WWE 2009: Last Brand Standing!

It is after TLC and the WWE universe is slowly changing. Sheamus has become the brand new WWE Champion, Batista is on a rampage looking for the World title, Regal is losing control of the once stranglehold he had on ECW. What else could go wrong within the WWE… a WWE mega trade! At the Slammy Awards, Dennis Miller was scheduled to be the special guest host, but he ended up not showing and Eric Bischoff came out as his replacement. As the night came to an end and Cena stood high above the rest after becoming the Wrestler of the Year defeating Randy Orton! Bischoff came out and announced that he would be making the first ever, MEGA trade, which consisted of 10 superstars from each brand changing brands! The only safe wrestlers… champions! And to seal the deal Bischoff announced next weeks special guest as former ECW manager, Paul Heyman! What will the trade do to the foundation of the WWE? Is RAW losing control of it’s managers? Who will become the Last Brand Standing in the WWE war of the brands?

Monday Night Raw!
December 21, 2009
Special Guest Host: Paul Heyman

Segment #1:
We open up Monday Night Raw with Randy Orton coming to the ring. Orton is angry and it is visible in his eyes. Orton says that tonight is the beginning of a new life for him. He says that he has been separated from his legacy. He says that the WWE is screwing him because they hate him! They are screwing him because the fans don’t appreciate him! Orton says that for this reason he is going to send a message to the WWE! He is going to make sure that the fans know he is not just going to sit back and take whatever the WWE says or does!

Suddenly the music of Paul Heyman begins to play and he slowly walks down to the ring. He stops at the bottom of the ramp and asks Orton what he thinks he is doing? Orton asks Heyman who the hell he thinks he is interrupting him like that? Heyman laughs and says that as the guest General Manager he has the right to do so! Heyman says that tonight will not only be the beginning of a new era for Orton in losing his Legacy, but also a beginning of a new era of hell for Orton! Heyman then announces that right here, right now he will be forced to face… The Ripper! But since it is and Extreme Rules night it will be in a, Tables Match!

Match #1:
Randy Orton defeats The Ripper
In a match that was supposed to begin a new era in hell for Orton, was the beginning of Orton’s message to the WWE. Orton jumped Ripper on his way to the ring with a lead pipe leaving the English powerhouse defenceless. Orton would slowly make his way down to the ring using the barricade a couple times, but delivers a couple costly blows with the steel steps. Orton tosses Ripper into the ring before fetching a table and setting it up. Orton then continued the assault with a steel chair, slamming it into his skull a couple times and then choking him with it for a few seconds. Orton would then lay the chair on the table and lift himself and Ripper to the top rope before nailing a massive Super RKO!

Orton grabs a mic after the match and tells Heyman and all the future guest hosts that they will have to do better then that. He then says that it will only be a short time before he gets his message across to the WWE!

Segment #2:
We go to the backstage area where The Miz is standing with his United states title. Josh Matthews is getting ready to interview him, but he quickly grabs the mic and directs his attention to the Battle Royal tonight. He says that he is the greatest United States champion in WWE history. He has stepped up week in and week out to not only defend the title but defeat the challenger to retain! He says that he is not scared or intimidated by any of the 8 wrestlers in the battle royal and could defeat all 8 of them! He says that the winner won’t truly be a winner, the winner will be a true loser when he loses what he fought so hard for!

Segment #3:
We go to Paul Heyman’s office where he is sitting back in a leather couch telling old ECW stories to a couple of the women when Maryse walks in with a disgusted smile on her face. She asks the 4 diva’s sitting around Heyman and Heyman what kind of prank they are pulling. Maryse says that there is no diva’s match on the card and that if this is what the diva’s are going to do… then what is the point in having diva’s! Heyman laughs and says to watch run around half dressed! Maryse takes great offence to this and gets ready to slap him when he holds her hand and says that instead of slapping him how about slapping someone she hates even more! Maryse seems happy about this as she rips her hand away and asks who? Heyman smiles and says, Melina, but since it is an Extreme night it would be a Ladder match for the Women’s Title!

Match #2:
Shelton Benjamin wins the 6 Man Battle Royal for a shot at the United States title!
The Battle Royal began in shear chaos with all 8 man picking their rival out of the pack. Benjamin went right to work early fighting the one of the top dogs in ECW, Vance Archer out of the ring for the first elimination. The Hart Dynasty used there tag teaming skill to double team the one of the big men, Mike Knox and throw him to the outside for the second elimination of the night. Finlay and Kozlov are left alone fighting until The Hart Dynasty jump in and start to beat on Kozlov. Benjamin and Finlay begin fighting in one of the corners each trying to eliminate the other, but both men failing to do so. The Hart Dynasty double team works well again after wearing down Kozlov and tossing his limp body over the top rope. Although the Hart dynasty are quickly showing the way out when Benjamin and Finlay began to work as a team tossing each out after about 2 minutes of fighting back and forth. Benjamin would end up winning and gaining the final elimination after both men land on the apron and Benjamin ducks a punch and lands a hard superkick that sends Finlay to the ground outside.

After the match Benjamin celebrates his victory for a short time before out of the crowd The Miz jumps the barricade and slams the United States title into the back of his head! Miz stands above Shelton holding the title in his face and says that no one can beat him!

