To be fair here, people deny things all the time and turns out they was lying and covering their tracks. He can't be like "Yep I'm cleared." so he thinks denying it will do it's job, and clearly it has. Now that's not me saying I think he's lying, but I've seen plenty of people believe it, so if it ends up being a swerve, he got people. If not, then well hey he told us. Either way he was smart to just deny it.

Edge is too smart of a person to jump at any offer, he isn't a mark for the business like alot of these vets.

I’ll say it’s probably a 97% chance he’s telling the truth. He seemed serious years ago when he said he never could or would be cleared. But we always have to leave that 3% something changed and he’s ready to pull one over on us. But I mean, you’re probably right. We’ll see.
