That didn't happen until WrestleMania XXX. We had to watch over 20 WrestleMania matches KNOWING Undertaker would win in the meantime.

To be fair, they didn't really start taking notice to the streak til it got past 10 or 11 wins, so it would be more like maybe 10 that you knew? Even then I felt he was going to lose to Orton.

You mean not showing up until the night after the February PPV and only spending 5 weeks on the build? Yeah, it was pretty trash.

And no, most times we think we know who'll win a match and then WWE will swerve us.

It was still great build up regardless.

No he doesn't want her kids to take over because he thinks she's doing a bad job.

He was quite clear about how he said "generational" and pointed to himself. He wasn't even trying to cover up he meant the male heir should take over.

10-30 is the span I was basically talking about. It felt like forever. And he should have lost to Orton. It would have made the Legend Killer gimmick.

Well maybe you interpreted it wrong.

That one loss doesn't rectify the other 20 years. And actually, that year had the most buzz for Lesnar ending the streak.

It would have been more surprising had it been CM Punk the year before.

What do you mean 10-30? And having Orton win wouldn't have made the gimmick because his streak wasn't as important back then.

I didn't, He made it crystal clear. He pointed to himself. Practically air quoted generational, said Stephanie and her daughters couldn't pass the company and then mentioned his own sons.

Then repeated "generational. He was quite clear about this.

No I meant his match wise. Like to say you knew going into over 20 of his matches he'd win, that's saying you knew the streak was coming before he even had his first match, seeing as he won 21 of them. 21 being the first number over 20. Did you mean maybe for 20 years??? Even that seems a bit of a stretch. Surely seeing as it was rumored he originally was planned to lose in his 3rd one.

It was important enough not to be over-hyped, so fans wouldn't lose their shit, but talked about enough that Orton would gotten a strong push into the top spot.

He's had a mach at every WrestleMania between 9-XXX with exception for like three shows. They made the first mention of the streak at X-Seven and had Undertaker really drive it home when he faced Ric Flair in Toronto the next year. That's at least 12 WrestleMania matches where the main story line was his ridiculous streak. Otherwise, you get my point. This is all semantics.

The streak was always going to end. But waiting 21 years doesn't make the first 20 MATCHES MORE EXCITING WHEN YOU KNEW HE WOULD WIN!

That is more of a better number. The Flair one was what I meant when they started to really mention it. I mean I get your point, I always knew he would win it. But until the last 3-4 at the most 5..he was there for a lot longer than the time you mentioned to build up for it. The Undertaker vs CM Punk build up was honestly some of the best heel work I've seen in years. But hey, we all can have opinions. I for one am happy to see Shane as I was always a fan of his back in the day. It's the same reaction I would give CM Punk if he came back after that long of time. Same reaction I gave The Rock when he first returned(but then again, I was going to to be at that WrestleMania he was hosting...so possibly why.) Hell  I get sort of excited when people I don't even care for come back after a long time. If Hogan wasn't in TNA, I would have probably marked out for him as well when he came back to WWE.