Segment: #4
D-X is backstage in their dressing room preparing for their match by joking around and sitting in front of a crackling fire with an x-mas tree filled with D-X stuff in the background. Triple H sees the camera and begins to plug the new D-X winter hats when suddenly Hornswoggle walks in with a big grin on his face. Triple H and Michaels are slightly on edge from this interruption until Hornswoggle hands them a sheet of paper. Triple H questions what it could be. Michaels quickly rips into it and reads that until D-X allows Hornswoggle to join D-X that they are on probation! Any lose will cost them their partnership! D-X are fuming as Hornswoggle does the double chop and runs off!

Match #3:
Melina defeats Maryse to retain the Women’s Title!
Melina comes out quite angry at the actions of Maryse to get this match and goes right to work delivering lots of powerful moves that catch Maryse off guard. Melina brings the ladder into action early delivering a couple shots and going for the title, but the tides change quickly when Maryse and Melina meet at the top and slug it out until Maryse delivers a massive superplex. The match slows down as each women lands their share of moves which cause lots of damage after the superplex. Maryse has a close encounter for the title until Melina jumps up and lands a powerbomb from the top rung! The two continue back and forth even slower until out of the blue Melina delivers a massive tornado DDT onto a steel chair that was brought into the match but not used up to this point. Maryse is knocked out as Melina slowly climbs the ladder and pulls her title down!

Segment #5:
We open backstage in Paul Heyman’s office where he is on the phone with Vince McMahon. He is talking about how great tonight’s Raw went and says that there are still two huge title matches before the end! McMahon sounds quite proud, but his voice changes tones when he says that next week he will be making an appearance on Raw to discuss the first Raw of 2010 to all of the WWE Fans, but leaves that in the dust when he begins to hint on next week’s special guest host! Heyman begins to ponder and wager a couple guesses when he says he is a former ECW extremist! Vince is so excited he jumps right into saying that the next guest host will be… Mr. Monday Night, Rob Van Dam! The crowd begins going nuts as Heyman nods his head and applauds Vince’s decision. Vince says that that is no surprise and congratulates Heyman on the great show before letting him go!

Match #4:
D-X defeat Jeri-Show to retain Unified Tag Team Titles!
In an amazing back and forth match that lasted a little under 20 minutes D-X defied the odds to defeat Jeri-Show one more time. Big Show opened the match like a wrecking ball taking Michaels out and then tossing Triple H around a little. Jericho finally gets to come in and blows it for his team as Triple H overpowers Jericho every chance he gets. Jericho, however, turns the match around after hitting a poke to the eyes un seen. Show comes back in with a fury, but is stopped early by a double team by D-X. Show slowly gets beat down by quick tags! However, the beat down is finally stopped when Show finally gets a tag. The match goes back and forth with both teams making frequent tags. The end slowly builds up for D-X after the first weapons finally come into play for D-X. Jeri-Show try and get away from the weaponary, but the falls count anywheres rule allows Michaels to hit a superkick on Big Show that leads to a Triple H pedigree on the stage!

D-X celebrate back in the ring with their tag team titles, but the celebration is cut short when Triple H calls for a mic. He says that Hornswoggle has taking this to far! He says that to be in D-X you gotta be always happy, willing to have fun and not try to get in by black mailing the team! Michaels grabs the mic and says that D-X have decided to put Hornswoggle through a bunch of tests next week on Raw and if he passes 3 or more out of the 5 something will happen. They then say that if he isn’t down with that then they got two words for him…. Suck it!

Segment #6:
Backstage Josh Matthews is able to stop John Cena on his way to the ring for an interview. Matthews asks Cena what will happen if he loses this only re-match that he has? Cena laughs and says that he will re-build and climb back to the top of the chain once again! Cena then guarantees that he will not lose any more matches until the title is back into his hands! Matthews asks Cena how he can guarantee such an insane proposition? Cena laughs and says that the fans love him and he feeds off the crowd support! Matthews asks if the Tables scare him considering the facts of his two prior loses? Cena shakes his head and says that Sheamus has only won by catching him off guard, but he says that he will be completely attentive to everything tonight! Matthews asks if he has any last comments before his match! Cena stares deep into the camera and says that Sheamus better be ready for the fight of his life!

Segment #7:
Jerry Lawler and Todd Grisham run down the events that led to this re-match between John Cena and Sheamus from Sheamus’ trade from ECW to Raw to the contract signing to TLC where Sheamus won the title! They then run down a quick tale of the tape with their heights, weights, finishers and accomplishements!

Main Event:
Sheamus defeats John Cena to Retain WWE Title!
In a very physical match that lasted a little over 15 minutes Cena looked to be in the best shape of his life. Sheamus tried hard to fight back, but each attempt was foiled by Cena and his physical dominance. Near the middle of the match Sheamus finally completed his comeback bringing a steel chair into the match and nailing his big boot to Cena who was holding the chair. With a table set up Sheamus looked to have Cena put away going for a powerbomb, but Cena countered out and the war continued with both men getting near drops through the table. Cena gained the upper hand after setting Sheamus up on the table after a five knuckle shuffle and went to the top rope until Orton came charging down the ramp! Cena’s attention is turned to Orton who goes to push him, but backs of when Sheamus jumps off the table and tosses Cena through!

After the match Sheamus has a huge grin on his face as Orton cautiously makes his way into the ring. Sheamus takes his title and lays it across Cena’s chest before taking Orton’s hand and putting both his and Orton’s hand’s high into the air as Raw goes off the air.
