This is going to be a series of polls to determine the consensus greatest wrestlers of all time according to the posters on this board.

Disclaimer; by all time, I am actually going to limit things to 1985 on, or what could be viewed as the 'Wrestlemania Era' because let's face it, there is no use in a bunch of 20 somethings/teenagers debating if Bruno Samartino or Bob Backlund were better than The Rock or Bret Hart. While most of us probably don't remember many things from the 80s, we have all seen Wrestlemania 1 on DVD.

The first man to 10 votes will win the ranking. For the vote to count, you must make a post stating who you voted for, and also say who you think should be added to the next poll that was not included in this one.

Now, there are a lot of things that go into making someone great, but I'm not going to lay any specific guide lines for what you should vote on, it's simply your personal opinion. Me personally, I will take into account how iconic a wrestler was, lasting impact, memorable matches & segments, and things of this nature.
__________

I vote Hulk Hogan and nominate Kurt Angle
__________

Also if you think the #1 GOAT isn't in my original list, tough shit, vote for someone who is and nominate them for the next poll

Voted for Stone Cold Steve Austin, reasons include his gimmick being revolutionary amongst mainstream wrestling, some excellent promos and some matches were amazing, especially his matches with Bret. His impact was huge. Nomination is Roddy Piper.

I separate Western and Japanese wrestling, they are two different entities.

In "western" wrestling culture, Ric Flair is the GOAT, he's simply the best at anything he did: matches, performances, showmanship, promos, entertainment value, you name it. He's a true wrestling god.

The greatest and best Japanese wrestler of all time is Mitsuharu Misawa.

Let's keep it relevant. Nobody cares about Japanese wrestling :pity:

Nominate someone for the next poll or suffer the same fate as Jonathan

oh and for the record SPOILER Flair is my #2

Not seen a great amount but what I've seen has been stupidly enjoyable.

I was kidding about nobody liking Japanese wrestling, I love watching matches of guys who go over to Japan, but it's pointless to bring it up in this discussion

I'm a Puro fan first, then come American Indies. Puroresu is so better than Western pro wrestling, it's not even debatable. But I'm not going to bother you with that.

I nominate Sting.
