WWE Superstars will be getting more time at home as the company has decided to cut back on the number of live events they run each month.

Previously, the wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown were wrestling at least 4 shows per week. SmackDown would run shows on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and wrestlers on Raw would wrestle on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. According to the upcoming live event schedule, wrestlers will not be working anywhere near those amount of dates.

In February, Raw wrestlers will work at a maximum of 10 shows and the same number applies to SmackDown wrestlers. WWE will be running combined Raw/SmackDown SuperShows on some weekends, which means that some wrestlers will not be flown in so most (if not all) wrestlers will be working fewer than 10 shows next month.

In March, Raw wrestlers will work a maximum of 14 dates and that same number applies for the SmackDown wrestlers. Again, WWE has combined SuperShows scheduled for some cities so that means that most wrestlers (if not all) will be working less than 14 dates.

The extra time off gives wrestlers a chance to heal nagging injuries and more time to spend with their families so this is going to be welcomed news by everyone on the main roster. Wrestlers in WWE are making more money than ever before but some have looked at AEW’s schedule while contemplating their future. WWE’s schedule is still busier than any other wrestling company but, as you can see below, it’s much better now than it used to be.

WWE doesn’t make much from live events these days and most of their revenue comes from their TV contracts and their deal with Saudi Arabia so it makes sense to cut back on live events.
It's always been talked about how gruelling the WWE schedule is so i'm sure the talent will be happy to hear about having extra time at home with their families and getting chance to recover from all the knocks they're carrying.

Great news IMO, live events just aint what they're used to be. As someone who lives somewhere that never gets wrestling anymore compared to the past bc WWE has been cutting down on live events around here for awhile anyway...I'm a little upset about it, but I think this is the best move for the company for sure as long as they aren't missing out on too much revenue from it bc the benefit this give the workers could results in some crazy benefits overall.

Yeah, this is probably for the best honestly. Live events can be fun sometimes, even if I've not been to one in YEARS.

That being said, I might consider going to the one that we got coming here in a few months since it's with the Raw Talent.

Live events are when the performers have fun..... TVs are the grueling part.

I fully think live events should mainly be for overseas fans who never get TV tapings anywhere near them. *hint hint*NEW ZEALAND*hint hint*

I think it was Henry Ford that originally said that workers should get weekends off from working in major industries. I might be wrong though, but that idea of cutting work days definitely started in the 1900's-1930's.

Kinda weird actually - I would keep the number of live events, but give more opportunities to those who don't get much TV time. Given how huge the WWE rosters are there are always guys kinda just doing nothing and getting big bucks for it - they probably would appreciate more opportunities to prove themselves at live shows?

The same people working day in day out at live events is something worth changing for sure tho.

LOL, that's some nice spin. Reality is WWE doesn't make money on house shows anymore.

This is the way to go, or:

As suggest above by @Ace Dalton, keep the house-shows but have them be for the talents that don't get enough airtime on Raw and SD. And with technology these days, the talents on the house shows will still get more exposure than just the fans in the arenas for these house shows:

WWE can upload these house shows to the WWE Network for fans to see. They can also upload videos, photos, and gifs from these house shows to WWE's Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts. Plus, fans themselves these past several years who attend these house shows have been uploading videos and photos from the house shows up on their own person Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts. So, whether it by WWE themselves on the WWE Network and WWE's official social media platforms, or from the fans that attend these house shows that upload their own videos and photos onto their own social media platforms, the wrestlers on the house shows will still get exposure, and that doesn't even include the fans themselves that will attend the shows.

If they don't want to do that, then they should severely cut down on them. They don't make much money these days and it's extra wear and tear on talents' bodies. If these house shows were still making WWE alot of money then you can make the argument for keeping them, but they don't..

But if you're not putting the majority of your top stars on the show that people actually want to see, why in the hell would people want to go to that show? Aint nobody wanting to spend money to watch a show full of Mojo Rawleys, No Way Joses and B-Team

Maybe they can rotate the top stars that on are the show, and fill out the rest of the show with the lower talent. Have like 2 or 3 matches with top stars, but basically change them out just enough to keep them fresh.

A lot of superstars have said they like live events more because they can just have fun instead of worrying about looking good in front on a tv audience. At the same time wrestling ain't easy so I guess it's good they're getting more time off.

Yeah, with the price live events usually are where I am, I wouldn't go if the card didn't have the big names for me like Roman or Seth on it. Paying like 200 bucks for a bunch of jobbers? No thanks.
