You can get away with brand exclusive PPVs a lot easier with streaming too, less pressure of a buy rate and such. I wouldn't hate a return of it, I get why people do bc it's only half the roster but it's certainly possible to book good PPVs with half of this roster, they just have to do it lol

I worry more on the men's side than the womens depending on how many more men get called up (hasn't actually been many yet). Those newer men just seem insanely generic to me, but I should wait to see what wacky gimmick they're given bc that's done wonders for others lol

Yeah I never really argue the point too much but I don't have an issue with hard brand splits at all. The issue is outside of 2003-2005, they were never booked well and even then, smackdown was pretty washed at times. But I think it's possible to book them well, it's not the concept that's bad

Yeah, the original split imo should be the blueprint.

It can be done and it can be great, but yeah, after 2005, they put no effort in it.

At this point they can probably get away with just doing a roster split, but I do think what made the first one so special is actually attempting to make the two shows different with different aesthetics, presentations, and different title divisions the other brand didn’t have. Not sure they’ll ever go that far again, but I think branded PPV is the least they can do.
