Kevin Patrick is perfectly fine as a commentator. Don't get all the hate. Not saying he's good or bad. He's fine.

I wish Vic Joseph gets another shot with someone that isn't an over the top character like Booker T. I loved him with Barrett and feel like the over-the-top Booker T is not as good a fit. I honestly think KP/Booker and Vic/Graves is the better pairings. Don't know if KPs schedule permits him to do Tuesdays with his MLS commitments. I'd think the NXT PLEs would definitely be an issue during the MLS season so dont know if it'd work.

An update on Kevin Patrick.

It was reported at the beginning of the year that longtime WWE announcer Michael Cole would be returning to Raw alongside Wade Barrett, and that SmackDown would be called by Patrick and Corey Graves. The move had some in the IWC talking as Patrick has yet to prove himself as a reliable play-by-play man on his own.

According to PW Insider, there are some in WWE who are watching to see how Patrick does now that Cole is not with him on SmackDown. The report states that there is a feeling that Patrick really needs to step it up if he hopes to remain in that position.

This Friday’s WWE SmackDown will take place from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. Stay tuned.​

McAfee really can't do weekly TV commentary right now with his schedule. Even though it got better since he's done with College Football. Smackdown is the best option since it's Friday and he can do his ESPN show live on location somewhere only 1 day. But I think if we get him anywhere it's Rumble and Mania again.
