I think they should take Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, WM, and the Chamber and place them on ppv. I think the other ones should be used as In Your House or SNME shows on the network. And yes I purposely left Survivor Series off ppv solely because to me that should be the one member of the big 4 they can afford to put on the network on a Sunday

If I'm going to pay 15 bucks a month, I better get all the PPVs outside of the big 4. Can still have all the PPVs for those who do'nt get the channel, but if I'm paying premium price, I better get my moneys worth.

I agree with you, I would probably keep the chamber off the network and put Survivor Series on it, but I'm good either way. They just need to make the shows available on ppv simultaneously.

I have a feeling that when the network launches YouTube is going to be hit hard with copyright claims

I just personally like the space between the big 4 PPVs though and I think it'd be awkward to have three of your four big PPVs at the very beginning of the year. I get Survivor Series has really been sucking lately but having the Rumble, Chamber and then 'Mania all legit PPVs and then the only other one being SummerSlam just seems odd to me.

I guess that's true and I hadn't thought about placement. Maybe they will put more emphasis in survivor series finally. I just said the chamber because they always give it a proper focus that I think is only behind the other big 3.

Still think Netflix is the future....think a network should've been a no brainer in 2000, when TV was still the only real option. Most people netflix nowadays.

But if they are going for a network, I still want WWE styled 30 for 30 documentaries, and I want a Kevin Dunn segment, and a Jim Johnston segment, and all the editors and guys in the production trucks, because that is the most interesting stuff we never get to see and I think if WWE actually showed people just how much goes into making one Raw, that company would've been raking in Emmy's decades ago

Can't they have a TV network and an app for full length video content? The nba has one setup for League Pass. HBO has one for their subscribers too. I mean they already stream ppvs on the iPad, ps3, and other platforms so they could easily create an app that streams the ppvs live and places the shows as video on demand for subscribers. Heck they should even take a total page from the nba and have a mobile plan, broadband plan, and a TV combo plan that costs more but gives you total access.

The problem with own and revolt was that they half assed them. Fox Sports 1, NBA TV and LP, and so on should be their aspiration. I mean if they were just going to not fully commit to going all out, I would think they would just reach a deal with universal to purchase G4 like Esquire did Style

All I know is this is a big gamble by WWE, their stock is high because of this project, went from 7 bucks a share to 15....if they don't break even or a little better than that, their stock plummets. Gotta think 500000 subscribers is make or break because of all the money it takes to launch a network.

Their stock is also high because universal has competition for a Raw and SD. They are going to milk more money out of them for both shows, end up not having to be exclusive to universal on cable and sell SD to fox sports, or maybe jump to Fox all together. They probably are going to be looking at Laker/Nascar money now because Raw is a commodity after the pg era, same with sd who is the second longest running show in history.

Their TV deals make it a safer bet than years ago when they thought it over.

Regarding Hulk Hogan’s talks with WWE, we’ve noted before how Triple H and Vince McMahon do not want his return deal with the company to be contingent on him having a match at WrestleMania XXX. Word now is that WWE feels Hogan won’t turn down the opportunity to return even if he’s not happy with his role at WrestleMania XXX. WWE officials feel they have a lot of leverage because they can pay Hogan more than TNA and it’s not like Hogan was eager to stay in TNA anyways.

WWE is looking for Hogan to have a “major role” in terms of being featured on programming for the WWE Network and hope his presence will entice older fans to check out the service even if they have no interest in the current product.

The same goes for Bruno Sammartino as WWE is hoping to use him as an asset to the Network in a similar fashion but they do realize that he has far less mainstream name brand value compared to Hogan. Also, given Bruno’s age, there’s no way the company can rely on him still being alive to continue to film new content consistently for the next 5-10 years.

Not surprising at all. Hulk can be useful and a commodity if used right, take note TNA and Spike.

The way it looks, it seems like I may actually get my 30 for 30 WWE docs. Sure hope so, nostalgia is awesome, I still watch old PPVs on youtube, and they have tons of guys on legends contracts to bring in and talk about their prime years. Could steal those kayfabe commentary timeline shit, but they would have the actual footage to go with it.

Here's the full write up and I do like the streaming part

Justin LaBar of WrestleZone.com is reporting that WWE has a targeted launch date of February 24th for the WWE Network, which is the day after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. This confirms a previous report from PWInsider.com, but LaBar's sources provided him with a few extra tidbits about the Network:

- Initial price point will be in the $10-$12 a month range, with the sign-up being for six months.

- You'll be able to watch WrestleMania 30 on the Network, with the plan still being the reported "every non-WrestleMania pay-per-view airing on the Network in the future".

- It won't be a channel on television, but an app-like service along the lines of Netflix that you'll be able to watch online and on devices like smart TVs, PS3, PS4, X-Box 360, X-Box one, and so on.

- There will be a live, 24/7 stream of content on the Network, which is the thing that will separate it from apps like Netflix, which focuses more on-demand viewing. However, on-demand viewing will still be a part of the Network, as the entire library of Raw and Smackdown episodes, as well as pay-per-views, will be available to watch at launch.

If any more information comes out, we'll be sure to pass it along to all of you.

Guessing it won't be worldwide despite it being an online streaming service?

Nice, they took the Netflix idea, and decided to do it themselves, hopefully they have a good team working on this, cuz I won't accept anything shoddy, where it crashes my shit, or loading taking forever ot any of that nonsense.
