- It's being reported in Japan that Tensai was making $100,000 per year with New Japan Pro Wrestling and to lure him away, WWE offered $400,000. It's also being reported that WWE is trying to sign NJPW stars Karl Anderson and Prince Devitt.
Sure he would love to be used regularaly as a normal character, but $400k to dance around like a buffoon, I'm sure he won't mind that. Still think the WWE didn't give the actual Tensai gimmick a proper shot and pulled the plug on it far too quickly.

No idea who the 2 guys they're interested in are, but the names I've heard banded about on other forums and such.

Very good idea if they sign Devitt. He may be small, but he's got a certain kind of charisma about him that I think will make him successful in the WWE. I haven't seen enough of Karl Anderson to give my opinions on him, but I have heard enough to believe he could be pretty decent.

400k a year? Are you fucking kidding me? If you're going to pay someone that much, at least use them on a regular basis, and not just have them dance. That's an investment.

Karl Anderson is FUCKING AWESOME, he was the guy Tensai teamed with for awhile in NJPW.

I've seen a few Machine Gun Karl Anderson matches, including the two most recent ROH matches against Michael Elgin. He's a big dude,. and it just doesn't look right with him using the Ace Crusher as a finisher, but... clearly that'd be off the table if he came to WWE lol.

People have already expressed their opinions on Devitt here while back. Apparently he's too small (5'11 worth of small), and therefore just a useless indie vanilla midget.

Karl Anderson would be a good pick. He'd be used to the slower pace of WWE thanks to his work in New Japan so I imagine he wouldn't much trouble adjusting to the change. Same goes for Devitt.

$400,000 is way too much for Tensai. Guess they wasted money there because the guy has done nothing for them.

Who knows if Tensai really makes that kind of money. If he does, it made sense to offer it when they did. The plan seemed to be to establish him as a singles wrestler that might play a part in the main event scene a few times, but most likely they wanted a decent hand to help get over younger talent on their way up the ladder. I don't know if that didn't work out physically, whether all the plans for the character fizzled, or creative fell in love with the idea of having him dance with Brodus Clay. When he left the WWE the first time around, his momentum seemed to be waning, but the guy had become a pretty well established heel.

Its odd for WWE to pay someone that much for just being an opening act comedy character. I know that he started more serious, but unless they intended to give him a run on top and feature him constently at that level I don't get it. Can't blame Tensai for taking it, guy has been busting his arse for years and it means he can now retire if he wanted.

WWE overpaying because someone was "big in Japan"?

Unheard of lol.

Karl Anderson would be a nice pickup, could be used as a good hand. Nothing more than that imo.

I think WWE should rid of their talent contract with AJPW (because they have, what, 8 people there) and sign one with NJPW. To see guys like Kazuchika Okada, Karl Anderson, Prince Devitt, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and a few others step into a WWE ring as well as CM Punk, Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and a few others step into a NJPW ring would be phenomenal. To top that off, WWE could have a few cross-brand PPVs featuring KENTA vs Punk/Jericho/Bryan and make tons of money just off of their talent.

If they did that, then WWE could also have the chance of using NJPW's teams and stables. Bullet Club, Time Stoppers, Forever Hooligans, Hiroshi Tanahashi/Jushin Liger, possibly the Tiger Mask group. WWE Bookers would have a field day if they could use NJPW's roster, and probably vice versa.

Being big in Japan don't mean shit in North America. Bringing in NJPW guys would get over like a Ziggler promo. There is a reason why they only fill tiny bingo halls and highschool gyms in North America,
