i used to read Terry Pratchett an was moaned at for not reading Enid Blyton. Like lol im reading adult books teacher get a grip
