As previously noted, WWE is planning on celebrating 25 years of RAW on the January 22nd, 2018 episode of the show.

Bryan Alvarez discussed the celebration on today's installment of Wrestling Observer Live and mentioned that the even will be an "all hands on deck" episode. He speculated that the company will bring several WWE Superstars of the past to make an appearance on that show.

The event will take place at the held in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclatys Center and WWE has plans to release a DVD in celebration of the 25 years.

When you don't make superstars of today, you rely on yesterday. Shame.

WWE always brought in nostalgia acts to pop an episode.

Snuka was always a New years guarantee.

It's an anniversary show, of course they're gonna trot out nostalgia acts..

Non-news like this needs to stop being reported

I love returns, I love nostalgia. I just wrote that it is not only because of nostalgia, it is also because they really need former stars as their new ones not that much over actually. New audience not familiar with them but old ones will just keep up more or even look it up once again. Roman got sick and Angle replaced him as there are not many stars in roster, they couldn't have someone mediocre in that match and the only choice was Kurt Angle.

I also think that bringing former stars is great as you can have dream matches, interesting storylines, they can put new guys over but the "real" reason WWE does that is just a bit sad for them.

I do want an Austin beer bash and stunner for the culture.
It's been too long since Austin opened up a can of beer and a can of whoop-ass.

With WWE stacking the deck on bringing in major names for the 25th Anniversary show, there may be an addition to that list. Right now, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash are the marquee names on the ticket, along with superstars from both Raw and SmackDown Live. According to PWInsider, The Rockcould also make an appearance. However, it is likely that it would not be a physical appearance, but via satellite or a pre-recorded video.

Typically, The Rock makes an appearance at every WrestleMania event since his official return in 2011. He was the host of WrestleMania 27, and competed at both WrestleMania 28 and 29, splitting matches against John Cena. He was a part of the opening segment of WrestleMania 30, along with Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin, and brought Ronda Rousey to the ring at WrestleMania 31 during a segment with Triple Hand Stephanie McMahon. He returned back to the ring after a three-year hiatus to defeat Erick Rowan in quick fashion at WrestleMania 32. However, he did not appear at WrestleMania 33 due to his intense schedule.

While The Rock would make a terrific addition to the 25th Anniversary Show, it is reportedly unlikely that we will see him in the ring, as his schedule will most likely not permit.
