Hogan is hated by so many on here, I get the feeling we will be voting for him for awhile.

I seriously don't get why people's hate gets in the way of being objective and realistic.

I suppose it depends on your definition of "greatest wrestler", most influential, definitely up there. Most charismatic? Another strong case can be presented but as the best total package, I just can't justify Hulk being there. He's under rated by many, especially in ring but he's still not up there in my humble opinion.

You voted Piper, but Piper was only as well known as he was because he was lucky enough to feud with Hogan. Without Hogan wrestling wouldn't be what it is today.

Which is the point I'm kind of making, we're not talking the largest influence are we? Rather who we deem to be the better performer or greatest ever, correct? Roddy was influential in creating Hogan tbh, the people loved Hulk. I'm a fan of his so can't deny it, however if Piper wasn't an epic heel would Hogan have gotten as big?

To people, it's hard to separate the best and the greatest. The best ever imo are Flair/Angle, the greatest is definitely Hogan.

No there is no set criteria but when you factor in all of Hogan's other attributes along with his influence on the business he comes out on top for me.

And I'm not here to bash Piper, I love the guy. But Hogan was already huge by the time he was feuding with Piper.

How is it definitive when it creates so much debate? You can claim Austin is the greatest based upon varying degrees or even Rock from an influence perspective as he's the only wrestler to make it in mainstream media. Hogan is great I acknowledged that but the greatest is impossible to gage on anything but opinion.

He was huge but he helped him get to that next level. That's why they mainevented the 1st Wrestlemania together in the tag match. People loved Hulk but they loved to hate Roddy.

Voting for The Rock. He is very disliked on these forums for whatever reason but his mic ability, and controlling of a crowd is scary. He's also a very good in-ring worker for a guy of his size, not many superstars that are 6'5 260 pounds could work a match as well as he could.

Also he is massive and brought in some interest by returning to the WWE. Including myself to be honest.

Nominating Eddie again.

Rock is disliked on here? I think many of us marked like a bunch of scallywags during Rock's first run and then his return. Us saying he wasn't at his best since his return isn't disliking him lol.

I always lol seeing Rock listed at 6'5.

Maybe with elevator shoes on.
