Was he?

I know supposedly he was added to the alumni section on the wwe website (I can't get it to load to see) and I don't remember any reports on him being released. Not saying you're wrong, just don't remember seeing it.
Ironically it was a fake report he saw but Del Rio being fired, he has been on alumni section. The one I posted is from a legit reporter, the one Booty was quoted was actually the fake one.

But yeah he is deffo not fired, he is still the AAA Champ

SRS appears to be trying to confirm Dave’s scoop as well, but as of now Dave is reporting that WWE has in fact given Del Rio a new deal specifically from WWE/AAA and not just acquiring his existing contract. Which is just bizarre.

None of the contracts are being acquired, apparently they all have to have to be reworked to fit the WWE mold. They could have let some of these guys go for free but decided they will work new deals instead .

Yeah, I was just reading that. That’s how they know they’re new deals. There’s stuff in their deals that the original AAA contracts didn’t cover.

The main take away from this though is that anybody moving forward is someone they intentionally chose to have and not just honoring existing deals.

Correct. Mexican contracts were very flimsy and unenforced so WWE was always gonna tighten that up with their exclusivity stuff.

Just a shame at least 2 huge abusers being greenlit. But then again they love platforming monsters

Even with all the shit they're doing, I am expecting most of these, especially the one's with the big red flags, stay on AAA soil... as long as there is enough online backlash for keeping those under contract that is. If that dies down though... well enjoy your Alberto Del Rio Rumble appearance etc

The del Rio one you can like sort of justify if it was to get the title off of him (and even then ew just have him lost to Vikingo ASAP or someone else) but why the fuck is the person Steph has a restraining order on being signed apparently

...eh, if they don't plan on having Hiedra perform in any WWE (or Vaquer in AAA shows), then the restraining order isn't factoring in really. ...and as long as Vaquer is pushed hard and seen as a top act the next couple of years, I don't think she'll raise a stink about it either, if they tell her that they'll make sure to keep them apart.

Still bullshit to give talent with such red flags contracts, of course... but it's not that it's a new thing for the WWE.

WWE has shown no signs of bringing Alberto back prior to this so my guess is WWE is currently just signing whomever AAA wants in an attempt to appear to be giving them creative control, but we’ll see how long that lasts.

To be fair, I did enjoy his prime WWE run but not enough…
