I think Cena did dodge a bullet. I still think he wasn't truly into the idea of marriage and kids with Nikki. So it was probably for the best they broke up before they got that far. Nikki can marry Artem and Cena can be in a relationship with his girl and everybody's happy.

Yeah, it also helps that they weren't going head to head with the NFL anymore for the first time since September. And some folks started to post on that other forum that Monday Night Football doesn't affect Raw's ratings anymore. Mm-hmm.
